Yeah, like BioWare has the capabilities of good writing these days.

I'm usually in favour of people doing whatever the fuck they want, but if I ever become Supreme Overlord of Everything Ever, it's on the agenda to make providing a written transcript of videos for people who don't want to have to suffer through some shitty narrator's shittiness a legal requirement of linking to YouTube videos.

Failure to do so will be punishable by death.

I was going to make some comment about how everyone should shut up about it because it's just a video game and it's a Bioware one at that, but I can't be sure that it's a relevant observation because I got about 5 seconds into the video and decided my time was better spent watching Conan the Barbarian (the 1981 version but I hear the reboot is cool too).

Ah yes, the "it's just a video game" argument. How lazy.

Yeah, it was certainly a "cool movie".

I can't see how people are so fucking in love with this stupid fucking videogames trilogy, is all. How does this debacle even exist? How do people form these attachments to discs?

The ending sucked ass and Renegade somehow managed to get even more nerfed into the "outright painful to play" zone. Get over it and go play something else.

If BioWare intended to do indoctrination theory all along, then I'd find it really retarded that we were sold an incomplete game out the door that was literally missing half its ending and we'd have to wait several months to actually see the complete ending. If however BioWare decided to go with indoctrination theory after they realized that the current ending they have is complete garbage, then that is the only way I could probably accept the upcoming Director's Cut DLC, because the actual concept behind such an ending is pretty cool and fitting to Mass Effect's universe. Either way though given BioWare's statements during the announcement of the DLC it doesn't sound like that is going to happen. BioWare stated that they don't plan on changing the ending, merely expanding upon it to clarify things a bit more and give more closure. Unfortunately what they don't get is that fans didn't hate the ending just because it lacked closure; more importantly it was incredibly stupid and broke the story in 1800 different ways. They made the reapers completely lose their despairing and menacing presence by turning them into a little ghost child's bitch all the while forcing Shepard into making a contrived decision that he/she would never realistically make and betrays all of his/her work up until that point. It needs nothing short of a full-blown retcon or a huge fucking loophole to exploit like indoctrination theory to fix it.

Still haven't played ME3. Clearly the whole game is spoiled for me now and therefore I will never play it.

Nah, I was never going to play it anyway. I haven't played a game in like... Months.

I don't even know why.

Never played any of the series, though from what I'm told, a play through is worth it.

Yes, very much. Even despite as much as you'll want to smash your keyboard against your face until there's no keys left attached with ME3's ending, the rest of the game was good, but Mass Effect 2 especially was one of the greatest games I've ever played.

You know as I was writing that sentence I knew I wanted to insert a pre-emptive "Yes I don't care what you think, fuck you Confederacy" in parentheses because I knew you would bitch about it. Don't give a fuck. The game was great and you can go cry in a corner about it.

Haha, I'm glad you thought of me when you were typing that. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Well, I just so happen to be in a corner, so I think I'll go ahead and start crying. I hope no one near me notices... ohgod.gif

I havent played mass effect 1, but 2 definitely better than 3. 3 had some awesome moments, but 2's writing was more solid. 3 only beats it in the shooting, if 2 had 3's shooting it would rank higher in my favorite games.

Not really, it just wasn't as derpy as ME3's was. Which, really isn't saying much for ME2. But hey, it didn't get as bad as Dragon Age 2's writing.
