Hmm...well, what I've said still stands. And yeah, I agree that running an RP CAN be a big headache, but it still does pay off. And Bob and George is seriously over? For good?

Holy crows. I just pulled up Bob and George for the heck of it after you said it was over. It hasn't been updated since July? That's a first.
From what I can decipher from the main page it's on a very long hiatus. Which, in the online comic market we call "Yup, it's over". Dang... Seven years is a good run for it though. And yeah, leading RPs is fun when you have the modivation and aren't paired with n00bs or God-modes. I've never found it to be a headache though aside from starting ideas. Once I get the idea I'm usually good to go until the end. I've seen two of my three time frames through to the end actually. :3 -------------------- |

I feel responsible for such! *Puts on shades* =p
Once in a while too, I'll go to Sprites INC. I sent out an affiliation e-mail to the guy in charge but he never got back to me. -------------------- ![]() |

Bob and George as a Megaman sprite comic is over. Right now the author is just rerunning the comic and updating commentary for the archived strips. After all the comics have been run through again (at the rate of two a day) Dave is planning to do a hand drawn Bob and George strip that takes place in thier original dimension and not involve the Megaman characters.
Though I suppose they could pop in as filler or in flashbacks . . . |

So, he's looping the comic and using the archives to update with? That's.... wow. Good for him for drawing something now. Should be interesting to see.
Do you know how far he got through the MM games before that happened? -------------------- |

I think he made it through MM6 . . . I don't think he made it to going through MM7 before the whole army of ninjas showed up and Bob implemented his final plan to put an end to the comic.
Yeah, MM6 is the last one I remember him doing. So he didn't do MM7 or MM8. None of the MMX games were parodied. He is still updating the subcomics that are still alive. MSpaint Masterpiece, the MEtroid one, and a few others. The rest that have ended or not updated in a few years are now archived. I think he used the final story arc of the comic to introduce some of the other characters for the hand drawn comic. |

I think your sentiments here reflect a decent majority of us "older" fans, the fandom may just be shifting to a new group of people who don't care about the good ol days any more :P i personally miss a lot of the stuff we used to have as fans, but oh well. comes with the times i guess -------------------- "The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. I don't know, I personally like were ZX is heading, seems like good territory. If it can just keep up the momentum.

If Capcom would just realize their VAs for their games can't reach the standards of Japanese voice actors I would be glad. I'm enjoying the heck out of ZX: A, but I want to pull my eardrums out with forks everytime model A opens his mouth. Same went for Ashe in the opening. She says "booty" almost ten times just in the first five minutes!
I agree with Tim though... the fandom's changing generally all around. Which may or may not be a good thing sometimes. -------------------- |

I need to try ZX, it's the only megaman game I have not tried out really. I know i am being a bit old fashioned lol i just miss the x games and old school megaman games, it's what i grew up with.
Yeah I bet it is good, I really need to get my butt back into megman games and fandom. I know with older fans it's kinda split, at least from my observation. Some of my old time megaman friends (old time is about maybe 4-5 years ago i'd say) have really blasted straight ahead into ZX, some of them hate it, and some, like me, have been too lazy to try it XDDD For me after megaman x8 and command mission, i got so lazy and havn't bothered to buy anything new at all. I also got even lazier since i finished the bass comic. I think the laziness for me is just due to needing a break from the fan art and fan comics, that particular comic i was drawing for almost 6 years and when i finally finished i got a huge relief. XD I think though more and more we are going to see new sites popping up allo ver the place, which are going to attract fans new and old, and in turn i think the old sites which refuse to go with the times will get run down and left as ghost towns. This of course is just an opinion but it's just something i see happening. People just get sick of sites, especially if the site sucks already. Sites like the Iragination forums were just ripe for change, becasue of all the fowl play that was going on, when it shut down i was kinda not surprised X__X -------------------- "The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. I also wanna try ZX. As a fan of having humans and Reploids as separate, not equal, it doesn't appeal to my senses in that storyline effect. However, I'll give it a shot. If I find it to be a solid game, I'll make sure to pick it up whenever I get a DS.

I don't really care much for the Human / Reploid thing in the X series since it never seemed to be brought up as much in the X universe. Then again, you couldn't talk to people like in the Zero and ZX series to get a background of the world at that time.

I sorta filled in the human end with my own AU stuff. Rick Cressen, anyone?
It's really sad they never explored that any in the X series though. I always felt like adding a human doing vigilante work would be a great way to add some dynamic and depth into the series, but alas, they wouldn't do that. -------------------- ![]() |

They don't really go into anything about the Human/Reploid seperation in ZX really aside that 'it's there'. ... or at least any that I've noticed. It gets kind of irritating when you can't tell who is what species though for argument's sake.
I understand it, but as for 'reality' sake, why WOULD you give Reploid's lifespans? (Though on the other side of the coin if I were a Reploid and immortal I'd not want to live forever either). Unless they go Maverick or something they're pretty much good policers who can own anything.. I kind of like the idea, though, myself. It goes in hand with what I do for my RPs for Reploids being more Human. -------------------- |

Supposedly the reason for reploids having lifespans is that the guys running the ZX world wanted to create equality between humans and reploids. That meant making humans more like reploids and reploids more like humans - pre-set lifespan included.
Though you could argue that reploids might have had built in lifespans from the start as the companies building them probably would have done planned obsolesence in order to make sure there would be a market for thier newer model reploids. |

Even then, with all the maverick wars, it's not like you'd reach the end of the 21XX era anyways.
Besides, I'm quite sure that somebody figured out a way to get around that. I also like how they switched main characters for ZXA, kept things fresh and new. Now, if they can only use an origional character for the next one instead of the same X, Zero, or Axl clone / Bio-Metal. -------------------- |

Capcom is really lazy. They'll probably come up with some combo bio-metal of the three and call it the ZAX biometal or something. =p

i agree Capcom has kinda thrown the megaman series to the side. We barely see a game or two now, and many of their other games have been blooming. Maybe this is why the fan base is changeing, the old fans are sick of waiting for an ew X or classic game? XDDD I would love a new X game or even (gasp) another command mission or LEGENDS 3 , both of which I doubt will ever come out. Oh well here;'s to hoping -------------------- "The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. Maybe we should do what those guys at New Horizon are doing and just make our own game. That'll show Capcom what for.
