It reminds me a lot of either Everquest 2 or Guild Wars. Or a little of both? I'm not exactly sure which, since it's been a while since Ive played either....

Personally I think Im more interested in the fact that its the lord of the rings than the actual style of play.

Ive never played guildwars or everquest so I dont know what they are like, as long as its playable and I get to hit proper orcs* with pointy metal sticks.

proper orcs - corrupted forms or men/elves , not gigantic hulk lookalikes with tusks that go 'waagh' or whatever =P

Definitely nice. I choose it over what I've seen from Guildwars.

from the brief videos Ive seen on youtube, it looks okay. which is all i really need im hoping ill probably get overloaded on giddyness that its lotr and play it without any controls on screen at all. total immersion. I really liked how the bows were used, i hope non hunter classes can use bows!

I also hope guardians can wield 2h weapons or im snookered

I sent in my request after I got my Founder status, so if I get sent one it should be soon since it says in the pre-order thing that having Founder Status gives you a slight bonus on getting selecting for the closed beta. That and being an officer of a kinship but *shrugs*

I get that every time I launch the game. My internet works fine and I don't even have a firewall up. Anyone?

Not currently...I have been able to play games in the past though. Although I had a hell of a lot of trouble with BFME2

Welp I'll be on most of this weekend. Definitely all day Saturday but I doubt I'll be on Sunday, so like Friday, Saturday, some of Sunday, and late monday I'll be on. So which server we going to meet on? I vote Brandywine

Right now my only character is in Meneldor. Is there a way to switch him to Brandywine? If not I guess I can just create a new guy in Brandywine if we vote to use that server.

Heh it doesn't matter to me really, just that we agree on a server before friday Only time I'll be able to play will be this stress test until open beta unless they actually let me into the closed beta in the next week or so....

I don't think I will be using Arawan once it actually launches...I just got impatient with the naming process and decided to use one of my old RP names. I'm also kinda bored with the hunter. It is very fun at first but the novelty wears off. I will probably end up being a loremaster or champion.

Champion all the way for me. It's the only class set up that fits me the most. But yeah if edraitheru is taken I'll propably use one of my many names that I use in RPG's. *shrugs*

Earandur will probably be taken...I tried at least 5 or 6 fairly unique names and they were all taken. Edraitheru is pretty original so I doubt anyone will have it.

What I hate are the people join using your name and then leave - so basically your name is taken but not even in use by the thief. I think that's what happened with Eoden, I've tried messeging/friending whoever is named Eoden and they haven't answered.

lol yeah I had that problem with FFXI and DDO (What little I played of it) but I've seen a few people on the forums that had edraitheru, albeit I haven't seen them in a year or so, you never know.

Well, RoF is up for the rest of Closed Beta. It's actually been up for a while. If you see me on PM me. I'm make sure to aquiesce? (sp?) leadership to my elders. If you don't awfully mind I've inducted a couple good LOTR friends in to pass the time left in Beta. I'll see if I can't send them forumside. Since NDA is poof I think we can get those on the inside together.

Ah good. I should be on a fair amount today (Thursday) and I'll be on what I can Friday. We're spiffing up the house for when we move.

Well I got my closed beta invite today so I'm already in. Edraitheru was indeed taken so I went with Fynrithir, if they allowed a ' it would look better (Fyn'Rithir) Anyways I got some things to take care of in the next couple hours and I gotta work tomorrow night so I'll be on for a little bit tonight and all day saturday so you guys hit me up whenever.

I'll add all you guys then throw the invites your way. Eoden get's leadership and I'll let one of you guys found us in Live and/or Open.

Just a suggestion, I'm still only like a lvl 5...and I'm still working the kinks out. One of you (if you want to) can hold onto leadership until I've gotten more familiar with the game. If not, I'll take leadership, but there won't be much of a chain of command...we're all in this together till we've all got it familiarized.

Well yeah I'm only like lvl 6 so yeah we got a lot of familiarizing to do and besides I don't think we're near each other right now. I'm in Ered luin......

I'm lvl 6 too...but as soon as I level up one more time I'll be doing the last intro quest and I'll be out of Archet.

im lvl 14 and done every quest up to bree and now theyre kinda hard

I can't wait till this stress test ends...half the noobs will filter out and the lagging won't be as bad (but I'm gonna end up lagging anyway, need a new gfx card I think). Ara I'll add you to the kin next time I get on, which should be tonight.

I'm going to mess with a captain and a guardian as well. When the game finally hits I think I'll have 3 characters to fill in the gaps in our parties when we need it because it seems to me we're going to have mainly hunters and champions, so I think I'll have 3 mains. Anyways if you want to add my other two characters to the kin, my captain is Belrandir and my guardian is Baldorin. But it's movie night so I must retire for a couple hours.

And yes the stress test is killing me too >.< And the newbs stealing my kills and half my xp.
