Overall Message Board RulesThese are the rules to follow no matter what area of the board you find yourself in. Please follow them so everyone can enjoy their time here.1. READ THE RULES BEFORE YOU JOIN!!! Ignorance of the rules is not an acceptable excuse for poor behavior. Please see "Third Strike and You are Out Rule" found below.2. Be Considerate:~ No personal attacks. Personal insults and/or attacks of vulgar language directed at any member of the board will NOT be tolerated. This includes "name calling", insulting member's family (example: "You're mom is a whore"), and any other offensive act. Do not adjust your Signature or Custom Titles to attack anyone either. These kinds of behavior are childish and immature and will be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Basically be nice...OR ELSE!!!

~ No harassment of other players, or any negative replies. Examples of this is telling some one in the DMoA discussion forum they are an "idiot", or "stupid", for any ideas or even stating that member's statements are "incorrect". You may debate and discuss their posts, but do not let it get personal.
~ Do not interrupt a previously discussed New Topic with statements like "we already talked about this" or "I hate when people bring up old topics". If you don't wish to discuss that particular issue anymore just stay out. Some people might want to discuss it again, and the new members that did not get to participate in the first go around may have a chance to raise their opinions or comments. Be considerate.
~ Do not be a board bully. Allow others to have their say without shutting them down or pointing out their mistakes of any kind just for the sake of pointing it out. Avoid pulling any slanderous comments! Also avoid behavior that is malicious and vindictive towards other members. Just because you had a bad day...does not make it plausible for you to take it out on everyone else.
~Do not get offended if an administrator requests you to alter, edit, or other wise change any posts, applications, or behavior you are having. We are not in any way trying to personally attack you. If you feel we are in fact attacking you…please consult me personally via pm (under my “Skadi” username)…and we can discuss your view point and see if we can come to a conclusion. If I find you being rude, defensive, or otherwise ill tempered with a staff member I will request for you to stop. That will be your first warning (PLEASE look up the “Three Strikes and You are Out Rule” because this warning will apply to it).
3. Images and Sigs:~ Custom Sig limit is 450 x 200. Anything larger will be edited out and you will be asked to change it or stop using it. No nudity or vulgarity allowed. Your signatures need not be kid friendly but do not go overboard.
~Custom Avatar limit is 200 x 300. Anything larger will be edited out and you will be asked to change it or stop using it. No nudity or vulgarity allowed. Your avatars need not be kid friendly but do not go overboard.
~ Custom Titles. These are open to be requested, however it is a privilege, NOT a right. Do not just post once or twice and ask for one never to return to the board. The guidelines are as follows. No vulgarity or personal attacks. Links and Images are acceptable. Size limits will be enforced so that the forum tables do not get stretched or take forever to load.
~ Images in Posts are accepted, however within reason. If you have a rather large image, or more than one or two, post links instead of images.
~Images must be fantasy related. I do not want to see characters in t-shirts and jeans if you are going to be using a real picture of a real person. I would rather you find some fantasy art...but I understand some are not comfortable with that. This helps for the attire of a character to not disturb the fantasy of a role play. This is a magical fantasy world...and so should the characters dress that way.
4. Board Policies~ The Administrators of this board reserve the right to add to or make changes to these rules, reasons, procedures, and penalties at any time.
~ Three Strikes and You are Out Rule...
First time you break a rule...you get a warning.
Second time you break a rule...you are banned for a week and when you are allowed to come back...your posts will be moderated for a two weeks after your Bann.
Third time you break a rule...you are banned for a month. If you wish to reapply you must contact me via e-mail "tripmydaisy@yahoo.com". From there we can discuss reinstatement of your board privileges. This is situational...some offenses may be too grand to allow continuance of board privileges.
The "Three Strikes and You are Out Rule" applies with each and every rule on the board. For example:
"Janie's avatar was 300x400 pixels which breaks the 200x300 maximum. She gets a warning...but that same day in a thread she calls Kyle a "big fat idiot"...that is her second offense for breaking board rules...and she is now banned for one week and on moderation for two weeks. When she comes back however...during her moderation period she attacked Kyle personally in a thread by saying his character was "stupid and that his writing sucked"....She is now banned for a month. If she ever wishes to return to DMoA...she must reapply for membership by personally e-mailing me and discussing it. Though I have found her behavior unpalatable. She is denied membership."
This of course is just an example...but shows how the process of this rule works.~ Persons involved in disputes or situations which merit the intervention of an Administrator will get NO say so in which of the staff members deals with it. We will simply tackle the issue with whoever is available to. If you have a dispute with any judgment you are free to complain, though unfounded complaints will be ignored.
5. Complaint Process~If its a complaint about the board, simply contact a Mod or an Admin and we will try to help you.
~If it involves another member of this board follow these steps.
Step 1 - Try to resolve anything between you and the other person. Do this off the board if possible. Chances are its not a big deal and this will solve it.
Step 2 - If no success from Step 1, contact any available admin either through IMs, or the board's e-mail
tripmydaisy@yahoo.com
Be sure to include as much detail as possible. Copy and paste any pertinent discussions with the other person, and provide links to any topics that have to do with your complaint. Make sure you do not break any of the personal attack rules on the board or you will run the risk of being punished yourself. Ignore them if needs be.
You will be notified when and how the staff has dealt with the situation as soon as they have done so. If an individual continues after you have been notified of this move to step three.
Step 3 - If they continue despite Staff intervention, repeat step two, providing as much proof as you can and let us know again. And they will be dealt with swiftly.
~ Thunderdome. Two men enter, one man leaves.
If you have ongoing confrontations with someone, and the two of you simply cannot co-exist on this board without further complications you can request Thunderdome.
BOTH PARTIES must agree to Thunderdome because its penalty is so severe. The person who loses Thunderdome is banned from the board for any length of time to be decided by the Staff.
Once BOTH PARTIES agree, from there the Admins will make a topic for the parties involved to argue. In these topics anything goes. Forget the rules, swear, curse, rant, rave, argue, debate, hold hands.. whatever you wish to do to your opponent you do.
After some back and forth the Staff will then decide who won or lost based on how well they destroyed the other person. Penalties will be awarded to the loser. If and when the loser returns anything said or done in Thunderdome, as well as those things that led up to it, are to be treated as if they never happened.
Anybody returning from a Thunderdome ban that is still holding an obvious grudge will be permanently banned from the board. Highly detailed Thunderdome rules can be found in that forum.
Staff StatementPenalties are left up to the judgment of the Administration and are subject to their feelings on the situation. We reserve the right to edit, delete or otherwise remove any and all content posted on this board, as well as to temporarily or permanently ban anyone we feel is not creating a healthy environment for this board.
Any “in game” complaints or disputes should try to be worked out between the people involved in that topic, if agreeable conclusions cannot be reached then contact an administrator. Postpone all further replies until the issue has been resolved.
Please send all complaints to tripmydaisy@yahoo.com
Thank you for taking the time to read the rules. Please enjoy your stay at Dragon Masters of Aersralm. Have fun and we hope to see you around.
