Are you running to freedom's fortress? -- ooc
Only open to a Queensboro Plaza wolf. Private to the first wolf to reply.
Where the wolf is one with the wild? -- ic
In body, she was in the abandoned subway system of her new packlands, but in mind she was drifting back to her old packlands, the dusty outskirts of the world. It was a horrible scene, tufts of torn fur and splatters of blood lying around the area. It smelled of death. One living thing, next to Sanuye, sat, gazing out over the distance.
He was an old wolf, his fur silvering with age. He was staring out, his body turned away from the shadowy form of Sanuye. His ear twitched, revealing that something told him that there was a presence. He seemed to know that it was she. Sanuye... he murmured, his voice hoarse and ragged. Now you know what has become of us... war has torn apart these once beautiful lands. I'm glad that you could escape, for it seems that I am one of the few remaining... and my minutes are quickly leaving me... His voice was broken by a hideous chorus of coughing, and wounds on his head and side were visible as pure red blood boiled up from underneath his fur.
He shook his great silver head, his shoulders slumping and his eyes growing cloudy. I never thought that anyone would attack the Elder... but I was wrong. I knew that you'd have a life beyond this massacre, and I hope I am right. Please, live on without all of this, and regret not any choice. Live life as you now have it, not as we have... His voice drew short, his breath shorter. He turned his head, eyes staring blankly at the place where he thought Sanuye was. He smiled faintly before, almost in slow motion, fell to the side...
And Sanuye woke up. She had been asleep, dead asleep, by the side of the river that wound its way through the subway system of New York City. She stumbled upwards, her eyes clouded with thought. She dipped her still-wounded paw, oozing a bit of blood still, into the water. She recited, almost subconciously, the words that her teacher in the old pack had told her. "Water, the first healing element, and the most useful. It cleans wounds and generally is used for all types of fever and other sicknesses. When in doubt, make the patient drink water and bathe the wound with it, if there is a wound..." She smiled faintly as the soothing liquid washed away the old blood and stopped the slight bleeding. She was at peace in her new home, despite the troubling images of her previous dream.
