Some may know, others may not care, either way, meh. last night i picked up jedi's gti, it was too much of a bargain to miss. Si is being stripped (seperate thread when im ready so dont spam here thankyouplease biggrin.gif) so its time to get some drive time in! for those that dont know ill put up a little 'look at me' thread, and keep it updated with the little changes i make to add my own touch. it was obviously a bargain, but came with a few niggles, only to be expected for a 9 year old car with 113.000 miles on it. desperately needs brakes, little rust spots appearing on the rear arches, maybe tires, has a few little fluid leaks, slight exhaust leak and just generally a little tidying here and there needed. id like to cover the parcel shelf to hide the speakers, i want some headrest covers to hide the screens and im gonna ditch the neons asap. spec list as it is now with my little changes on...

Interior & ICE:
Colour Coded Steering Wheel
Colour Coded Door Cards
Stealth Airmetal Pedals
Momo Gearknob
Momo Leather Shifter Surround
2 - Infinity 6x9's
Sony Explode Sub
JBL Amp

Exterior:
GTi wheels in black
Avon ZV5 front and BF Goodrich rear tires
Almera GTI Bodykit
25% medium tint allround
JDM Gti Grille
Heko Wind Deflectors
Punto Rear wiper mod
Clear Side Repeaters
Colour Coded Rear Lights
Colour Coded Numberplate Surround
Sharkfin Aerial
De-Badged Front and Rear
custom GTI Graphics
P1 shiteki vent
Nismo R33 GTR bonnet lip

Engine/chassis:
SR20de (182bhp 2 seperate Rolling Road prints to prove)
Powertech Induction Kit (with Heatshield and 3 cold air feeds)
JWT S3R cams
Hotshot Header
Janspeed s/steel catback system
Exedy Fast Road Clutch
Fidanza Flywheel
Unorthodox Pullies
Fidanza Short Shifter
Dastek Uni Chip
APEX Energy Suspension
Front & Rear Strut Braces as standard
Few Samco hoses
Red Dot front discs/oem pads

Now a couple of pics as jedi had it, ill put a couple of pics up soon now it has my old grill and suteki on... and despite popular belief, the car as a whole looks 100 times better in the flesh. enjoy.....

Its not the car you've got, its what you've done to it.

Just look at Tommo's Micra and Almera, equally as bonkers comparitively to Jamie P's wagons IMO!!!

I like it!!
Sounds like you got a good deal you may be able to extract a few more BHP or torque having the map tweaked which is pretty cheap. 182BHP though on CAMs is a very good result and i can imagine drives pretty wild.

Only thing i'd do is take off the black strip along the lower doors as it spoils the lines of the car and BMW fin unless it actually is the aerial.

I like it too, but i agree about the stripe, it doesn't quite look right.

The bonnet vent isn't my thing either but then i'm a bit of an OEM geek. With so much red as there is, i'd also do the door handles.

It must go fairly well. smile.gif

Saw this in person at the meet today and I think it's great smile.gif

Yes it does need a slight dechavving in places, but thats nothing a dremel cant sort out laugh.gif

180ish bhp must be fun and its certainly got all the mods you've wanted Tommo.

The bonnet vent is actually functional as well, which is quite a shock!!!

thankyou all very much, bonnet is on the 'to do' list but the 1.4 bonnet is pretty crap to be honest, stonechips, dents, whatnot so wont be using it...

right i added a pic of the front end originally to the first post, and now some new ones. just to point out, today i changed the brakes to the red dots i brought off of stufagti a while ago, just to get me out the shit, there still shit but they work, think they need bleeding and brand new discs/pads. one of the pad carrier bolts was seized, snapped the head off, the other was the wrong thread on the bolt so raided the parts bin (Si) to get me back on the road... removed the neons, pissed about with the stereo (front speakers not working) washed it and took it out to its first meet. HUGE thanks to corbs and my neighbour mark for the help and support smile.gif

cheers to hadyn and corbs for the pics smile.gif

Looks wicked Tommo! Congratulations man! Must still be a bit weird when you first look at it after owning the Si... I mean, we're looking down on Wayne's basement. Only that's not Wayne's basement!

Oh... and don't chuck any bits that will fit the P11 when you're a-tinkering! wink.gif

Actually looking at that pic, the bonnet vent is starting to grow on me smile.gif

It must be the Tommocore indicator vent thats been added or something.

Non functional shark fin aerial has to go along with the black stripe dude smile.gif

Gotta ask wtf is a P1 shiteki vent??!!! ohmy.gif

im afraid the bonnet is going, gonna put the Si one on even though i said i wouldnt, starting to get used to it now and get an idea of what i want from it and the bonnet is too much for me, yeah its functional but i might go for a subtle lift on the back edge of the bonnet...

P1 shiteki is an aoc thing lol the indicator vent was originally made by suteki, i branded mine a shiteki as it was a quality tommo botch, P1 is phase 1. my gti is a phase 2. the P2 got crystal style lights so the vented indicator doesnt quite match up but thats only if anyones being anal about it lol

tracey, thankyou very much smile.gif

Sam, its gonna stay as it is pal, i like the car as a whole to be honest smile.gif

Loads of copper washers on the rear bonnet latches bolts should do the trick for that mate thumbsup.gif
