Title: Authenticator is Back in Stock!

tinwhisker - September 18, 2008 01:37 PM (GMT)
For those of you that haven't heard yet, the Blizzard Authenticator is back in stock. I highly recommend getting one as protecting your account(s) is easy to do at a very low cost.

And as an extra bonus, they are now available for those of you in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America. :D

Well, it is free shipping in the US.

I wouldn't advocate smuggling encryption devices over the border because you could end up in Federal "poundyouintheass" Prison but... :P

Only $58?

It's $77 to ship to Australia. :emo:

But that's OK. I have someone sending me one at a much cheaper cost. :P

I do like the fact that these can be used on multiple accounts too... so I just need the one to do the whole household.

I ordered mine on the evening of Thursday, Sep 18 and it shipped on Thursday, Sep 25. I'm betting they got swamped with orders when they came back in stock. :(

Hoping to have it in my grubby little hands by this next Monday. :D

It was on my desk when I got to work today (got in late because of a dentist appointment). :D

It's black plastic and has a bit more 'heft' than I thought it would although it's not what could be called heavy or dense.

The display shows six digits although there is room on the LCD and window for eight. The authenticators are made by a company called Vasco who has quite a line of products.

I've already attached it to my account and logged in to both account management and WoW. The login process is smooth and easy to do.

I would prefer that the screen on the authenticator was a big bigger but that's a very minor quibble.

I found out one of my former guildmates was hacked last week. The authenticator has been nothing but good for me and is certainly more effective than my last solution.
