Mercenary Band Charter Application
Your Name: Crimsa Jade
Mercenary Band’s Name: Atrakiam BiWing
Mercenary Band Leader’s Name: Skiidriath BiWing

Mercenary Band History:
From the day she hatched, the arion Skiidriath had not been accepted by either side of her race. Her wings, the left skin and scale was irredecent and brightly coloured with all colours of the spectrum, and right, feathered black, greys, and white, left her an outcast among her kind. The murks, to whom she was born, thought her to much of a bryte. She left Syn and set out to see if the brytes would better accept her.
On her way to see if the brytes would accept her, Skii happened upon a young red dragon. The poor thing had been injured in a hunt, many fearing the ferocity of the beasts thought to be evil. She tried to help the thing, offering some of her own life energy to it to revive itself, but it was to no avail. It died in her arms, saying only one thing to her. (Her boots, hair ties, belt, and the pommels and sheaths of her sword are made of the hide of the dragon and sometimes glow a deep scarlet.)
When she arrived in Arionette she soon learned she would find no acceptance there. The brytes, looking at her wings, had marked her distictly murk and didn't want anything to do with her. Especially after someone was murdered and she became the lead suspect. It was in Arionette they started calling her biwing. She abandoned all hope of fitting in among her race and set out on her own, never to return to the home of the brytes.
With no home for the one named Skiidriath, she took up the name Atrakiam BiWing, the path leading her down that of a mercenary. Alone, she travelled for a hundred and fifty years doing what others had hired her to do. But only if she thought the cause worthy and would better that of Aersrealm which she adopted as her true home. She would have starved rather then see it suffer.
Eventually everyone knew of the BiWinged Knight, Atrakiam BiWing. Many came looking for her, hoping to offer partnership. For the longest time she would turn everyone away, fearing that she would once again feel the betrayal she felt at the hands of her own race and feeling that she didn't need anyone. It would be at the hands of a murk elf that she would learn differently.
She had met Kiado when she was hired to disrupt a murk elf mercenary train and steal a particular item back for her client. As she sat in her tree trying to spot the wagon that carried the item she saught she hadn't noticed the highly skilled scout who had come up beneath her purch. He swung up through the tree, not a leaf ruffled, and came up behind her. She didn't even notice she had a visitor up until she felt a blade pressing against her throat. "I suggest you take your hand off that dagger, lady BiWing. I have some matters I wish to disguse with you..."
Skii had no idea what stayed her blade. As he had wispered those words into her ear she had sensed an openning in his defence, some sort of weakness in his resolve, and knew at that moment she could escape. Kicking hard, she threw herself into a backflip, using the momentum to push him out of the tree. As he fell, she glided down after him, landing on top of him with her dagger on his chest. But she could not bring herself to take the next step.
As she stared into those crimson eyes of his she caught sight of something she knew but could not recognize. "I suggest you speak now or you may not live to speak again," she bluffed, hoping that he would not catch on to her own weakness.
Sighing with relief, the elf relaxed. "Please forgive me, m'lady. I wish only a word, in hopes you'll help me..." He paused a moment, as if expecting the dagger to pierce his heart, but when nothing came he continued. "Please, Atrakiam, I need to get away from my life in Linwe. I can't stand to live under the rule of Vahirga anymore. I..."
"If you wish to run, do so now," she said coolly, knowing what he was about to say. "I work alone and your getting in my way..." Almost as if on que voices sounded in the distance. It seemed that the others had heard heard the ruckas. Skiidriath cursed loudly. "You're lucky I don't kill you where you lay," she growled at him before drawing her talwars and heading off in the direction of the wagons. She just hope she could find it now.
With a roar Skiidriath broke from the trees, her swords swinging out to either as she took the two shocked murks in the neck. She barely had time to dodge a sword from behind as another elf brought his sword down behind her. Furious at how she could have missed her, she dropped down to her hands, kicking the elf's legs out from under her, then went into a roll and brought a dagger down between her breasts. Getting to her feet, Skii knew she would be seriously outnumbered if she continued to fight them heads on. Again she cursed and took wing.
From the air she was able to take out a few more murks but again she knew she could not keep fighting that way. A burst of sharp pain in her left wing only proved her point as an arrow pierce through. She needed to find the item and fast. She came down on the first wagon, cutting at the ropes that held canvas in place. Taking out a few more elves, she saw the item wasn't there.
She was able to get a look at two more wagons before a sword came up and caught her in her already injured wing. She tumbled to the ground, taking another arrow. Skiidriath layed there a moment, dazed and waiting for her end to come. But nothing came. Clearing her head, she jumped to her feet, swinging her head around wide to put her braid to work. She felt it hit a couple elves and was quick to run them through with her swords but she realized that they wern't concentrating on her at the moment. She turned to see what could have distracted them from falling pray.
It was then she noticed a murk mowing his way through the crowd in her direction, cutting down elves as he passed by. She recognized him instantly as the one who she had pulled from the tree. Surprised, but not about to argue, she began to cut her way toward him, taking more then a few more injuries in her already battered state. When they met it the middle, he leaned down from his horse and aided her onto it's back. "Hold tight," he offered, then spurred his horse into a gallop toward the woods. The few that choose to follow were cut down as soon as they came into range.
They rode for several hours nonstop before finally reaching the edge of a waterfall. The elf dismounted, then turned to help Skiidriath down, but at that moment her wounds and exaustion finally caught up with her and she fainted. When she awoke again she found the elf tending to the tair in her wing. "Good to see your finally awake, m'lady."
"I...? What...? Where am I...? Who are you...?" she asked after a moment, still groggy.
"Safe within my little haven," he aswered. "I am Kiado Ried'Dreem, formally a soldier of the Men'Zonine army back in Linwe. Though now I fear they will not welcome me back. Not after saving you, Atrakiam."
"Wha...?" she began and then it all came back in a flood. She shot up so quickly, knocking Kiado to the ground. She reached for her weapons but as she expected they wern't there.
"They're over there," he said, pointing to a shelf as he got back to his feet. "Where do you think your going in such a state, anyways?"
"My mission..." she said when Kiado would not let her to them. "I need to get that item."
Much to Skii's annoyance, Kiado pushed her back down onto the bed. "Your mission is complete. I grabbed it before I got to you."
Skiidriath gave him a quizical look as he bent over to look at her wing. "And how would you know what I was looking for?"
He looked up at her, looking into her silver eyes. "Because I was the one that hired you. Or rather, I hired the one who hired you. I couldn't approach you directly at the time."
Skiidriath was taken aback. "But what would you want with..."
Kiado put up a hand to stop her. "Perhapes it's best you follow me a moment." he said, getting to his feet and walking through the blanket that was serving as a door. She took the chance to grab a dagger before following the murk out as well. What met her on the other side astounded her.
The room had at least a dozen children, all laughing and playing. Most were murk elves, but there were bryte elves and other races as well. She turned to Kiado confused. "What is this place?"
"It is a refuge for the children who have been orphaned due to the murk Fae's cruelty. Few know of it and fewer still live to find out after they do."
Skiidriath's eyes narrowed. "Is that a threat?"
"To you, no. But there are those that would disturb the peace I have made for these children and I would die to protect every last one of them," he answered.
She then noticed a small bryte female, a stuffed wolf doll clutched to her chest. Skiidriath smiled. It was the exact item she had been sent to retrieve. "You do these children a great service, Kiado."
Kiado shook his head. "Don't be so sure. I orphaned most of these children myself." He went on to tell Skiidriath that about all the families he had been ordered to kill and the reasons why. Most had crossed Vahirga in one way or another and mostly for the oddest reasons. She quickly began to understand Kiado's need to get away from her rule.
The murk elf Kiado would be the first Skiidriath would ever call friend. Over the years she would met more people who would earn her respect in one way or another and eventually these people would become her family. Three years ago she passed on the name Atrakiam BiWing to these people and took on her true name. Soon the BiWing was no longer one single entity, but many spread throughout Aersralm. None whould argue, however, that it was Skiidriath who leads them all.

Mercenary Band Rules: Atrakiam BiWing is a mercenary band founded by the arion Skiidriath BiWing. Atrakiam BiWing band, there are 20 places of importance.
The honor code is unwritten and not absolute, bending according to the situation. For the most part all one has to do is remain true to Atrakiam BiWing. Treachery to the band is not tolerated and is a death sentence as far as she is concerned, but all do have a chance to plead their case. Self-preservation at the band's expense is also looked down upon and can get one killed. Atrakiam BiWing members must look to each other as family.
One thing that has to be remembered is that they are mercenaries and can be hired. In this case, it is forbidden to give the name of the employer. Bribes are not to be accepted... For a direct name that is. If one feels it, they can drop hints as two who might have hired them to do the deed. They also have a number of people in all areas of Aersralm. Some are spies but some also treat their position seriously.
Of course, those new to Atrakiam BiWing are put under probation. Never are they left without an eye on them, even if it seems they are. Only Skiidriath has the right to fully accept a member and award them a member token, a coin with the two different wings stamped on each side.

Mercenary Band Info: Atrakiam BiWing originally came into existance with only one member, Skiidriath, who had no home or family to turn to. For over a hundred and fifty the name had been given to one who was forsaken, with no place in the world. During those years that was what Atrakiam BiWing represented.
The day she took up her real name again was the day she found her place in the world. She learned that Aersralm, not any one part, but the whole, was her home and the friends she had made over the years were the only family she would ever need. She dropped the name Atrakiam BiWing as her own but did not let it die.
She gave it to her friends, sharing it with those she could trust. Atrakiam BiWing became the name that represented her family. And with Aersralm as her back yard there are now many who carry that name.
Atrakiam BiWing offers the comforts and protection to friends and family who have none. They look out for eachother, first and foremost. Anyone can become a member, pixie or dragon, good or bad, as long as they realize this and Skiidriath accepts them. Grudges or personal vendettas, as they are bound to form due to it's diversity, within the band are to be taken to Skiidriath herself. Even enemies may call upon eachother's help in a time of need.
