DuskClan Camp The DuskClan camp is sheltered in the depths of a dense forest, hidden by numerous ferns and brambles. The trees grow close together, making leaving and entering both a hassle. However, the forest fans out and opens into a small, narrow clearing; the grass dusted away from generations of paws. On the other side, the woodland grows thickest. As for the camp... Greenstar's den is located on the far side of the narrow clearing, where the trees are thin, but one daring oak stands tall and firm; with upped roots and a dug out hollow just beneath. Another such tree resides on the other side of the clearing, which leads out to the Training Hollow. Here, the medicine cat and their apprentice settle the herbs. As for their sleeping place, a few dugouts just below some thick patches of thorn bush work fine. In the thickest of the undergrowth (on the opposing side of the clearing, where the trees grow densest) the warriors and apprentices have dug out their dens below the sheltered roofs of brambles and bracken. Elders have been given a fallen tree for sheltered, where over the ages the inside has worn away. The log has been purposefully placed near the large oak beside the medicine cat's dens', for easy reach in case of trouble. Queens and their kits also share the fallen log. Warriors and apprentices share fresh kill in the center of the clearing, and the pile is filled just between their dens; in a hole dug just for that. In the center most part of the clearing, Greenstar stands to call his clan to meet, and to name apprentices and warriors. |

Training Hollow By leaving the camp from the medicine cat's, and traveling toward SunClan territory, you can come upon the Training Hollow. (Farther out would of course, be the Open Rocks, but apprentices have to wait before going out there on their own.) The hollow is rather steep, but if you know where to go, then you can get your footing on roots and stones that jut outward, and make it easily down. The hollow is rather sandy, and during greenleaf, can be a bit moist. Because there aren't any trees in the sandy hollow, snakes like to come and sunbathe on the surface of the rocks and sand; which collect heat like lizards! Adders are a rare sight, but rather, corn and rat snakes. Apprentices will learn different techniques from their mentors here; and maybe even a snake or two if they're not careful! However, fighting tactics aren't all that are to be learned here. Hunting skills, and stealthy paws can be gained from many moons of practice... Leaving the sandy floors of the hollow, one can find themselves on flat graystone; where birds like to pick for seeds in the cracks. Adders prefer sunning on these rocks, and if a cat were to venture farther into the vast open, they would soon find themselves on the Open Rocks... |

Open Rocks These rocks provide a wealthy sunning spot for snakes and lizards of all kinds; but be wary, as adders frequent the gray stone more so than any other. While on the warning note: Blue-tailed lizards also sun themselves here. Any cat that might eat one, or be lucky enough to catch for that matter can get sick from it. Bellyache might be the most common of side effects, but who's to say a cat couldn't catch a fever from a lizard either? Aside from that, the Open Rocks can play host to other, better, prey. Such as mice, birds, and perhaps the less frequent water vole. Only older cats and warriors might venture out here; it's strictly off limits to any apprentice because of the dangerous adders and vast, open rock faces. It's easy to get lost out on the Open Rocks, and even worse, it's very hot and dry out over them as well. Stick close to the forest; all prey know that! If one were to travel straight, and follow the jagged crack where grass and dandelions grow, they would find themselves at the boundary waters of the Border Streams. The Open Rocks slope steeply downward, and have been smoothed away by the years of rushing water... |

Border Streams Even in leafbare, these streams run strong. But on the DuskClan side, the Open Rocks don't provide such an eager surface to fish from. However, on the SunClan side, the rocks are less, and have been replaced there by sand and pebbles. SunClan cats are excellent fishers and swimmers; perhaps the best out of all four clans. The Border Streams fan out into three separate streams, which SunClan make the most of. DuskClan have no use for the streams, other than for the boundaries of DuskClan and SunClan territory. In the streams, fish of all kinds reside; as well as frogs, crawfish, and the like. On the less rocky parts of the shores, reeds and other such plants grow... |

Mixed Trees The DuskClan border with DawnClan; filled with different deciduous and coniferous trees. Aside from the different plant life that grows around the base of the trees, an array of prey also live here. Mice and thrush prefer picking around the leaves for seeds, while squirrels stick to the roots and trunk for nuts... but foxes also like this area; because it is prey-plenty. Being near Twoleg territory makes these foxes a little more stubborn, and willing to take on a cat. Apprentices should only come here with a mentor, or while on border patrol. Thankfully there is a bounty of high limbed trees, which foxes can't climb; and if the patrol is big enough, it's advised to chase the fox away. |
