The Lion's Claw tournament, the first one to be held by Narnia during it's Golden Age, is on the verge of beginning. Numerous invitations have been sent out to leaders near and far, with almost every one of them responding with the promise to join. The four Pevensies are spending every waking moment preparing for their guests. It will be a grand event - especially when four assassins from a dark magic academy join in...

Frighteningly merry music floated around the Great Hall of Cair Paravel as dignitarities from across the realm mixed and mingled. Amidst the cheery guests was a slender woman dressed in forest green, her eyes cold and calculating as they glared back at a particular prince standing before her. Aila's gaze didn't waver as the boy babbled on and on about some great deed or another that he'd done back in his country. Oh, and the sorceress was so enthralled by his little escapades. She continually had to remind herself that zapping him on the spot was forbidden. Draining the remaining spiced cider from her goblet, she handed the golden cup to the silly royal, smiling as sweetly as possible, though the expression didn't meet her eyes. "I would like some more cider," she said none-too-gently, adding as an afterthought, "..please." Maybe it wasn't as ladylike as Madame L'Ombre would have liked, but she was trying..
The young Prince nodded and scurried off like the obedient boy he was to fetch the sorceress another drink. Good. She'd managed to get rid of him without sending him up in flames. ^^ Moving off into the crowd so the boy wouldn't be able to find her again, she searched for any familiar faces, desperate to know when the food was going to be served... Shaking off obsessive princes worked up an appetite. Her attention was soon distracted, though, when the High King stepped onto the dais.
Whilst waiting for everyone to quiet down, Peter looked out into the crowd that had gathered, recognizing but a few guests. And to think he'd be expected to know every one of their names once the games started.. The hall had quieted to a few hushed murmurs, and yet he was still waiting for his siblings to step up onto the dais..
ooc// i miss this rp! please help me bring it back? D: meanwhile i'll wait here wondering why the devil i have a napoleon dynamite icon.. o.O

There's nothing simple when it comes to you and I Always something in this everchanging life Now that time is getting harder to come by The same arguments are always on our mind We've killed this slowly fading light
I hear it from the lost words They say it's time that you lose your crown Find in a day, don't want to be you When the top of the world falls on you

Toril had never been fond of crowded places, but his despise for them was only growing stronger by the second. <<; People were complete idiots, it seemed. All they did was talk and gloat and spill their wine all over themselves from drinking too quickly. Well, perhaps very few did, but Toril only seemed to notice those few, as they stood out questionably in his mind. Ah, well.. At least maybe he'd get his sword on them in the Tournament.. <<; Despite his irritations, he managed to keep on a good face, or as much of a good face you would ever see on the boy, which was a rather irritated stare. Well, he couldn't help but always be slightly miffed-looking.. People were so.. odd. And annoying. It was nothing like the Academy in the least, that was quite obvious. But he supposed it would be a small sacrifice for what they were here for.. Speaking of they, where were 'they'? He hadn't seen any familiar faces in ages. However, he was perfectly content in being alone at the moment-- if you could call being surrounded by idiots alone-- and his venomous thoughts were put to an end as the High King stepped up on the dais. And, thank the heavens, the room was finally falling quiet. >>;
Edmund watched from a corner in the room, blinking at the different faces as they walked past. Well.. this was interesting. He knew no one here. Oo; Not exactly worrisome, but a bit unsettling, to him anyways. Competition was one thing Edmund had a passion for, and he enjoyed having an advantage.. Ah well, fair's fair. He glanced up as the room seemed to somewhat settle-- and ah, it seemed as though it was time to talk. Oh, what joy. Making his way hastily but politely through the crowd, he stepped on to the dais, taking his place by his brother as he gave Peter a quick glance. Well.. there were a lot more people here than he'd expected. xX;

Queen Susan finally managed to squeeze her way out of the crowd and, after quickly restraightening her crown and brushing wrinkles out of her dress, took her place by her brothers. It -was- a bit more crowded than she had first expected, but that meant it was a popular idea, which was a good thing. She'd already introduced herself to many leaders from all over, immediately setting a good word in for Narnia. Smiling and putting on her best Queen-like attitude, she glanced at Peter on her right and Edmund on her left, then asked out of the corner of her mouth, "Where's Lucy?" She hoped the smallest Pevensie hadn't gotten distracted. oo;
A shadowy figure crouched on top of a ledge on a tower, overlooking the entire gathering. A pair of tiger-like claws gripped the edge of the stone ledge, balanced by two human hands inbetween them. Ever so slightly, the figure leaned forward and out of the shadows, revealing a young face human face with narrowed eyes. He sniffed a few times then shook his head roughly, as if ridding himself of a revolting smell. Well, at least he wasn't actually IN the crowd. Heads would probably be flying if he were. (literally, unfortunately) Leaning back into the shadows so he could unsquint his eyes, Lilith looked through the crowd to find those he knew, his fellow 'students', then looked for the reasons for this whole things - the rulers of Narnia. They weren't that hard to spot, since they were standing on a platform, apparently ready to announce something. One was missing, but she'd show up sooner or later. For now, he'd study them as much as possible, their looks, their smells, habits...Everything. They'd be easier to take down that way.

Lucy was having the time of her life. There were so many new people to meet here! In typical Lucy-style, she'd gone about greeting new people with zeal since they first started arriving. Usually, she'd know everyone's name by now, but the number of people was so great, that she still only knew half of them. Going by the amount of guests, this tournament was definitely going to be a sucess!
While conversing with Princess Tamar, a young lady with whom Lucy had quickly befriended in the last 15 minutes, Lucy noticed that people were beginning to quiet down. Up on the dais, her brother looked like he was about to speak. Su and Ed were up there as well, and Lucy realized they were waiting for her. Oops. She quickly excused herself from the princess and made her way through the crowd to the dais, smoothing out her new dress and adjusting her crown as she moved. Once there, she took her place next to Edmund, murmuring, "Sorry for keeping you waiting."
Prince Danitror Fen Zalimae Jorolochvia was arrayed in his best -- which meant that not only was he wearing an abundance of silk and ruffles, but that he had taken the form of a tall, handsome man. Strutting around Cair Paravel, he introduced himself to everyone in view. He ignored the fact that everyone politely excused themselves after a few minutes of conversation with him. They were just intimidated by him, that was all.
And of course, they had a right to be intimidated. Not just by his striking good looks, rank, and intelligence, but because he planned to take down the monarchs, with just a tiny bit of help from the three others from the Academy. Obviously, though, he concealed his intentions from those he met -- which wasn't hard, considering their stupidity.
When the room quieted down, he stood aloof, waiting for the so-called High king to say whatever he had to say. Instead of listening, however, he began to go over his plans in his head. Narnia, of course, only played a small role in these plans. It was merely practice for taking back his own throne in Madrivista.
