Say your opinions, discuss the matter, state what camera you have, etc.

I can't do film processing, of course, but i'd appreciate film photography more than digital, perhaps because I know how to do digital image processing, more or less, while film processing is still a mystery to me.

When I was a young kid, My father had a nikon camera, one of his treasured possesion from his younger days, beside a guitar and some books written in german and dutch.
I sometimes was allowed to play with that camera, even photograph some shots for the product catalogue (He used to run a wrought iron business). Don't you also love that feeling after taking a shot, then you have to reel the film roll for the next one. I loved doing that.
Anyway, mum sold it for a little over a million rupiah...converts to about $200...and £100

I know have a Sony DSC-[something] 5.1 megapixels which I bought 2 years ago for $500. It doesn't quite do the trick, of course, but better than nothing. If I had a great camera, maybe I'll be happy to spend time learning and doing photography.

I prefer to do things using traditional film instead of by digital method. Problem is, the whole process takes longer to do and sometimes isn't as convenient as carrying around a digital camera and just snapping a shot of something.

I only have the chance to take any photographs when my uncle comes to visit with his Nikon FM3A, and when I do get to play, I spend days outside taking pictures. Also, I despise the people that think that photography is something you "learn", you should discover new things, let it come naturally instead of trying to force it.

Well, it's an art, so you're right, you don't learn this. But still, there are some basics that must be learned, like how to operate things, what this and that term means, etc. Just like when I started photoshop.
From then on, it's a wonderful thing. But the technical stuff, still has to be learned...
