Pure gold eyes stared out onto the thickly wooded forest of the Genoasia lands, glimmering in the mid-afternoon sun. Her lands, and hers alone. A new pack was dawning in this land, a pack that responded to her as leader. A bit of a smile broke across her wolfish lips, her eyes glinting with a bit of self-glory. Yes, Ciqala Wicasa, Alpha Female of the Genoasia pack. She liked the ring to it. If only her little parents could see her now! Well... she thought, tilting her head upwards to the heavens. Maybe they can...

But there was a downside to her marvelous packlands. It was as dry as a bone come wintertime with prey. Her ears, pricked to catch even the slightest sounds, could hear hardly anything. Sure, the soft to raccous churr of crickets was audible, along with the soft murmering of the wind on the leaves, but the heartbeat and scramble of prey in the undergrowth was gone. Just as that thought passed through her wolfish mind, a scurry was suddenly heard, making her multicoloured head jerk to the side. Golden eyes searched frantically for the source, locating a rabbit, white with its winter coat, hopping daintily through the accumulating snow. A slight smile danced across Ciqala's features yet again. She wouldn't sleep with a knawing hunger again tonight.

She suddenly burst foward from where she had been standing under a massive tree, not caring for any sort of stealth and sneak. The rabbit's head jerked in her direction, black eyes wide and fearful, small nose twitching with horror. It was turning, in slow-motion to the hunting wolf, but it couldn't finish its grasp for freedom and life. Ciqala snapped the small white body up in her jaws, finishing it of quickly with a snap to its spine. The creature struggled, hot crimson blood dripping down the length of it, before it hung limp in her jaws.

Sweet victory! And on top of that she had a little bit of food before the night fell. She wasted no time in dropping to the snowy ground, tearing ravenously into the small freshly-dead creature. It wasn't too long before not much remained of the rabbit besides a pile of disgarded bones and scraps of fur. Ciqala nosed a bit of snow on top of it, the blood still on her snout making red stains in the pure whiteness of the fresh snow. She blinked at it, smiling fiendishly, and got up from her sitting. She turned on a paw and started to walk, tiny flecks of snow falling on her pelt as she walked.

Anyone welcome of course, you don't have to be in the Genoasia pack either! =D Just wanna meet more wulfies.

Guess who you get? :D Hope this post is alright x.x

So this is what it feels like to be in a pack, huh? Dan'I thought, trotting along the packlands, admiring what surrounded him. Indeed, it was a beautiful place, so much better than the lands of the outsiders or, even worse, those infested areas, in which the two-legs tended to live around. He felt himself wondering if he should be doing something of importance but, as the pack was currently small, he doubted it.

He was slowly becoming aware of the slowly building winter weather, his ears suddenly lifting up when he felt the freezing drips of falling snow splatter against his fur. He lifted his head then, squinting his eyes before closing them, and letting the droplets hit his pelt. Snow, the ashes of dying stars. He knew this wouldn't be a good time for anybody, not the pack, nor the outsiders, as food of any kind made itself scarce in those months.

Ah well. It'll be warm again one day. His train of thought was interupted then with the scent of a kill. He flicked an ear again, wondering what was going on, if anything. The smell of blood mixing with flesh that was going to begin its slow progress of rotting hit his nostrils and, out of curiousity, he began to walk off towards the smell. He didn't walk for all that long, soon bounding into a run of his own accord, and, soon, he found the remains of the rabbit. Bones and fur. Just great.

He became vaguely aware of his own building hunger. He made a quick promise to himself - he'd go hunting again later in the day or he'd end up suffering the consequences, again. Did he really want to sit in the night, hungry, half asleep, hoping that for some reason some stupid animal would walk right past? That didn't sound very appealing. He'd have his work cut out for him, though, as the rabbit seemed to be a one off in the forest of the lands.

The wolf turned his attention to the ground then, looking at the stains that were littering the ground. Blood. There was nothing unusual about it, but he decided to keep his mind off hunger by going on a little tailing. He walked along, following the blood trail for a while, until the crimson dried up into fresh white, and he was forced to use his nose again. He sniffed the air, catching the smell of the predator. He was no longer anxious as to finding out what it was. It was defaintly a wolf.

Off he went yet again, running now and, eventually, catching sight of the mixed pelt of the alpha of his pack. He cocked his head, doing a double check. It was defaintly her. He didn't go straight up to her, but he kept a while back. He'd let her decide if she wanted to talk to him and, if she didn't, he'd just keep his distance until he caught sight of food.

Ciqala was deep in thought, her pawsteps one of the least prominant things on her mind. But a thought, nagging at the back of her mind like a persistant insect, made her slowly drift into reality before she realized what the thought was. Someone was shadow-stepping her. Shadow-step was a term that she used when someone else was following or simply walking nearby to where pawsteps almost matched up, giving off a strange sensation of having another stepping right after you do, like your shadow was giving off steps of noise. Ciqala slowed to a stop, pivoting her head around to see who it was.

She wasn't suprised it was Dan'I, the newest and only addition to her pack. She smiled warmly in greeting, bowing her head slightly.
"Hello again, Dan'I. How is life treating you? Do you enjoy the packlands?" she asked, thinking that she might be going a bit overboard with the questions. Oh well, she was curious.

Sex-ee table :D

The shadow pelted wolf looked at Ciqala. Uh, oh, she'd asked him a question. This was not good, the best reason being that Dan'I tended to talk a lot if anybody asked him anything. He gave a small cough for some reason, from the back of this throat, and he looked at her.

"Hullo." The wolf said, simply, nodding his head as he always did when he was acknowledged by somebody. He had his own answer to her question rushing around in his head, among with the riddles and enigmas he could never hope to figure out. He closed his eyes momentarily, sorting himself out. ",Life is good, thank you."

But there was another question, one he hadn't yet thought about. The life within a pack. It was small, so he couldn't really give an honest opinon of what his new life was like. He hadn't seen the other packs yet, either, so he couldn't compare or degrade. There were so many reasons why he would've prefered to stay quiet for the second question, most of them to do with his own view on the world, but he forced out another easy answer.

"The packlands are...interesting enough." He thought he better follow this up with something to show he had some respect for his superior. ",And how are you, Ciqala?"

Ciqala turned around fully, to face the shadowy male. Life was good as it seemed. The lands were peaceful again, at least for the time being, and her pack was beginning to return back to the lands. Or come to them for the first time. The Alpha Female was already thinking of what things she had to do when they got a decent-sized pack under their lands, earning her many well-earned headaches. She waited for the Zeta's next words, nodding at them as they came. "Ah, well, as good as I can be. Do not worry, the lands are much more lively in the warmer months. Winter deadens the beauty of it," she said, smiling.

Yes, she remembered quite well the times of summer and spring when the snow disappeared from the wooded land that was called Genoasia and the flowers and trees started to bud and bloom. It became one of the most vibrantly beautiful lands in all of the area. The prey was much thicker in the warm months too. The Genoasia packlands were as dry as a bone when it came to prey in the wintertime, but there were always lands surrounding them that had a bit of prey left. They didn't have to starve either.

Ciqala wondered how to spark another conversation, but nothing came to her pondering mind. She decided to await for what the other Genoasia member said in response.

Yeah, it sucks when there's only a few people v_v Hey, maybe you could ask a few people from WNL to come here, since it closed and all. Brain dead, sorry.

"Ah." Dan'I said, flattening his ears against his head as a sudden droplet of snow ran inside the thick fur of his ears. His ears flicked then, the feeling uncomfortable. ",I take it that hunting is difficult, too?"

He looked around, seeing the endless opal of the snow. He sighed then. The better thing about not staying in one land was that prey was usually limitless, as you could go anywhere you chose to go. Unfortunately, it wasn't the case right now. To make matters worse, most prey was white, meaning that it'd be even more awkward for him to chase something down.

Yeah, I haven't been to WNL in a while. Might want to advertise on WWS sometime, maybe. =/

A tiny glimmer of entertainment entered the Alpha Female's features as the Elder flicked his ear, annoyed, as large droplets of melting snow dropped onto his head. Her golden-amber eyes flickered up like dancing embers, noting a large tree, bare branches laden with fresh snow, towering over him. She smiled a bit, motioning her head to the side in order to suggest moving out from under the tree. She wasn't totally preoccupied from the dripping tree, she was listening to the Elder's words too. She would always listen to her Elder, for he was her advisor of course.

"Hunting isn't too hard, we don't go hungry or anything. You have a bit of hunger though, when things are a bit scarce, but I've never been foodless for more than a few days," she said reassuringly, wanting the new packmember to feel a bit more secure within the packlands. It was a bit bare in winter, but, as she always reassured herself, it would get immidiately better in the budding spring.
