The Shipping Thread

Which ships (relationships) do you support? Why? Which ones can you just not see the reasoning behind? Are there any that completely squick you? Talk about any aspect of shipping here.

No fighting please! ;)

I support the first three. (Artemis/Holly, Artemis/Juliet & Trouble/Holly) I think I've supported them since I started reading the series, though that was a while ago, so....

I like them because There would be tension in Holly/Artemis and, Artemis/Juliet and Holly/Trouble just seem cute!

Really, you've supported Holly/Trouble since the beginning? I must admit I've always been a bit confused by this ship... Especially considering in the first two books they don't even meet. I can see why from TEC, TOD and TAFF that people support the ship now, but years ago I was always like "where did people get this ship from?"

What weirds me out is that after the first book, the main ships in this fandom were H/A and A/J... now they seem to be H/A and H/T. Where did all the A/J shippers disappear to?

When I read the series, I read the first three in one go, so I really formulated from there.

Ohhh, I see... Having read the first book shortly after it came out, I kind of presume that everyone else at least had a few days in between reading each one while they got the next one. ^^;

I think the fact that I joined the fandom after the first book had a major impact on which ships I support. (Not because I was influenced by fandom, but because my ships were based on the first book alone. I still support the same ones...) I suspect that's true of most people actually.

You have all the weird ships very very VERY few people support let alone write like Opal/Holly, Root/Foaly and no Root/Vinyaya?
But anyways, I support Root/Vinyaya and Trouble/Holly.
I started reading them when they first came out, but I was only 10 and didn't even know what fanfiction meant then, I read AI and EC and became pretty obcessed then I read OD and launched into fanfiction immediatly after but of course by then I'd read the Artemis Fowl Files which informs us that Trouble and Holly are best friends. =)

Also it's proved in AI that he does know her, or has at leats met her because he says something to her after she takes down those two goblins and gets trapped in the chute. And I'd always imagined him saying what he did in a sort of playful, teasing way.
But anyways, I just think those couples are cute^^ Have been meaning to do a Root/Vinyaya oneshot for a while now...

You have to remember that my views on what are "popular" ships are influenced by the fact that most of the AF people I know are Crimmers and not FF.netters...

I think most of the LEP, especially those of about the same age, have probably met each other at some point - so I don't consider that alone to be a real reason for shipping two characters. It wasn't really until TEC and TAFF that I began to see any reason why people might ship it at all. XD;;

Ah. Ships. No Artemis/Opal? I read that once. Lovely fic, and actually made sense. I don't know, I just quite like the two most maniacal characters together, I suppose. xD

But I love Artemis/Holly, too. It's the most blatantly obvious and the most fun. ^^

Artemis/Juliet is not for me. >.> I simply don't like it.

Foaly/Artemis actually peaked my interest on that poll. I was like...cute. x3

Sorry, no Artemis/Opal - you only get a certain number of options for a poll so I couldn't put down everything! But I have read an Artemis/Opal fic and I liked it, and I even had an idea for A/O fic once... Truth be told I can be convinced of almost any ship! XD;

I can't remember whether I've actually seen an Artemis/Foaly fic... But it's something I've had a vague interest in seeing since the first book! I think you could do a lot of interesting stuff with it. :3 But it doesn't seem that popular.

(Psst, has anyone here read The Lost Colony yet? What do you think of the new shipping possibilities in that?)

Holly & Trouble. Especially after reading the AF Files and the 1st mini-book.

Actually I could go into a big long ramble about what exactly a "species" is and how they might not belong to different ones after all... but I won't, because that would scare you all. XD;

That said, even though I like Holly/Foaly, I really really don't want to think what their love life would be like. *brain explodes*
