Stellar foursome

Kaka, Cristiano, Benzema and Garay: "We hope to star in the Champions League final"
Laura Navas / Translation by Michael J. O'Donnell

Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Ezequiel Garay got together to comment on what will be their first Champions League experience at the Bernabeu as Real Madrid players.

Kaká
"I am proud to be part of this team. We want to win and make Real Madrid history, but we must take things slowly and calmly. It isn't easy to win the Champions League. People are talking about it as if we had already won it; the team stll has to grow and improve on many things. We dream about playing the final at our stadium."

Cristiano Ronaldo
"The fans' euphoria concerning the new project is normal, but just as Kaka has said, we have to take things slowly and focus on each match at a time. We want to win, but success doesn't come from one day to the next. We have to remain calm and build a proper team. I think we have chances to win, but we must take things slowly and work hard. That's what's most important."

Benzemá
"I know we can win. Football is full of surprises, but we want this title. The trophy means a lot to us. It will be tough, but we have a great team. We have everything a team needs to win the title. We will do our best to win because this is a very prestigious and important title for this great club."

Garay
"It is a great challenge for me to play in this competition with Real Madrid. It is an incentive for me to play for a team with such prestige in Europe. I think we are all motivated because the final will be held at this stadium. We hope to star in the final."

---------------------

I hope win it, too. :hyper: It's been a while and we have done so badly in the CL in recent years, being embarrassed by every top team. The final is in Madrid, it would be great if we managed to win it at our own stadium. But it's going to be very difficult and we're not playing particulary well.

Look at our results in the CL in the past few years. We were so "successful" that we ended up getting in the 2nd pot this year. :( That's why I said we've become a joke.

Obvious reasons :scratchchin: ...Florentino's transfer policy in general??? :scratchchin: That's okay, I'm not a fan either. I'm asking because there were so many lies spread about us (how we're the team of the Government, favoured by the refs, etc. ALL LIES) that I'd like to clarify. I hope those lies are not one of the reasons.

Oh, good! We have been a mess for a while now (let's see what happens this season), but in the end it all comes down to whether you adapt or not. Look at Ruud, for example. He came as a star, he adapted and he didn't have any problems. And Kaká is looking good so far! :beers: On the other hand you have players like Becks who never adapted. That said, Becks was not played in his natural position. And there were others like Owen who wasn't given enough minutes even though he deserved them. I didn't like that about Florentino's policy, he left us in a good position econimically, but the team was a mess and our image suffered.
