I am the VP of Potomac Hunt Club up here in King George Va. We are in a bind. You see the tract we have had the longest (since 1959 or so) is also our most productive tract for deer, turkeys and coons. It is also currently our single largest tract that is one continouse strip. Anyway the guy that owns it is one of the founding members of the club from 1957. He is being forced into selling it. The county wanted the front section of it to put the new high school one. They made him 3 offers and he rejected all three because he did not want to get rid of it. Well they then sent him a notice telling him that if he did not list the property for sale and sell it on the open market then they were going to condem the whole tract and build the school anyway and he would get nothing.

The county has done this to other landowners around here for various things.. those that fought them lost their property. So with a sad and heavy heart he is selling it. I met with the guy who is probably going to buy it and he said we could retain hunting rights until he starts devolping it within the next 2 to 5 years if we met or beat the price he was being offered from the "club" that hunts most of his properties. They are known for being underhanded and sneaky about getting land and they have driven the prices up on some of the local tracts to $12 to $15 per acre, it is insane. They are also known for gatting caught doing openly illegal things in public eye but they have deep pockets so the gobble up what they want most the time.

We are having a raffle to see if we can hold onto this tract. We have also talked to the current landowner and the bank about maybe buying from him ourselves, it will depend on the raffle and how well it does.

The raffle will be running the entire month of May, the prizes will be drawn 6 days a week (not sundays). They are picked by the Va Lotto Pick 3 evening drawing. Which ever pick 3 numbers comes up on the evening drawing will be the winner of that days prize. Each ticket will win as many times as its number is drawn during the month. The prizes are mostly gins with some tree stands, cross bows and compound bows as well.. If you win a prize and do not want it you can get something else but if there is a price difference the winner will be responsible for the difference.. lets say you won a climbing stand and you have no need for it and you want a Rem 870 Super Mag... well if the stand cost $280 and the gun cost $330 then all you would have to do is pay the $50 dollar difference I am just useing these numbers as example...

Anyone who would like a prize list please let me know and I will get it to you asap, unless Chase and you guys would like me to post on one here as well. As far as making arrangments for getting tickets I am rasy to work with, I am planning on trying to get to southern Va a few times in the next few weeks( I am looking for some dogs down that way) so maybe we could meet, or do it by mail.. we can work it out.

We take care of paying for the background check as well...

If you live outside of Va and are interested no problem.. just email me and we will go from there..

Tell your buddies in your club and other clubs in your area about this to see if they would like some tickets.
Thanks guys for looking and thinking about helping out..

Chase thanks for sticking this for me in the threads!!!
