Hello everyone! It's Chelsea!
So here is it. To Infinity. The site that has been part of my life for over a year. And what an over a year it has been. I love TI way to much to just turn it offline and hide if from everyone, so I leaving it just like this. For everyone to see. For everyone to see what we have done here. Maybe it isn't much to you, but to us, and especially to me, it's a lot.
I don't know if this closure is forever. Maybe I'll walk back with inspiration to start anew and have all the energy an admin needs for a site. I do know though, that I will still be back, every single day, checking up on my To Infinity, so no one has to be a stranger.
Thanks for the ride, you guys. There are so many ideas that I never got to show you, and so many characters I never got to share with you. Don't laugh because I am making this little tid-bit is way more epic then it has to be. I'm just reflecting. After all, this is has been a huge part of my life for more then a year.
Affiliates, you can finally just take down our banner and you don't have to worry about whether we are back online or not. Internet lurkers, even though you won't join, don't be hesitant to lurk around this cove of the internet. BUT, don't abuse the space. I'll still be keeping this place clean and tidy.
Thank you everyone for giving your time and effort here, and coming to like it just as much as me. <3 I love you, To Infinity, and I really hope you live on for Infinity.
Love,
Chelsea

Well, it was certainly quiet around these parts. Dauh supposed he had no complaints; a wolf of his nature hardly needed constant conflict. Wasn’t that part of the reason that he’d practically exiled himself, anyway? Shaitan, although he had initially appeared to be a potentially bothersome wolf, had actually become surprisingly scarce. Perhaps this was a clue to the mystery of the small pack. Was Dauh lost in some sort of Abhay limbo? Did wolves join, only to never be seen again? Dauh had explored the packlands three times over, or so it felt, and nothing. He couldn’t even smell the wolves of old; was this place unnatural, or just unknown? Was there some huge, blinking sign that he had missed when nobody else did? What was going on? Did Shaitan eat all newcomers behind his back? Had Shaitan eaten him without him knowing? Was he just a ghost, cursed to wander this empty desert forever more?
Unsurprisingly, a lifetime completely void of contact and full of these speculations managed to shake even the sound-minded Dauh, and in an attempt to answer some of his own supposedly foolish questions, he struck out. He wasn’t abandoning Abhay, if it even still existed (if it existed in the first place!) but he just needed some fresh air. The air in the pack smelt of… nothing, and that was the problem.
Glalan Plains, although Dauh was ignorant of the name, was the first thing that he came across. It wasn’t a difficult location to aim for, since it did dominate quite a lot of area. The suffocating non-scent of Adhay was relinquished for a pleasingly disappointing… nothing. The air here was stubbornly neutral, which was oddly refreshing. The landscape was plain, but Dauh needed no masterpiece; he just needed something different. The small wolf, who had made his way onto a small mound of grassy earth, sat at the peak, and had an exquisite view of his surroundings. Subconsciously, he was probably on the lookout for evidence that this land lived, but all he could do was sit, breathe, and gently recharge.
“C’est la vie,” he spoke to the air, with only the barest hint of a question attached, but his vocal chords were just happy with being used. Had he had more faith in the chance that there was someone else out there, he would have thrown his head back in his species’ common, necessary cliché, but, for the moment at least, his own company was enough.

OoC -
What is this...? Thomas's first IC post?! After six months, two weeks, and four days of being a member?
Private thread with Dauh since Siki and I have been meaning to for so long. Only Shade can join in (whenver Juku wants to bring her in). Anyone else who wishes to join please ask the three of us. And I apologize for the post. I'm going to have to get used to Bobine. |
|
Bobine's favourite season had come upon this new land she found herself in. Lovely, glorious winter. The beautiful blanket of snow that served as her play ground, the peaceful silence that somehow escaped from all the other seasons, and the bond it created between pack members, keeping families together as they worked together to outlast the magical hardship...She sorely missed it.
Her favourite time had turned against her. She was now understanding why many creatures hated the cold months so-winter marked the death of another year, the death of thousands of greenery and animals, and it brought the death of spirit. Bobine's spirit was dying. And with that, her body. Her thick winter coat covered up her shrinking frame, but her lack of emotional company led to her severe depression dip. She was too tired to hunt, too tired to eat when she had the chance. She was too tired to howl for companions-especially after she had for so long and had no one answer her. She was too tired to do much of anything except put one paw in front of the other and walk in a blind haze, dropping to the ground to sleep wherever she got the urge to. Though, it wasn't exactly an urge-it was closer to a knock out. She simply passed out at times, fainting as her blood sugar lowered and lowered.
It was the worst period in her life. But all good things must come to an end as the saying goes, and Bobine's tired, exhausted eyes caught sight of something she hadn't seen in too long of a time: another wolf. She halted, stopping every movement, and simply stared. It was a strange looking wolf from a glance, was a male, and smaller than herself (which was odd) but Bobine didn't care. It was company. She didn't care if this wolf turned out to be a psychopath and killed her. At least she wouldn't die alone, as she had been thinking she would for so long now. She resolved to talk to this new thing and never let him out of her sight. He would get used to it.
Knowing he said something but not hearing what, Bobine trotted over, attempting to look calmer than she felt, and her body visibly shook when she was within five feet of him.
"W-will you s-stay wi-with me?"

edit; I don't think Dauh ever officially got a new rank, so I'll pretend he's still subordinate :D

It seemed like the emptiness of the land wasn’t messing with Dauh’s mind only. He had been sat for some time before there was any kind of movement. Winter tended to do that to a scene; everything died, even if temporarily. It was quite chilling, but then that was no surprise. Maybe Shaitan had migrated for the winter without telling him. Bastard.
However, remaining in this place was almost worth what happened next – almost. Almost mere moments after his utterance of the common little French phrase, as though it had been an irresistible bidding, life appeared. Despite his previous desperation for such an occurrence, however, Dauh seemed extremely unaffected; a slight turning of his petit head in the direction of the oncoming wolf, coupled by the swivel of one satellite ear, was the only indication that he had noticed at all. But of course he had noticed, for it would have been nonsensical otherwise – and the foreigner had definitely noticed him.
The stammered, unexpected plea of a greeting was met with quite a similarly unresponsive reaction. For a moment he said nothing, and did nothing, but a frown could not be resisted for long.
In an attempt to prolong the moment when he surely would have to answer, he decided to give the female a thorough inspection.
He saw nothing extraordinary. She could have been a potential threat had she not been so worse for wear – though it could still be an act, and he did not rule it out. Despite his automatic suspicions (a wolf as ‘delicate’ as he needed caution) instincts told him that there was little more to this girl than he had already detected. A quiet, steady growl warned her not to come any closer, for good measure – and he didn’t like to get too cosy this early on anyway.
“H’wat reezon weud maik eet wurrrth mai whaile?” he replied coolly, repressing the sneer he felt wanted to show itself. Had he not been wishing for some company? Beggars couldn’t be choosers, and even though Dauh felt himself far from a beggar, it couldn’t hurt to give the mademoiselle a chance.
