Dear All,

Tomorrow will be our Taoist La Ba Day (8th Day of Lunar 12 Month) 15 Jan 2008, this is a day that worth celebrating and remember.

On this day, remember to pay respect to Deities at home and your Ancestors, inform them that the Spring is coming and hope that they will give good blessing to you and your family in the coming New Year.

Besides that, if you are interested, can prepare the La Ba Porridge and distribute out to your family members, friends, neighbours, etc etc, let them have a feel of the joyous of our Lunar New Year. This is the Big Love that we promote in Taoism tongue.gif

So what are the ingredients?

Here's the suggested items that you can use:

Red Dates
Dried Longan
Lotus Seed
Bai He (can get in any supermarket or Chinese Medical Hall)
Red Beans
White Fugus (small pieces 1, remember to soak in water for an hour plus)
Sweet Melon Sticks
White Rice

If you don't like some of the ingredients, you can change to any auspicious items that you prefer, as long as there are 8 ingredients, it will be fine.

1st, cook a pot of hot water (according to the amount of the ingredients or people consuming), add in the Red Date, Longan, Bai He, White Fugus to cook for about 15-20 minutes.

After that, add in the Red Beans and Sweet Melon Sticks to cook for about 10 minutes.

And last, add in the White Rice.

Cook till all the ingredients soften or the White Rice break into small pieces.

At this time, taste the porridge. If its too blend, just add some Sugar to make it taste sweet. This is a Sweet dessert, so must be as sweet as possible tongue.gif (you can keep in fridge to make it a cold dessert, it will taste better)

If its ready, gather all the Family Members to come and have a taste of the La Ba Porridge, after eating it, all of you will be blessed with Sweetness and Luck.

Possible, remember to distribute out to all people that you know hor.
