I've been really impressed with the TV-event so far. There's been some great writing, acting (Eve Myles is FANTASTIC in all the scenes that she does), and the story really has you on the edge of your seat. But it's just a huge shame that it will all be over on Friday.

Eep, I know! They kept that quiet. :S

I'm not a huge fan of Torchwood. I watched series two mainly for Martha's appearances, but I have been completely hooked by this mini-series-type-thing. Best thing I've seen on TV all year. The format really works.

Script-wise I think they've handled the negotiations/political discussions scenes really well (though getting a bit fed up of the 'dramatic pauses' in the former). They could have ended up being really tedious.

Looking forward to the conclusion!

I'm in a complete state of shock. I never thought that they could top the shocking events from the previous episode ... but boy, they certainly did! What is the worst thing, is that there simply wasn't any other way to save the children, that's the sting in the tail. He now feels the burden that the Doctor has been forced to take on so many times before. Wow. Amazing writing, amazing script, and again, some great acting (Gwen is just a star, I absolutely love her, she is so the heart of everything). And his departure at the end obviously leads on to his inclusion within Tennant's final episodes, so that was a nice touch.

This isn't the end. RTD said that, if ratings are high - which they are - there will be a fourth season.

So i thought I would give my thoughts on this...I personally believe it has been Torchwood at it's best and that comes from a fan from the very beginning.

I loved Lois she was great and the way she stood up to the others was just amazing...i can really see her taking on a role in Torchwood.

It did leave me heartbroken with the death of Ianto as I was good this year and didnt read any spoilers so was not expecting it at all and it was all dramacitc but I couldnt believe that Jack couldnt even say he loved him back even tho he knew he was dying...so sad sad.gif Torchwood wont be the same without Ianto.

I was pretty much on the verge (sp) of tears through the last epiosde with them picking the children, draging them out of school very upsetting stuff and really well shown, and the way that Gwen explained why the Doctor hasnt come made perfect sence to me.

The ending was shocking and it did bring me to tears as it was a huge scarfice Jack made for the rest of the world. Jack leaving, I kinda guessed would of happened as he has to be in at least one of the Doctor Who speicals.

Anway I made a Torchwood Wallpaper of what I would like the new team to look like biggrin.gif

I hope if they make a 4th Series, they bring in the police officer, She started off pretty much the "bad guy", trying to kill Jack, then concreting him, but you know she was just doing her job, and doing a pretty good job of it, she'd be incredibly usefull on the team.

Yeah, it'd be interesting to see what role she'd have in future series, if any. I'm thinking an ally but not a member of Torchwood?

Nice wallpaper Katsy! I recognise everyone except the guy between Martha and Gwen...though he does look familiar. Ooh, and Torchwood crossed with Primeval (yet another show I only recently started watching) - that would be a cool story!

Lois was definately being set up as the next 'Ianto'. She was organised, took a risk for the greater good, and stood her ground. I definately believe that they will include her as a member of the team in series four.

Martha, I'm not as convinced. I think they would have put her in by now, at least an appearance in this special (as they had been actively recruiting for months now). And with Lois there, I'm not too sure that they would go down that route (sorry, but it is television here, lol).

The police officer - now that would be amazing! I thought she was really great, and the team definately needs a new femme fatale. She definately fits the bill as a hard weapons / tactics expert, but with a softer shell underneath. She's be amazing on the team.

So I believe the fourth series team will definately be:

* Jack
* Gwen
* Lois

With Rhys helping out occassionally. I doubt they'd make him a full on team member, as he works so well as the outsider forced it into because of his wife. If they had him quit his normal day job and have him integrated into the group, it wouldn't work any where near as well.

And I'm hoping for:

* Police Officer

Like they did with the specials, I can see them giving Gwen the continued role of having / selecting the small secret gadgets and such, and any minor space or techno babble would be given to Jack so he'd be a bit more gadget / gizmo minded. Lois would be the PA / organiser, and of course, the police officer as the heavy gunner.

That still leaves the team without a medical expert though. Again, I don't think that they will use Martha now, so we could be in for a completely fresh face during the fourth season. Though I'd be just as happy if she was included.

Definitely, especially when Gwen practically told her she could have a job. I remember wondering how she would fit in with Ianto there too, but then he convenienly died, lol.

As for Martha, I would love to see her on the team, but I don't think Freema would do it now she's in Law & Order.

Wasn't there a rumour that Mickey would be joining Torchwood?

Martha wasnt in season 3 cause Freema was filming Law and Order but I think if she was offred a major player role before she signs up for another season of Law and Order Im sure she would take it!

Thanks Matt...the guy between Martha and Gwen Thomas Dekker, he was in Heroes amd also Terminator the sarah Conner chronicles.

Lol A Primeval and Torchwood crossover would b good but Primeval has now been axed sad times sad.gif

I dont think they would just have Lois, Gwen and Jack, season 4 needs to be bigger to keep the fans so they would have to add new members

Mickey was meant to b in s3 but like Martha I think they changed it cause of the 5 episodes format!

Ah, so that's why she wasn't in it. But what was Noel Clarke's reason? They really set it up (in Dr Who) that the two would be joining Torchwood. I would love it (as you know with the other project, lol) if Mickey would join!

Ok I've watched tourchwood on BBC America off and on since they began playing it and finally settled down and watched the finale then the Children of Earth mini special. I loved Children of Earth hated how it ended on some points. But it kept me watching every second. It was amazing
