Plot Updates

The evil spirit Angel has finally been defeated, with the help of two brave wolves who sacrificed themselves to the cause, Tristan and Zyattiath. Those wolves poisoned during the ordeal have returned to their original state, with only mild weakness that will quickly fade, leftover from the strange magic. But with each pack's ranks decimated, the disappearance of the spirits, and the lands in disarray, drastic changes were made. The Zehr and Caladur have combined, as have the Lai'no and the Tyrehl, and the Da'Lith and the Erkeni. The Veren have retreated to the neutral lands, their former territory taken by the newly powerful Calazehr.

It was something he’d hoped to never do again...
That’s all Nave could think of as he gazed down at his paws. They were purely white, but to him, they were red and caked with blood. Nave didn’t see the white on himself at all, instead, he saw himself covered in dry, cracked blood with a fresh, new red coat on it. When that battle happened it was as if Nave had no other choice, or at least that’s what he liked to tell himself. He couldn’t convince himself of this though. Slowly, but surely, he felt as if a shadow of the wolf from his past was creeping up on him. He was afraid of that wolf and everything in his past that had made him, the alpha, dirty. Nave refused to return to being such a heathen, but there was nothing to make up for the blood he’d spilt now. Now he could just hang his head--as he did years ago--and recite his broken promise, “Never Again...”
The land Nave stood on now was formerly the Tyrehl’s. He shuffled by a couple of the dens. Once they were claimed and smelled fresher of wolves, but there wasn’t such now. The pack had shrunk...even with the agreed merge. Nave sighed as he made his way over to the leader rock. He’d been a fairly new alpha when all of these events happened. It seemed unfair that such involvements would fall on him when he was just trying to be nice, really. Life wasn’t fair though, Nave knew that. Now he had to lead two packs. Oh, Nave knew he had to share the position and he didn’t mind, but he also knew that efficiency of the pack would go down if it were treated as two separate packs instead of one. Nave’s goal was to completely merge the packs together, he decided it was the best he could do. He’d lead with Latoki--with--not against. Nave would do all he could to get the two sides to socialize...he had no idea how it would all turn out, but he could only hope for the best.
The white old brute climbed onto the leader’s rock. Everything had been mixed around lately, so he wanted to call everyone together. That way, everything could be explained and he could see just how many of his and the other pack were left. He hoped Latoki wouldn’t mind him calling the meeting, it wasn’t as if he wished to overstep her. He was sure to leave plenty of room next to him so that she’d be able to join him on the rock. With a quick glance around and a tip of his head Nave released his deep, old chords that sought the ears of the pack, calling them all together. It was the beginning of a new era, and Nave could only wait and see what was to come. Despite how he was feeling inside, he was his good old self on the outside.

Zodiac was not too far away when he heard the call. The battle had aged him, no longer an adolescent, he’d become something of a strapping young man. His hazel eyes turned towards the call and he got to his feet, revealing a new scar. A line, still dull red from healing, wound from his chest and down his right foreleg. Eventually he supposed it would fade, the pain at least was gone. It was more obvious under the shorter fur of his legs, even he wasn’t sure what mess lay deep within the mane of hair around his neck. He couldn’t even remember who’d done it, it didn’t really matter
He barely knew the pack he’d fought to defend, the wolves who’d turned against them were strangers. Perhaps that made it easier, perhaps it was his youth, or maybe there was more warrior in him than he knew. But Zodiac did not loose much sleep, except for the discomfort from his wounds, from the battle. The whole affair had disturbed him, to be sure, but only his body was scarred, his soul remained intact.
It was not a fair fate, nor was it fair to judge those who had died or been possessed as if they’d made a mistake. It could easily have been him. So no, he did not feel guilt, but he did feel a little sadness. Currently he ignored this sadness and pushed his pillar like forelimbs forward, starting a quick walk towards his alpha, one of his alphas, he corrected himself.
Toffee-caramel coat flickered under the dabbled light, huge paws sinking into lush grass as quietly as such large paws could do. Every now and then he’d catch the scattering of some small creature fleeing from his approach, but he payed them little attention. He wasn’t hungry, food was plentiful. This time of year should be a time of celebration and feasting, of bonding and breeding. But instead they mourned.
Finally the great rock and Nave came into view, Zodiac wagged his tail a little in greeting, his auds lowering and then returning to a normal position. It didn’t seem like anyone else was here yet, as his eyes cast around the area. He settled on his haunches, hazel eyes flicking back to Nave, he knew this would be an important meeting.

How confusing the world had become. How she had been deceived…or perhaps how she deceived herself. Hadn’t she come here on promises of a flourishing pack, on lands set aside specifically for her? Lies. She had fed them to herself. They had all proved false because now- now she was sitting on land that was not her own, with pack members she hadn’t ever seen before, leading next to a male that was not her mate.
In the other hand, the pack was flourishing. More numbers than ever before- but these details had not been included in her whisperings with the gods. She had only received parts of the message. A quiet anger burned with the thought. She had been purposely deceived, tricked into coming to this wretched place that harbored such and evil entity to live in ‘faith and prosperity’. Some prosperity. She had been flung into such a battle- such a horrible battle. The red eyed demon forms of their packmates, of the wolf she had begun to love, and none of her members had showed to the battle. She shivered as she recalled Bushido’s overpowering form above her.
She realized however, that had she known she would have never settled here. After rummaging around for some good out of the matter she decided that perhaps she and her numbers were needed to defeat the entity. This was conflicted with the fact that one of her strongest members- Bushido- had been inflicted with the disease. If they were so needed, why weren’t they protected?
She was still lost in this conflict with Naves unexpected summoning howl rang out over the land. Right, some alpha was she. She turned in her pacing, heading towards the sound of the call through unfamiliar territory. When she arrived she couldn’t help but to notice that none of her former members were there. Hoping that they would come she moved quietly past Zodiac and Goldenclaw, nodding politely and hopped up next to Nave, offering a half smile before sitting down next to him.

The battle was over, but there still wasn't all that much time to rest. Being the Beta, Celestia still had to keep an eye over things while the Alphas straightened everything out, which luckily wasn't hard. After viewing so much conflict during the fight, she was sure no one within the Lairehl ranks wished to be a bother to anyone else. Some peace and quiet would be heaven sent at this point. So she just needed to observe, make her own little notes here and there, and keep Nave and Latoki informed.
Then there was her own added responsibility. Vyess and Lakota's pups. Okay, so they weren't her complete responsibility. The pack had accepted them into their ranks as a whole, but she still considered herself their general caretaker. It had been Vyess's dying wish that she keep watch over his family, or what was left of it at this point. She greived over the loss of her ex-Alpha Lakota, but knew she was still needed to keep her head and watch the wolf's children. It was still iffy how many of them were going to survive this whole ordeal. The winter had been long and harsh, much worse than ever imaginable under normal circumstances, and she was sure it had taken its toll on the small family. Now all that needed to be done was wait and see who could make it.
Leaving the pups within the safety of the dens, Celestia ventured out to the call Nave had sent up, knowing her presence would be appreciated. It was probably something rather important too, now that she saw her leader seated atop the rock, Latoki coming up to sit beside him. Her blue-lavender gaze fell upon two of her old packmates, Zodiac and Goldenclaw, and she smiled warmly at them as she came to take a seat amongst their ranks. She turned her head up to Latoki and Nave, nodding her head politely to both as she settled herself to listen and wait. Occasionally an ear or her whole head would turn towards the dens, listening for any sign that the young ones might be on the move, but she tried to keep most of her attention on her leaders, interested in the merge's effects and what the new plan was to be.

With the battle over and the news of packs merging, Moonstrike had a new world to look forward to. He was trailing the boarder when he heard the call of his alpha, Nave. He started off at a light trot but soon slowed to a walk. It didn’t take long before he found himself on a hill looking down and seeing a small group forming. He noticed Nave, Celestia, Goldenclaw, and Zodiac were already there along with one he didn’t know first hand, or paw, but knew she was also an alpha. Moon stood watching to see who else would show and was reluctant to go himself. Especially after what he did. He had been one of the one to stand against Nave and the Tyrehl and as such didn’t feel worthy to be in the pack. Though he didn’t remember what part of the battle he played, he did remember waking from the control of the spirit and found himself standing over the body of a loner, cold and motionless. How many other had he killed? Who else did he fight in that battle? He didn’t know and truly didn’t want to.
Eventually Moon mustered up the strength to push on and eased his way down the hill. He made his way through the brush and out into the clearing the pack was to gather. He stepped up to the leader’s rock, gave a short bow and looked up at Nave. He opened his mouth to speak but no words came at first. Where would he start? How could he ask for forgiveness for something he couldn’t control? It was because of this that he started not to apologize but deep down he couldn’t live with what he did without some kind of closure. ”Nave…I…I don’t know what I did…and I’d much rather not to. I don’t feel that I belong here. I don’t feel that I deserve to be here. I’m sorry for what ever I did and accept the consequences of my actions.” he said and took another bow, awaiting a response.
--------------------
First I looked to the Moon, then I looked to the stars, now I look to my heart, and have followed it thus fare. It has taken me far, and found me a home. In the Tyrehl in live, where love I have found. I’ve yet to confess it, but some day I will. To have her by my side, is my only wish.

OOC: I'm not entirely sure if this is still active but heres a Bushido post IC: The massive frame of the once infected male moved through the new lands. He was unsure of many things right now. He wasn't sure about this pack merge, nor the pack they where now combined with. He wasn't sure what kind of crimes he had commited while infected or who he had hurt or acted against. He hoped Latoki hadn't seen him like that, though little did he know he had nearly killed the one his heart yearned for. It would kill him inside to know that. Large muscluar pillars pushed his frame through the lands with little regard to where he was going. He was simply following the howl of an alpha he didn't know nor did he really care for right now. He needed to find Latoki and find out what had happened.
Many scents where registering with his raven nars, though only one was one he knew. Latoki was here, at this meeting but she was here on these lands leading besides the other alpha. Had she taken him as a mate? The thoughts made his auds droop slightly but he knew he had little to offer her now. The whole incident left him depressed and rather at a loss for self confidence. It wasn't like him to worry over something he had little control of, but this was different. He had fought against, hurt and possibly killed members of his pack and wolves that hadn't wronged him. Surely they most have known he wasn't in his right mind? He should he held accountable, he felt he needed to be held accountable for his actions. There must have been some way he could have fought against it, even though he couldn't recall even going to the battle. No, he had no memories of the fight or what he had done. Which almost made it all the more worse.
Blue green eyes picked Latoki out of the group and for a moment he couldn't help but to smile at her and offer a wag of his long feathered tassle. His heart jumped at the sight of her and he was about to prance up to her, before he remembered what had happened recently. His expression changed quickly from over joyed and pleasent to a slap in the face of shame. Auds drooped and his tassle tucked as he found a seat far away from anyone else and avoided any looks from anyone. Lowering himself to the ground the giant of a wolf tried to appear as small as possible.

She sat numbly on the rock as two more former Tyrehl members came into view. The movements emitted from her forlorn body included an automated nod to Celestia and a blank reguard for Moon as he came up to the rock. Her heart had sank to the pit of her stomach, and though she figured that she ought not to focus on her feelings of disgrace and abandonment the fact that not a single soul from her former pack had bothered to show just amplified them. If she hadn’t brought any new members to this ‘new’ pack then she hadn’t a right to lead. She shouldn’t be sitting here on this rock, next to their alpha like she meant something to these complete strangers. Her ears burned and she cast a look around; she felt like a complete fool.
She blinked back tears and swallowed hard, attempting to concentrate the rocks, the trees, that bird singing-on anything but her miserable thoughts. Her eyes avoided the original Tyrehl members and her legs itched to move. She wanted to run away from the situation, to leave Nave to lead his pack as he had done before the world blew up and perhaps start anew in some distant land. Her nose twitched as a familiar scent wafted her way and hope began to show in her gray eyes. It couldn’t be… could it? She sat up, now at attention, searching for the man that could whisk these horrible thoughts and this horrible situation away from her.
After a bit of rustling from the brush he appeared, in the fur and flesh, and hopefully in his right mind, there he was. Bushido. The maw cracked into a wide smile as her tail rose to wave, only to halt as his expression change as he walked away. What had she done? With a furrowed brow she made her way off the rock and picked a path around the others to the handsome man. As she neared she slowed her pace and lowered her head to a height better suited for one laying down. She hesitated, sniffing gently as if to make sure it was him before shuffling a bit closer.
“Bushido?”

Deep blue eyes where shut tight, trying to remember, what exactly had happened. All he could remember was being severely ill and thinking his end was near, that he'd be with his dead children and mate soon. In a way it had been a comforting thought, yet he wasn't sure he was willing to give up his time in this being just yet, not when such a wonderful wolf had begun to unlock the realms of his heart he had locked away so long ago. Nothing. He thought frustated. Clearly someone had to know what happened, right? The problem was he wasn't sure he wanted to know what he had done, who he had harmed or tried to harm. No. The thought of him,Bushido. Protector of anyone in need, trying to kill anyone he came into contact with was a devastating image. He was not oblivious to the fact that he was indeed a large wolf and that he was potentially deadly in battle. No. It wasn't like he hadn't killed a wolf before, under circumstances of course.
Bushido
His thoughts scrambled and his fine crown lifted and he looked to Latoki, wide eye'd for a moment in shock. Yet his usual calm and peaceful demeanor soon replaced it and he offered a very slight smile. The fear he felt was masked behind a trained face and a hardened shell. Deep blue eyes met hers and he felt a pang of regret as her expression caught him. Had he done something wrong besides trying to avoid the truth of what he had done. What he didn't want to know if he had done. Had she seen him like that? Out of control. He liked to think that he was always in control, for the most part anyway. You couldn't control everything; if you held the sand too tightly it would just slide from your grasp, whilst if you hold it gently it will stay. The ebonite smudge beneath his right eye shone like the war paint of warrior of the past. Rising to his feet, though careful to keep his crown lower than hers he let his tassle sway neutrally behind him.
" M'Lady, May we be excused?" He said, his baritone vocals gentle as he looked to her questionably. Though he had asked permission, it was more a request than anything. Trotting past her he felt the warmth of her body as the long silver and cream hairs of his frame reached for hers for that breif moment.
-Exit Bushido-
