This is my daughter Kona shes 22 weeks now but only 21 at time of picture. She made her first retrieve on a dove at 9 weeks by digging it out of a pile of corn stalks and bringing it to daddy when he and mommy couldnt find it. then last week we had a flock of about 10 snipe flew over the dekes, stacy shot once downing 2 they lit and he tried to retrieve his own but without waders couldnt reach them and the current (We were hunting the James River mouth) pulled them out past my reach in waders. I had to wade out with her but she still swam with me untill she spotted the snipe and then I said "Kona" when she saw them and she took off, snipe saw her and dove, I thought "O crap its gonna duck her" but she saw him dive and went down after him and got him. She finished off by delivering 4 our of 7 snipe we killed I killed 3 with one shot stacy killed 2 with one shot and brian killed 2 with one shot. she did great the only thing I had to do was wade her out she wont launch alone yet but shes getting better. As you can see in the pic she was blown out after a day of hunting and her brother Monroe was happy to take a cat nap with her.
