Yeah thets definitely a job for next week. Kinda almost dont want to though you know? A bit scared of having my hopes dashed. Gonna get quotes for:
JDM DC2 around £5.5k Ek9 around £6k EK4 SiR around 4.5k UK EP3 around 6-7k (Although I'm not that into them I'd be interested to find out what a uk car comes in at...) I know what youre thinking... no chance! -------------------- |

Don't forget the DC5 mate, you can get examples from as low as 8k now. Also, for JDM vehicle insurance try Sky. Try looking on itr-dc5.co.uk's insurance section as there are a couple of other highly recommended companies for imports, who's names both escape me now.
EDIT: I'm a B. -------------------- |

Thats bonkers! The place I used to live where my neighbour got car jacked parked outside her own house is classed as the same as where I live now and it ain't a jacking neighbourhood

Yeah I know...its sometimes funny that way. I've been a victim of car crime three times in my life: Once predictably in Manchester (F*) but then once in Stafford ( B ) and once in Shrewsbury ( also B )! I was only in bloody Shrewsbury for one night, whereas I've lived in the North West for 11 years! It does suck that because of some of my local undesirables' underdeveloped sense of 'mine' and 'yours' I may not be able to own my dream car though.
Yeah I thought of them but 8k would be out of the question. Plus, I'm not too keen on them to look at I'm afraid (sorry Kimi! -------------------- |

Im sure you'll get a decent quote on a few if not all of those Hondas mentioned above.
If stuck, try A-Plan - they sorted me and Jamie T out with nice deals on our motors --------------------

Got a quote this afternoon for a bone-stock UK DC2 from Adrian Flux: £1100. Thats with 8 years NCB on a 30 year old driver with a Thacham Cat 1 approved fitted alarm and the promise that it will be parked in a locked car port between certain hours. Buggerations. Don't even want to imagine a modded JDM teg, although I'll ring around when I have more time.
Wondering whether I'd rather have a JDM ek4 or even UK VT with a couple of mods dependant on their insurance cost? Not quite as VTEC y0! extreme but you know... might possibly give me a bit more room for creativity? This stock SiR is giving me sexy looks... http://www.s-and-g.com/car_details.php?id=54 -------------------- |

Thing is though I'm paying over £700 (best quote at the time) on the bloody taxi. That gets beaten off the lights by diesel repmobiles.
I dunno... uk-nosed tegs can look good too: http://www.hondamarketplace.com/showthread.php?t=2350401 (Yes I know this particular one is US) -------------------- |

Missed this. Thanks for the heads up man. Also worth considering: Have read on a couple of these smaller companies' policies that they refuse to insure at all in 'M' and 'L' postcodes. Welcome to the car crime capitals of the UK. -------------------- |

chris knott are a broker, so they go searching for there best. but they specialize in car clubs. if your in a club that they have on thier list e.g. preludeUK you get an extra 10or15% discount
i think i'm actually insured by highway insurance on the certificate they were known to be in competion with sky on a few forums so if you ring up for a quote and they ask you whats your best quote, if skys your best so far tell them its from sky and they will definatly try n beat it -------------------- |
