Being a 40k fan I've been looking forward to this game for a long time now. It looks impressive and multiplayer seems to great. Curious about your thoughts.

As much as I love Warhammer, I have zero interest in this game and I'm kind of getting tired of Relic also starring the Space Marines as the main protagonists. Either give me something similar to Fire Warrior or just add the Tau into Dawn of War II for fucks sake.

Confed, just thought I may as well add that not liking Space Marines, is a blatant sign of homosexuality. Just putting that out there.

As for the game, looks great and I'm surprised that THQ didn't venture out into these hack and slash games before. Or even just any genre other then a FPS, but after Fire Warrior's dismal and well-deserved failure I can't say that I blame them.

I play orks so i am interest to see how the orks are done in the game.

I agree that someone other than Humanity needs to be the focus of a game like this, But done better than fire warrior. Space marines are cool but no where near the best, at least not the ultramarines.

But from a marketing stand point its a AAA title so of course they were going to be Human super soilder, for masses of fags who probably will call this a Gears of war rip off.

A Fire Warrior 2 would be great :/

The problem is that from a gameplay perspective, Space Marines are the logical choice.

The thing about Firewarrior is that it sucked on many, many different levels. Honestly, reading through the plot, the Tau wouldn't have been fighting in a situation like that to begin with.

Not to mention that a Firewarrior is a terrible choice for a protagonist, unless you're fond of another cover-based shooter; it's really all they do.

Looking into the other races, there are barely any real acceptable units for play; you'd basically either be playing as one of the heroes for the entire game (which is viable, I suppose) or you'd be playing at a rate which most people would find boring.

The Space Marines are convenient in that they present a very "playable" race. They're aggressive, and they get involved in fights personally, and above all they don't die nearly as much as say, an Eldar, Tau, Imperial Guard, or some such unit in the same position.

It's very much the logical, and easy choice, so it's logical for THQ to choose to revolve around them, besides the obvious flagship value.



A Firewarrior 2 is a horrible idea. They gave you a fucking melee weapon. MELEE TAU GO

I don't really care if it was horrible, I still played through Firewarrior.

But yeah, I think Warhammer can't fit in with other types of genres, it's really just a strategy game.

Warhammer came before Starcraft.

Anyway, game looks good. I love how overboard it went with the gore. Warhammer orcs still look like the most badass orcs around. For some reason I never really played the Warhammer games aside from Warhammer Online very briefly. I think the lack of an included editor is what made me not hold enough of an interest to pick up the Dawn of War games.

Except that Starcraft: Ghost was a stealth game and this isn't. But thanks for continuing to be a complete dumbass, it makes me miss insulting someone sometimes. Oh wait, what's this?

There's more! If I wasn't happy already. And you're right, THQ is going to cancel a game that is set to come out in wait for it... three weeks! Forget the fact that the game is near completion and close to entering store shelves, they should just cancel the game! In fact, they should just terminate their entire Warhammer 40,000 license because THQ is a company that cancels everything. Wait, no you're probably thinking of Capcom. Either way, you're still an idiot.

I like the Space Marines as much as the next guy. What I don't like is that they're the protagonists all the time.
