Entrance Double oak front doors, opening to the west. Large, cavernous room, lit by torches, with ceiling so high it's barely visible. Wide marble staircase opposite the front doors (east wall) leads up to first floor. Double doors to the right (south wall) lead into the Great Hall. On the east wall are two doors, one on either side of the staircase. To the north of the staircase is a door leading down a flight of steps to the first dungeon level. To the south is a door leading to the Hufflepuff common room and the kitchens. On the left (north wall) is a door leading to a smaller antechamber where First Years wait to be sorted. Classes Classes at Hogwarts are taught in a variety of locations about the castle. Some, such as Charms, are taught in classrooms inside the castle. Others take place in the greenhouses (Herbology), in the dungeons (Potions), at the top of a tower (Astronomy), or even outside on the grounds (Flying and Care of Magical Creatures). A booming bell sounds throughout the castle and across the lawns to signal the end of class. Library The Hogwarts library contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. Included in its many sections is an Invisibility Section, a section with information about dragon, and a Restricted Section at the back, set off with a rope. A signed note from a teacher is required to peruse that section of the library; it contains books of Dark Magic only used by older students studying advanced Defence Against the Dark Arts.

Room of Requirement The Room of Requirement is a magical room which can only be discovered by someone who is in need. It is called the Come and Go Room by the house-elves of Hogwarts. The Room is located on the seventh floor, opposite a tapestry showing Barnabas the Barmy trying to teach trolls to dance the ballet. To make the Room appear, a person has to walk past the section of blank wall three times concentrating hard on what is needed.

Bathrooms The bathrooms are where girls do their make up and gossip to endless amounts of times. Boys are different, they just go in, do their thing and walk right back out. On the other hand, Prefects have more previledges and they go there to talk, gossip and sometimes, they even take baths there. In Hogwarts bathrooms are large and stone maden places. They includes big series of sinks opposite of the toilets in special cabinets. [Boys] [Girls] [Prefects]

Corridors A moving tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy, depicting his foolish attempt to train trolls for the ballet, hangs on the 7th floor of Hogwarts Castle, opposite the entrance to the Room of Requirement. That stretch of corridor has a window on one end and a man-sized vase at the other. There's a statue of Lachlan the Lanky on the seventh floor to the right of the top of the stairs, between the stairs and the Fat Lady's portrait. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rulebreaking will lose house points. Hogsmeade Hogsmeade is the only entirely wizarding village in Britain. It's a picturesque village of little thatched cottages and shops. During the holiday season, enchanted candles hang in the trees. Hogwarts is located quite near the village; a road runs around the school grounds to Hogsmeade Station, where the Hogwarts Express stops to disembark the students at the start of term. According to tradition, Hogsmeade was founded about the same time as Hogwarts by Hengist of Woodcroft, who was fleeing persecution by Muggles. Number 12, Grimmauld Place Protected by heavy magic, and invisible to eye and unthinking mind, Number 12, Grimmauld Place, the old, old house of the pure-blooded and beautiful Blacks, is now headquarters to the Order of the Phoenix. The house is rather worn and shabby, and somewhat inhabitable. However, much patience and cleaning is required when dealing with this home. The chandelier and candelabra are shaped like serpents, and are very dusty. Some odd and grotesque ornamentations to the house are: an umbrella stand made from a troll's leg, the severed heads of an entire line of house-elves, and screaming portraits of the Black family. Even though the house is dark and foreboding, it is clear that the Black family was not at all poor, in fact they were rather rich.

St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries Many wizards and witches get themselves into a spot of trouble. If the case is very severe, or the witch or wizard in question is unable to heal themselves, a healer at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries would be happy to assist them (you). St. Mungo's, or to the muggle-eye called 'Purge and Dowse Ltd.' There are six floors to St. Mungo's. The Ground Floor is where you enter, and where you stay if you have had an Artifact Accident. The First Floor is where you go if you have a Creature-Induced Injury. The Second Floor for Magical Bugs, the third for Potion and Plant Poisoning, the fourth for Spell Damage, and of course, every hospital must have a 'Visitor's Tea Room and Hospital Shop,' which here is located on the fifth floor. Apparently, the welcome witch will be splendiferously happy to assist you if you need assistance. Be careful!

Ministry of Magic The headquarters of the Ministry of Magic is located in the heart of London. The actual structure is all underground, although magical windows show whatever weather Magical Maintenance has chosen for the day, from bright sunshine to hurricanes.

Azkaban Azkaban is a terrible place. The prisoners there are guarded by Dementors, horrible creatures who have been described as "sightless soul-sucking fiends." They feed on positive emotions, which means that after spending much time in the prison, the prisoners lose all hope and all good feelings and thoughts. They prisoners are forced to relive the darkest, most horrible memories of their lives. Some go mad, others simply despair and die.
