![]() Note: This contains rank, goverment, and other territory info of the Ancient-Distance.
** Rank Descriptions ** Chieftain - (1) The top of the “Social Pyramid.” They over all ruler of the territory. His/her word is law and he/she has the final say. When a Chieftain dies, no one may rule after him until the next eclipse of the moon. So if the Ancient-Distance was to be leaderless for awhile, his prophets would rule for him. The Chieftain has no interpretation powers like the prophets, he must come to them or vice versa. They may fight in battles if it is their wish. If she-cat, may not have kits. Prophets - (3) Next under the Chieftain. They do not fight, nor do they become leader. They may lead the Ancient-Distance if their leader was to die and they were to wait for the next eclipse of the moon. The eclipse of the moon is said to be when prophetic dreams are the strongest, and where they would receive the dream of who was to succeed the former Chieftain. They have the dream interpretation powers. There are three of them because every few days they hold the Counsel of the Prophets, where they hold a meeting based on any strange findings of over the few days. If she-cat, may not have kits. Court Justice - (1) The over seer that the rules are followed and punishment are undergo wed. They may fight in wars if commanded to, but it is often very rare. No prophetic powers. They normally are older, retired soldiers, because the Chieftain would prefer not to waist any good solider. If she-cat, may not have kits.
(Commander) Spy - (4) Those working for the leader in finding out about the surrounding land. Their is one spy for each clan. So each spy has its own clan that they will eventually specify in. They do fight in wars, and when they do they carry the title “Commander ________” (their name would follow) Ex. Commander Lucifer. They are really the same as the Court Justice, for they don’t really have any respect for the old in the Ancient-Distances. They are normally fed after the leader, then the Justice eats. So it is almost as if the Court Justice isn’t that important. If she-cat, may not have kits. Mark Captains - (7) Those working to run the slavery part of the Ancient-Distance. They each own 1/7 of the slave population that they are in charge of keeping orderly and running the Distance. If the Slaves are to something against their rules, they are to be sent to the Court Justice along with their Mark Captains. They may fight on occasion, mostly when their slaves are ordered to fight as well. If she-cat may have kits, and will have someone temporarily step in their place. Mentors - (2) Those who teach the young soldiers or spies on how to become on. They are naturally either a retired spy or soldier. They do not fight. They eat near the front. There are two because one is to teach spies, (Which takes longer because you have to wait for an opening to become one.) and one teaches soldiers. If she-cat, may not have kits. (Retired anyway.) Runners - (Unlimited) Those who scout ahead of the raiding party. Fully trained by the mentors. Fight in wars. Valued over the Soldiers. Those who did better on their 12 moon exam than others. Soldiers - (Unlimited) Fully fledged soldiers. Fully trained by the mentors in the way of fighting and intermediate hunting. They always fight in wars. They are more of a middle class men. If she-cat may have kits. Birth Mothers - (Unlimited) She-cats that are temporarily retired soldiers nursing or expecting kits. When the litter is grown (The age of four and a half moons) they move back to their place before the kits. May not fight in battles. Trainees of the Mentors - (Unlimited) Those older than four and a half moons or those just at that age mark training or beginning their training. They are underfed, because they wish for them to learn how to steal, but if they are caught, there is a minor chastisement that doesn’t need the Court Justice. May fighting in battles.
At four 1/2 moons they begin their training. The training for the season consist of: Basic hunting, basic scrounging. (No fighting.)
Kits- (Unlimited) [A Birth Mother may have only up to a litter of three.] She-cats or toms younger than four 1/2 moons. In waiting to begin the teaching where they are assigned by the Chieftain what they will be trained to be. (May not leave the Central Distance.) Slaves - (Unlimited) Prisoners of war or captives of past raids. Cats may be put into this class if they are in need of severe punishment, but such thing is rare. If a slave is unable to continue to work, they are killed. Slaves live in The Compound, a clearing not far from The Central Distance that is surrounded by thorns, only the Mark Captains know how to get in and out. They may fight in battles occasion
** Minor Code **
-- Rule: You will not be caught stealing.
-- Rule: Kits may not leave the Central Distance.
-- Rule: Leaders, Prophets, Court Justice, and Spies, my not have kits.
-- Rule: Slaves may not leave the compound unless directed by the Chieftain.
-- Rule: You are not to raid the other clans unless under orders.
-- Rule: No one shall eat before the Chieftain.
-- Rule: After the Chieftain eats, the Prophets will be served their share by servants. Then Spies and the Court Justice, then the Mark Captains and the Birth Mothers (the kits as well.) Last, the Mentors, the Students, Runners, and the Soldiers. Slaves get fed at midnight.
** Specified Code ** First: is the Ancient-Distance. Keep to the Code with your life. You will not besmirch the Code or the Distance. Those who do shall be severely punished or exiled. Protect the Distance with your life. If treachery be your meaning, your life you’ll loose. Second: is the Territory. Guard it with your life. Let no trespassers walk upon the land without grant and get away with it. Let them be taken prisoners. Do not kill. No one shall kill without permission. Trespassers shall be immediately taken to the Chieftain, no questions asked. Third: is the Future. Guard it with our life as you do everything else. Think about what you are doing, if it harms the Distance, the Ancient-Distance harms you. -- After each Trainee becomes a Runner/Soldier/Spy, they receive a “last name.” Each secondary name, is individual. It will not be passed down in generations unless said Trainee possess the qualities of the name. The secondary name may be anything, two syllables, five. Ex. Twi Bigfang. Names ay be changed is the Prophet and the said cat accept, but it is a lengthy process and is semi looked down upon.
Religion: is rather lowly and non important to the Ancient-Distance as a whole. Each cat may posses his or her own specify religion they may even believe in StarClan if they wish. Since religion does not govern the cats, therefore (StarClan is more likely to govern.) it is not a key thing or something major amongst the cats. Couples //----To Come----\\
Exile and Execution
** History ** The history is very short. Most of it simply consists of that of Lucifer’s life, and the blood battle that took place for it. It all happened when Lucifer met Stone, Crow, ect. He, had to drive them from his territory, or win the fight, to claim the territory as his own. Lucifer eventually won and claimed the territory as his own, constructed the government and code, and moved on from there. --To be contiued
** Hierarchy **
Chieftain - Lucifer (Snakehiss)
Mark Captains - ---, ---, ---, ---, ---, ---, ---
Trainees - --- ~> Slaves- --- ~> ((I believe Eberus wants a Court Justice rank.)) *~> = Unlimited in number, spots still open. |
