Chimeraman: Okay, I'll try explaining them a bit better, but I don't know if this will clear up what you want to know.
0 Unit - This is about stealth. The members of this unit are student of ninjitsu, their purpose is to go unseen. Usually, they deploy the Shinobi Unit to steal documents and other things that are located deep inside. They go in unnoticed, and leave unnoticed, like Ninja. 1st Unit - Soldier Veterans. These are Hunters that have seen field time and know how to fight, they're fairly adaptable, so they help out the Regional Units most of the time. They also work with the 3rd Unit. 2nd Unit - It's about Speed. WHen you have fast mavericks on the run, these are the ones that specialize in speed-battles. 3rd Unit - New Soldiers. These are new recruits that have not seen a lot of field time, some of them haven't been alive for more than a month, either. They're also the unofficial "City Region" Unit, they're always on call, and they're the bulk of the hunters. 4th Unit - Geurilla Warfare. It takes a special kind of Hunter to try and hunt in the jungle. It's completely different than fightnig MAvericks in the jungle. 5th Unit - Tacticians, and War Planners. A unit of tactical geniuses that make the plans to defeat armies of enemies, swiftly and stongly like Lightning. 6th Unit - The Navy. Do I have to explain this one? 7th Unit - The Air Force. Same as 6th Unit. 8th Unit - Tanks and Ride Armors. If you want to take down buildings, fortresses, Armored Vehicles or large mavericks, the Armored Unit has the power to knock them down. 9th Unit - The SWAT team. This unit specializes in neutralizing groups of Mavericks. If you have a hostage situation, (or something similar) this team is trained to do that. 10th Unit - Sceintists. These don't see much field time. They stay in the bases, studing Mavericks and the virus, as well as analysing anyother strange happenings. Besides that, they're also Hunter R&D, perfecting Hunter weapons and armor. 11th Unit - Snipers - You have to take out a target from a distance, this is where you'll find the Hunter to do that. 12th Unit - Desert Soldiers - reploids that have adapted to hunting in the desert. 13th Unit - FIghting in cold climate. These Hunters are adapted and trained to fight in extremely cold conditions. 14th Unit - Street FIghters - Reploid that are trained in martial arts, and fighting with their hands. 15th Unit - Medics and DOctors - Hunters that have chosen to learn medicine. Some are field medics, others are doctors in the bases. 16th Unit - The restoration unit - They rebuild the areas taht have been hit by Maverick attacks, aswell as rebuilt the destroyed areas of the Earth. 17th Unit - Single Maverick Elimination - Masters of both long range and shortrange fighting. When you have a single Maverick that has taken over a factory or something, the 17th is the most skilled. They're sent in when the posibility of encoutering a team of highly skilled Mavericks is slim. 18th Unit - Computer Hackers - Since the majority of information is transmitted digitally in 21XX, these computer experts probe the world-wide-web for information on Mavericks. They're the opposite half of the Shinobi, while the ninjas steal physical iteam, the hackers steal "digital" items. So, for your characters, they'd probably fall under the 9th Unit, as one of the squads in the SWAT team. The 9th Unit, is part of the Slasher Units, who neutralize Mavericks swiftly. 17th does single Mavs, 9th does groups, and the 5th takes on armies. -------------------- |

I'm sure you mean that in a non-sacriligeous way.
More Charcter Sheets. Name: Magenta Race: Reploid, Cain Class Age: 4 yrs Height: 5'7" Weight: Average Weapons: Standard arm blaster. Special Abilities: Can hack another reploid's systems and disable them without the use of force. Physical Descrpition: Usually dressed in a white lab coat. His armor is simple and red, so are his boots. His hair silver/grey, and his eyes are amber-colored. his skin is fair. His look displays his attitude of a calculating scienctist. Personality: Distant and cold. For the leader of the Science Unit, the only thing that matters is getting his research done. Fighting Style: Shooting Likes: progress Dislikes: failed experiments Backstory: The leader of the Science Unit has always been an island among the rest of the Maverick Hunters, while the rest of the unit handles the R&D and Viral Analysis, Mageta gets his own orders directly from Signas himself. I'll get these out of the way, then add a little more about the organization. Name: Battle Turtle Race: Animaloid, Hunter Class, Grade-B Age: 6 yrs height: 5' Weight: Heavy Weapons: A hollow shell filled with missels Special Abilities: He can tuck his limbs and head into his shell for added protection. Many rookies, who don't know the old turtle's battle prowless, taunt the Colonel behind his back, and they are astaunded when they do see the turtle sage in action. Name: Cyber Beetle Race: Animaloid, Hunter Class, Grade-B Age: 7 yrs Height: 6'7" Weight: Heavy Weapons: Standard Arm Blaster Special Abilities: Class-SSS Hacker Physical Description: A giant rhinocerous beetle, primarily colored blue and silver. Personality: A bit excentric, but overall a decent person. Fighting Style: None Likes: Chat Rooms Dislikes: Hot Temperatures Background: Very simply, a Grade B officer. Now, I have to address what, in my opinion, is the biggest problem of the Hunters. Their biggest conflict the value of the Individual vs the Group. When the hunters were originally founded, (in my version) they were small, and that allowed the individual to actually stand out. WHen they became much larger, it became harder to be recongnized within the organization. Now, the units are more apart than ever, while they DO work together, gee... I gotta go suddenly. Later. I'm back. Now, as I was saying, the biggest problem for the Hunters is that they are separated, and feel no need to unite. What I mean is that the Hunters in the Specialist Units, Regional Units, and Slasher Units think that they are better than the hunters in the Legions. This is bad, because even though the soldiers in the other units think they are better than the soldiers in the Legions, the five Generals of the Legions out rank the commanders of the other units. This is a break in the chain of command that they don’t want to fix. You see, only 1 out of 12 Hunters will ever make it out of the Legions and into the other units, but at the same time, 1 of 12 hunters will die in his first year. Hence, the arrogance. BTW, I’m speaking in generalized terms; it’s not true for all instances. Things would be a lot easier if the other units were absorbed into the Legions, but the other soldiers and commanders don’t want that. Because if they did, not only would they be back into a place they fought hard to get out of, but then, they’d also be a soldier in an army of over a million, instead of a Hunter inside of a unit of a couple of thousands. Besides this, the denominations are also divided against themselves. The Legions, for example, don’t like to be grouped together, because in reality each branch is different. You have the Army (3rd Unit), Navy (6th Unit) and Air Force (7th Unit) which are all different, plus the veteran hunters (1st Unit) who don’t like to be automatically associated with the rookies in the 3rd Unit, and the Lightning Unit is also classified as a Slasher Unit. And, the 3rd is the unofficial City Region unit, which divides them more. Despite all this, they are still the largest units, and therefore the driving force of the Hunters. Ironically, the Regions, who are easiest to divide, suffer very little problems amongst themselves: they are separate and never the twain shall meet. The Specialist Units, however, also isolate themselves from each other, whenever they aren’t separating themselves from the Legions. The Medical, Hacker, Science, and Restoration Units have been tagged by the Melee Unit as “nerds,” “lab-jockeys,” “wall-flowers,” and “the Sit-down Club,” because they see so very little field time. Not to be out done, the Sit-down Club label the Melee and Rider Units as “Barbarians,” “Firebreathers,” “Bullshitters,” and “Caveloids,” which was a name that never caught on. Finally, the ladies in the labs call the cool, confidant, collected members of the Shinobi and Sniper Units the “Zero Club,” after Zero himself, because he exudes confidence without being obnoxious. That’s right, chicks dig Ninjas and Snipers. The Armored Unit does not carry any particular denotation, and usually depends who you ask and who you’re asking about. The elite Slasher Units don’t have much division, no unlike the Regions. Their main conflict is that one of them (the 5th Unit) is headed by a General, while the other two are only Colonels. -------------------- |

^ Thanks, I guess. Really, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, 'cause a lot more people have written a lot better descriptions for their characters than me. I am happy about my Maverick Hunter Unit set up.
If you liked my Hunter Units, I've got a new thread where I describe the other stuff I've made up. One positive thing about my Units is that since Capcom has decided to go back and remake the games, it doesn't look like they'll completely destroy my version anytime soon. -------------------- |

Don't mind thm having better descriptions, you've put IDEAS into your stuff. most people may have orginizations, but they're often just a squad, not the whole orginization.
Yeah, but that's for the red alert syndicate.
They may end up adopting it if you send it in. I'm serious dude. what you have is a well thought out system. it might start after X4, but still... Unit 17 was just X during X1 and X2. X3 onward there were others.

Actually, I'm only starting wit the Red Alert, later in the post I started to talk about the Maverick Classes. And, honestly, I'm flattered that you all like my system, and like I told The Variable 21XX, one of my hopes is that my Hunter system will become popular fanon, like how people think Bass and Roll like each other. Okay, to add more relavance to this post, I'll add on a description of the Pressure Point System that the 14th Melee Units use. Without getting into too much detail about Reploid anatomy, let me explain about Nodes. A reploid is born naked, without armor, in bare syntetic skin like a manufactured 14-40 year old human. But, located throughout the reploids naked body are 11 Utility Nodes not much larger than the size of a nickle, these are access points for maintainance, but are primarily used as grafting points for the reploids armor. The armor is attached to the reploid via these Nodes, and the armor becomes an extension of the Reploids internal skeleton. The Melee Unit are reploids specially trained for hand-to-hand combat, often used in situations when using convetional weapons is out of the question. The Melee Unit makes up for the lack of weapons by using pressure points to disable the enemy's armor, and by extension, the enemy itself. The primary pressure points in a reploid's body are usually the 11 Nodes. The Nodes are usually located on both the reploid's shoulders, his fore arms, his outer thighs, his shins, the center of his chest, lower back, and the top of a reploid's forehead, usually hidden in his hair. Where the nodes are sometimes varies depending on reploid design. There are 4 Types of Node attacks that the Melee Unit uses: Fake, Weak, Stong, and Fierce. Fake: A Fake attack is a simple, jarring attack on a pressure point, usually only amounts to slow an enemy down. However, multiple, quick Fake Attacks may cause considerable damage. Weak: The Weak attack manages to knock the enemy's armor slightly loose, making it less responsive. Stong: The Stong attack breaks the armor's attachment to the Node, rendering it completely unresponsive and useless, making it dead weight to the enemy. Fierce: The Fierce attack is nearly the same as a Strong Attack, but it is executed so precisely, that the force attacking the Node travels down into the enemy's body, breaking the Nodes connection to the Reploids bones. Shards of the enemy's skeleton are dispursed inside his body, tearing cyber muscle, sometimes disabling entire body parts. With this small arsenal of Attacks, as well as a mastery of Matial Arts, the Melee Unit can be as formidable an oponent as the 17th Unit. EDIT: With my fic currently ongoing, I figure now is a good time to finally describe my interpretation of Zero and X. So here are their Bios for how they appear in MMX: The Untold History Name: Zero Race: Android, Light Class Age: 10 years Height: slightly above Average Weight: Average I'll skip the other stuff, and instead, describe my version of Zero in better detail. My approach to Zero is to simply think of him as the ideal robot avatar for Dr. Wily, he's sort of WIly's Mary Sue, assuming that Dr. WIly had designed Zero to one day transfer his own brain into. And so, with that in mind, I envisioned that WIly would have made Zero dashingly handsome, and very much inline with the Nazi ideal (anyone else assume that Wily is German, or is it just me?). So, Zero is tall, 6' tall exactly. And handsome, with shinny gold hair and bright blue eyes. And, if WIly had control over Zero's personality, he made him hedonistic, he enjoys the pleasures and finer things in life. HE drinks wine, fine food and expensive clothes. However, he's also a warrior, a fighting machine, unlike X who was designed to choose his own destiny, Zero is naturally inclined to fight, and so his systems are desinged for it. Yes, he likes to eat fancy food, but he doesn't need to eat. His systems only need water, it was a trait that WIly added to deter any enemies who may try to outlast Zero's wrath by weakening him. Zero has strange eating habits, yes he likes fancy food, but on missions, he'll eat whatever is avaiable: fast food burgers, stale bread, raw rotten meat, and suffer no effect since he's unpoisonable, and doesn't gain any weight. He can, however, become drunk, inebriated, most likely because Wily would like to be able to drink to get drunk. But, Zero's capacity for consuming alcohol is closer to someone twice his size. Zero in relationship to others. Let me hit this subject first. My interpretation of Zero is full-on Hetero, not gay, not bi, completely staight. WIly was strait (as far as we know), so is Zero. Zero has a lot of Wily's mindset, in my version, Zero is sexist, condecending to women, doesn't think highly of them. Iris was an exception, he learned to like her, and that's what made her special. Now, I made it a policy to not have Zero dwelling on Iris (or Ciel), not because he's over her, but on the contrary, he's so completely consumed by guilt that he's pushing all his feelings away, and burying himself in his work. But it's when there's moments of peace that he gets really restless, so he starts sleeping around. Zero is never short on admirers, and since he doesn't respect them, they leave in a week. Zero spends most of his vacations partying, drinking and bedding loose women. Zero is also a bit of a racist, not about the color of a reploid's skin, but the robot's appearance. He's naturally suspect of all Animaloids, mainly because of all the Mavericks he's faced, but also because in his mindset, he's envisions himself as an Adonis, the pinicle of the human body, any other shape is almost intolerable. In X, Zero has grown to look at him as more than just a fellow soldier, he sees a brother. They are alike in a few ways, they both fight the never ending battle against the Mavericks X for peace, and Zero for order. When Zero dies, it's always X who's looking for him, and Zero usually dies to protect X. Finally, in my interpretation, Zero is the more emotional of the two. Allow me to clarify. Yes, X is sensative, but Zero's emotions are much larger, his highs are much higher, and lows much lower, than X's that only go up and down a bit in either direction. I'll add X's tomorrow. Okay, one last thing about Zero, and that is that he's unaware of his prejudices. They're part of his subconscious that Wily designed, and, unfortunately, as much a part of his character as his love of fighting. He justifies his suspicions because of all the maverick animaloids he's fought. His take on women is complicated. He doesn't respect the ones that sleep with him, because he thinks they just want sex. The women that don't want to sleep with him, he think are frigid. When it comes to the average girl, if she act like she needs his help, he'll be naturally helpful. The women that don't need help, he feels threatened by, so he's naturally more judgemental. Thankfully, Zero is professional enough to not let his biases get in the way of important missions. He can tolerate Females and Animaloids, and even get pasts his own perceptions in time, but when the best man for the job is a woman or Zero, he'll pick himself. And now for X Name: X Race: Android, Light Class Age: 1o years Height: Average Weight: Average The main characteristic in my interpretation of X is that he's getting old, too old to be a Maverick Hunter. Unlike Zero, X wasn't designed to be a fighter, and after a decade fighting the never ending battle, he's becoming tired. Back in 20XX, Rock had the luxury of things being very black/white, for X things have been turning gray for much too long. The average human would have given himself an ulcer from all the stress X has endured. In addition to that, the world is changing and the blue bomber finds that he's not needed that much anymore. The battles are no longer about strong individuals, but rather large armies. The backstory is that Zero died, and X did carry the Z-Sabre at the 3 year mark, only to quit some months after. Zero resurface, again mysteriously revived, during the Lightning War, and that prompted X to return to the Hunters. In Zero, X sees a better version of himself. He thinks that Zero's world is very black and white, and wishes he had the kind of resolve to act like Zero instead of being racked with self-doubt. Unlike Zero, X does need to drink, eat and sleep. He needs to eat only once a day, and sleep for 4 hours (Zero needs only 2). And even though he doesn't gain weight either, X is a healthy eater because he likes the taste of healthier foods. He's not a vegetarian, but he does eat mainly fruits and vegetables, because he doesn't like to cook. X seldom drinks alcohol, which is why he and Zero don't hang out very often when they're off duty. X's isn't astonishingly good looking, he doesn't turn heads like Zero does. But he is averagely handsome. His eyes are green, and his hair is a dull black, and a tad frizzy. We are as Zero looks like the girls in the herbal ecstacy commercials. In relation to others, X is very open minded. He doesn't judge people before he gets to know them. He's is polite, and a people person. In the case of women, X has a policy to avoid getting involved with the people he works with, although he as broken that rule a few times. X does have some admirers for two reasons, that he's famous for killing Sigma, and that he's the first reploid. The bad part is, the perception the women have about him are usually broken when they realize all the doubts he has. They expect a black-haired version of Zero, which he's not. enough for now. I'll expand on it later. -------------------- |
