The Lion's Claw tournament, the first one to be held by Narnia during it's Golden Age, is on the verge of beginning. Numerous invitations have been sent out to leaders near and far, with almost every one of them responding with the promise to join. The four Pevensies are spending every waking moment preparing for their guests. It will be a grand event - especially when four assassins from a dark magic academy join in...

A lone figure perched at the Shribble's banks, her stance almost predatory. Her fingers flexed in and out, the tip of her tongue exposed as she concentrated on the task at hand.
In one swift motion, she brought her arms upwards, fingers pointed straight out towards the river. The shimmering ripples detatched themselves from the current and hovered upwards in the air a moment before gravity subdued them and they dispersed once more into the rushing water.
The sorceress cried out in anger, bringing her arms down furiously, causing flames to eminate from her fingertips before she clenched them into a fist and extinguished them.
"Why is it not working?!" she shouted in desperation to noone in particular, seeing as noone else was around. The water reflecting the sun was supposed to gravitate and form together in mid-air, the sun's reflected rays allowing her to wield the liquid. She could never get them to form, though.
With a frustrated sigh she let her knees buckle and collapsed to the ground with an 'oomph,' a lucid expression frozen on her face. She was going to get this to work. She had to. She had heard there were beaches near the area the tournament was going to take place, and if there were going to be any competitions involving water, she needed to be ready. That was what she had been taught; be prepared for anything. And so she trained... hard.
It seemed to her like training was all she had been doing, though, since the invitation had arrived. She was excited to be going to the tournament, no doubt. It was an honored privilege to be chosen. But still, there was just so much hard work! Who was she to complain, though? The Academy had taken her in, and she was determined to pay them back for their hospitality, even if that meant acting as an assassin. Killing was the only thing she knew how to do, afterall.

The urge to train had become an epidemic among the students of the Academy. Plans were being made and set, tempers were rising. Ambitions were swelling. All in the name of the downfall of Narnia. How charming. This wasn’t to say that Adamar was exempt from these things. Like every student here, he had goals he hoped to achieve during this little competition. He was more reserved about them, however. There were some students boasting about what they were going to accomplish. Hot-headed trainees claiming that if they could just get the High King Peter Pevensie in a one-on-one duel….
That was foolish. Adamar had been a student at the Academy longer than most. So he’d been there, done that, the headstrong tough-guy talk. These days he knew better, as did most of the older, more experienced students.
The young man was darkly handsome with dark brown hair that was almost black, some stubbly facial hair, and strong eyes. Not much was known about him, but he seemed gentle enough to speak to. Rather laid-back, it took quite a lot to get Adamar riled up. He’d had his fill of training for the day, and he was winding down with a little stroll. The time for fighting would come, and to be quite honest, he could care less. Most were chomping at the bit.
He came across the sorceress, and he stopped to watch her in her frustration. He knew her, of course, they had both been students for some time. And Adamar was not at all surprised to see her so tense. His brown eyes watched the water droplets rise and then fall back down, and he gave a soft, amused sort of huff. “Well you’ll never get it that way,” he said matter-of-factly.
((OOC: Hope ya dont mind, I kinda just poked him in here ^^))

Aila's gaze flicked up, a bit surprised, at Adamar's appearance. Suddenly feeling embarassed by her lack of competence, she sneered and replied, "So I should just stand around and slack off like you, and then I'll get it?" Training all day had put her on edge, heightening her senses, but dwindling her temper all the same. Still, she reminded herself it was no reason to upset a fellow student. This was her family, and it was best to be as in tune as possible when attempting to assassinate the Narnian Royals.
So she let the comment roll of her shoulders, shrugging it off, and pulled her knees up to her chin to get comfortable. "How long 'till we set off to do our business?" she questioned, her voice manifesting no emotion, a trait she had acquired even before joining the Academy. She hoped the wait wouldn't be much longer; the anticipation was driving her mad.

A light grin spread across Adamar’s face, and he gave an amused little laugh. He had a tendency to unintentionally infuriate hot-headed individuals with his calmness. Yell and Adamar and he’d sooner laugh to your face than get upset. He never tried to irritate people with this, it was just the way he was. Slacking? Sure, why not? He trained when he felt like it—or strongly needed to. Right now, neither pressed him.
“Actually, that just might work,” he said, more out of teasing than anything. He watched her sit in a huff, unsurprised at her retort. Their personalities clashed…they would probably never see eye-to-eye on some things, but Adamar honestly didn’t care. He just kind of did his own thing.
He shrugged at her question. Soon, most likely, but he hadn’t heard any specifics from their leader. The atmosphere was thick with anticipation. Looking around a discerning eye could tell which students were excited, which were scared and trying to hide it, which were calm and confident. “No one’s said yet,” Adamar replied, watching his fellow student.

"Hrm.." was her only reply as she rose to her feet. "So, has Madame L'Ombre told you you're going yet?" she asked nonchalantly, feeling rather tired of training. She knew it was only a matter of time before L'Ombre picked the students who would accompany her to the Tournament, and she could guess which ones they were going to be. It was obvious which students were more capable than the others. Some worked hard, some didn't. It was as simple as that.
She was confident she would be going to the Tournament. Afterall, she had lived most of her life at the Academy, in turn practicing nearly every day. L'Ombre would be a fool not to take her, and she knew for a fact that L'Ombre was no fool. A hint of a smile spread across her lips, manifesting her confidence and pride.
OoC// Heh, she's a little snob XD

The enchantress stared intently at him, trying to read his expression. Silence overcame for a moment as she raised a brow slightly.
"If she has," she repeated, shrugging, "then I expected as much."
She knew he was more skilled than most of the students; there was no denying that. She also knew that they would need the most adept warriors, so it didn't bother her if he was going. Afterall, the Narnians had defeated the giants, which declared their formidability. There was no strength in numbers during an inside attack, though.
"Any idea who else is going? Besides you and me, of course." She hadn't been chosen, yet, but others did know her for her arrogance.
OoC// I'm not even sure formidability is a word XD

(*flail* Now we can finally get some stuff moving! And yay for a butt and snob! 'S time for insanity! XD *just a bit too much excited*)
"I might have some clue as to that," a voice sounded from above, laced with a dark amusement. Over their heads, a few leaves fell down, and if they glanced up quick enough, they would have seen a few tree branches swaying slightly. A moment later, cat-like orbs appeared on a lower branch, soon the rest of the body showing itself. A peciliar body perched on the low branch, the lower half like a cat's, the upper as a young human male. Eyes glinting, the so-called 'demon' flashed a feral grin, often something last seen by numerous other beings. Sharpened claws scratching the rough bark on the tree, Lilith the cat-hafling peered down at his two fellow students, the grin on his face revealing the fact that he knew something they, at the moment, did not. "But," he continued, speaking with deliberance, "All I'm supposed to tell you is that Madame wants you two to come directly back to the Academy. I seems as if she's going to be telling the students something..." His deadly grin flashed wider, once again showing off the fact that he knew a little something about this. However, that was all he seemed inclined to say, because the cat-boy lasped into silence, his eerie eyes flashing when they caught sunlight.

At the sudden rustle in the bushes, the girl whipped around, fire lacing her fingertips. Her worries were unneeded, though, for it was only Lilith.
It seemed, however, that the halfling knew something she didn't. And she didn't quite like that.
She made no sign to manifest her annoyance, though, and instead only shrugged. "Let's go, then."
OoC// Heh, sorry.. Almost forgot about this thread! Someone else want to make a new post at the Academy?
