Title: Ode to a Shoelace
Description: Something Fun =)

SolarCat - November 12, 2005 10:40 PM (GMT)
I was told once to write an ode to something typically ordinary, and what's more ordinary than a shoelace? And yet anyone who has lost a shoelace knows how important they can be. So I wrote a poem about a poor lost shoelace finding a home. :P

Ode to a Shoelace

Ode to a shoelace
Alone on the ground
Abandoned, forgotten
No shoe to be found

Ode to a shoelace
Curled up on the floor
Whole and unbroken
Unwanted no more

Ode to a shoelace
Now tied to my shoe
Snapped one forgotten
I now run anew

Ode to a shoelace
The cycle complete
My shoes when I run
Now keep up with my feet

Thank you. I thought it would be a fun one. You don't usually read about shoelaces in poetry. :P

I like fun little things like that.

It could almost be a monty python song.

It reminds me a bit of this one:

That was pretty funny. In an odd, what-the-heck-was-that kinda way.

That was Terry Giliam (one of the pythons) singing a song from monty python...

and the sound at the end of it is him being shot!

It's Monty Python. It doesn't have to make sense.

Monty Python never does.

The point of Monty python is that it doesn't make sense.

It's all good silly fun.

Such as my favourite superhero!

I was forced to sit through "Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail" a few years ago. That was the strangest movie ever, and the ending was the weirdest bit of all. Gotta love it when people run out of their budget money. :P

I've also seen a few of their sketches. They're... odd. Some are quite funny, though.

 You make baby fictional religous characters cry.....

You need a crash course in Monty Python's flying circus education.

Lesson 2 - The fish slapping dance
