Does anyone know if the trail that goes from E108 at Arden through Hungry Lake and up to Gull Lake is open? Is there a trail # or anywhere I can get info on this trail.

Thanks

Hi Mark,

The E108 is actually in District 2 and i'm not sure if it's open or not. I've never been on that trail personally so im not actually sure what the status is.

You may be able to find more information on the Mazinaw Power Lines website. It doesnt actually list E108 on the link below but if you look at their map, it seems like the 1010 and 1021 trails would go pretty close to Hungary lake. both of these are listed as closed on their website tho. The ice storm in late december really took a toll on the mazinaw club trails.

I was up in bancroft yesterday and the trails were good but as we went further south, the conditions were getting a worse.

Thanks Sully, The trail is shown on the OFSC map going right through Hungry Lake but I have no idea which club maintains it.

Oh well, if we ever get any more snow I'll check it out.

thanks

no problem Mark. the trail is actually very close to our district so you weren't far off.

from what i have heard, the ice storm hit that area really hard and the Mazinaw club had a really hard time cleaning it up (i heard some parts weren't done yet). That's not a knock on the club, it just sucks for everyone. its tough on the clubs when damage like that occurs.

i was out in the area near there just after the ice storm and it seemed like every tree in the forest was bent in half. i know it took our club alot of work to clean up. i was super thankful to all our volunteers and groomers.

let's just hope we see a few more big storms in the next few weeks. the trails still have a base on them so with 1 big dump, we could all be enjoying a great year on the trails again.

That trail used to be maintained by the Mountaingrove club and I don,t think they are operating anymore.
The K&P had thought about taking that trail over but would take too much money and work to make it wide enough for our groomers.
