Anyone else not satisfied with the range of Wing Clip? I find it difficult to get off in PVP even when I'm right behind someone. Rogues and Warriors can get off their abilities like that much easier it seems......
I have to be right next to the person, facing them, and even then it doesn't always go off! Comments? -------------------- Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!

I generally dont have a problem. What your describing might be lag. Also, wing clip can be dodged, parried, and can miss. (not sure about block)

Does anyone have all 3 of their new abilities from AQ20? I have Multishot and AoTH, and I seem to hit really hard with that new rank of multishot. Do you (who have the new serpent sting) notice a difference? My multishots crit for 900-1500 regularly.
Also, Yellow, you need to get your quest done for your bow. I helped Sonrisa do hers, do you need help to do yours? It would be cool if all of the "regular" hunters had their epic quest bow and quiver. -------------------- Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!

WoW Hunter Forums math breakdown
That's the math behind all of it..... that guy must have a lot of time to figure all of that junk out. Essentially it shows that 5/31/15 (I think that's the ideal spec, may be wrong about those numbers) will outdps my spec (0/20/31) as far as ranged attacks are concerned. Real question is wether or not I want to lose survivability, cool meele abilities and nice melee DPS boost for a little boost in ranged DPS by gaining TSA... interesting question! What do you guys think? I like to PvP and have considered grinding to commander for the sexy mounts... but I dunno if I need to keep survivability at the loss of DPS. TSA would benefit the raid more (along with increased ranged DPS). Give me feedback! -------------------- Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!

From a non-hunter...pure raid point of view, Marks is better because you'll never be doing melee DPS (correct me if I'm wrong). Plus there's the benefits of TSA. But as with a lot of raid-optimal specs, that comes at a cost to your own soloing/PvP ability.
Go with whatcha think is more fun. |

Hmm. Warlocks have a simlair choice. Specifically with our curses, do we put up the one that boots ourselves or the raid, or adds dps to oursevles? Well, I don't think you can beat TSA for raiding since that bonus attack power goes to the whople group (so that's what? +500 attack power for a group.. or 35.something dps), but if you pvp, then you'll want to stick with survival.
Of coruse +3% to hit from sure footed, 15% agi bonus form lighting reflexes, 3% to crit from having 30 in survival is nice. No idea about wyvern sting (When I pvped with Taghamn he was soemthign liek 0/21/30.. I don't remember exactly, but it was marks/survival without wyvern sitng.) 5/31/15 would get you TSA, 5% ranged damage increase, and a 5% chance on hit to get a 30% boost ot shootign speed. Personally, I prefer scattershot to wyvern sting (I don't know why people bitch about deathcoil.. this is the same thing without the +healing on a 30 second cooldown). I think the DPS woudl work out about even for yourself between 5/30/15 and 0/20/30, the question woudl be how to place the palst point. Do you want to buff a raid, or be able to solo better in pvp? Well.. I have to run.. before I can check and seee if I just made myself look like a fucking moron. ^ ^ |

OK, next random question is about hunters and melee weapons.
Is raptor strike normalized? Or is it still an advantage to have a slow weapon? Am I going to hit harder dual weilding than with my epic staff/Zin'Rokh? What do you other hunters use in melee combat, and how do you find it works? ((For those of you who would respond "Hunter's don't melee, hunters are ranged!", you can pre-emptively suck it. I have to melee so much in PvP it's rediculous. A rogue with crippling poison, a shaman with frost shock/earthbind totem or a warrior with hamstring can keep you close very effectively.)) -------------------- Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!

Why on earth would you melee? Your supposed to be a free HK! And yes, all attacks are supposed to be normalised, ranged and melee. You will however, benefit form a slow weapon on alll instant attacks, as they then to have higher damage (it's really the end damage, not the speed that you should look at). And for my ranom question, can you teach me to ride a kity? Ish refused to help. GRRRR... Fluffles isn't jsut for taking a spot in my bank! Anyways, I've spent so much time on defense with hunters in WSG, I can say you suck if your not flaring. =P In groups, you shouldn't have too much issues keeping range, but for 1v1, not much you can do. But... sounds like you need more casters to distract the warriors. >.> Also, if your magical like Taghman, you can always be and as and scatter shot people in to ice traps... or my favorite, put them on people who are seduced. |

I have had discussions/arguments with Matron, Vanora and Yellowtail about hunter melee weapons so I decided to do the math as far as ranged DPS goes.
(This list assumes you'd enchant these weapons with 15 Agi for 1H and 25 Agi for 2H. I calculated it with 53 agi = 1%crit) Lok'Delar *Agi=25 *Crit=2% RAP=50 Crit=2.47 Zin'Rokh *Agi=25 *AP=72 RAP=122 Crit=0.47 Bone Slicing Hatchet x2 *Agi=(13+15)x2 RAP=112 Crit=1.05 Dawn's Edge x2 (Assasination Blades x2 is identical for ranged) *Agi=(15)x2 *Crit=2% RAP=60 Crit=3.13 Huntsman's Harpoon *Agi=35+25 RAP=120 Crit=1.13 Fang of The Faceless + Mainhand Hakkari Warblade *AP=(28)x2 *Agi=(15)x2 *Crit=2% RAP=116 Crit=2.56 One Handers Doom's Edge *Agi=16+15 RAP=62 Crit=1.16 Scythe of The Unseen Path (Cenarion Exalted Hunter axe-thing) *Agi=16+15 RAP=62 Crit=1.16 Brutality Blade *Agi=9+15 *Crit=1% RAP=48 Crit=1.9 So, as you can see, the Hunter Epic staff is a very viable weapon for ranged combat. You lose 62 Ranged AP but gain 1.42 Crit vs. Dual BSH. However, it is also apparent that dual Dawn's Edge/Assassination Blades gives you even more crit than the Lok'Delar. Looks like I'm going to be pulling out the Assassination blades from my bank! NOTE: This does not in any way take into account the other stats on some of these weapons. If you look at +Stamina, +Intellect and DPS, the Lok'Delar wins in my book as best all around weapon. It hits hard, gives you more mana and life, and good stats for ranged DPS. As far as best for PvP/short PvE fights, The Mainhand Hakkari Warblade or Fang of The Faceless paired with a Brutality Blade wins. 106 RAP and 3.18 Crit FTW. -------------------- Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!

Until the loot gods favor me with something better, I'm sticking with either the Lok or the Dal Rend set for pvp these days, primarily because of the stats/ap/crit balance they offer.
Dal Rend Main Hand +4 str 1% crit DR Off Hand +7 defense 100 armor set bonus 50 AP Weapon choice should also be dictated by playing style. I personally know that I am a very aggressive hunter, so that style benefits from added armor and defense. A more cautious hunter who's likely to stay ranged the majority of the time would probably be better off with raw ap, crit, and int, rather than any of the other frills. |

Epic staff = 50 RAP, 2.47 crit, 26 Stam, 15 Int, 10 NR
Dal'Rends = 110 RAP, 2.13 crit, +7 Def, 100 Armor I guess it's up to you, wether you want 260 life or 100 armor and 7 defense. I also don't know wether you'd do more dmg with the 60 AP or the 0.34 crit. And I really don't know about the effectivness of 100 armor and 7 defense for us hunters.... -------------------- Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!

My math was wrong in that original reply to Sonrisa's post, so I redid it and found a different conclusion.
I think I'm going to pull out my dual Assassination Blades (Both have 15 agi on em) for that sexy 60 RAP and 3.13 crit. -------------------- Black Knight: Right, I'll do you for that!

Ive had the dual Dawns Edges with +15 agi each on them for quite a while and Ive been impressed. What I don't like though is the Ancient Bone Bow. Id love to trade it in for something from ZG or MC but I simply never have the right timing to run those places, oh well. Thus is life.
