Welcome all to dogdrivers.net. We are so glad to have you all here. This website is one that is trying to help keep the dog hunting traditions alive and well all over the world for many. many years to come. The following attractions are some of the things we want to know if you, our members, think are a good idea to have, would just enjoy discussing with other hunters, or would want to partake in. These things range in attractions from new forums to contests. The following items have been put into categories and listed under each in their proper categories.

New Forums, Topics, or categories:

1. More detailed exotic and/ or African game animal forums.

New Polls:

1. Should we start a forum for the users to make their own polls in so that they can get opinions before buying, hunting, or trading something. For example:
EX. Whats the best rifle cartridge for deer?
A. 270
B. 300 Win. Mag.
C. 7mm
D. 7mm Mag.
E. 30/06
F. 25/06

Then when posting your topic (like above) you would check your post daily and write down (or however you want to record) the answers, and use them to answer your question.

New Contests:

1. We are contemplating having trophy of the year contests. We would start with deer and work our way up to all of the animals in the trophy room. Should we do that and if so how long should the contests last?

Thanks guys and all the input counts so post as many times as you want.

I agree that we need to keep the heritage alive and well . I have a nine month old that i hope he loves his dogs as i love them. I do have one question when the deer trials start what area will you be covering? I live in eastern NC and love to trial for the fun and the exercise my dogs.

I plan to get up with some owners in the future and start a results forum so they can update me with results of each trial.

I would love for us to have a forum to discuss different ideas. I also have seen in some forums were this brings on alot of argueing. For instance I for one could careless about hunting in Africa but many people love it. So who am I to say that it is not good or fair chase. I think that Nugent said it best. As hunters we need to stick together on all hunting topics becouse there are to many people that want us to fail as a group(PETA). Maybe I am just rambling but anyway love the forum and can't wait for the next hunt. See ya S.W.

Definetly thats what I have always been preaching since I started on hunting forums. There are changes that need to be made but we do all need to stick together I definetly agree on that one.

I've been waiting for a website like this for a long time. I think this is a great ideal and a great way to reach out to our fellow hunters so that we may share ideals and opinions and help keep our hunting tradition alive. Having polls is a good way of getting different suggestions and ideals and having a trophy contest is a great opportunity to show other hunters the kind of deer you have in your state and may draw other hunters to your state boosting the economy. I'm looking forward to being a voice on this web. I give this web a thumbs up!!!

KEEP HUNTING WITH HOUNDS ALIVE!!!

Sounds like a good idea to me. Here's a quick question. What areas would your trophy contest cover for things like deer. In Areas i mean geographically. But yeah those sound like great ideas. Good job on this site!

DOGDRIVERS:

This forum needs a dedicated "Buckshot" section. This would be a place to share range testing results, info. on specialty buckshot chokes, buckshot handloads and non-traditional buckshot loads.

The world of buckshot is changing fast and pushing effectiveness to new limits. New loads like Federal's new line of Premium buckshot with Flitecontrol wads, Dixie Slugs new line of TriBall rounds for the 12 and 20 gauge and others are pushing the performance envelope beyond anything envisioned just a few years ago. We need a place to sort the wheat from the chaff and share our results.

The shotgun itself is seeing great improvements from barrel modifications like long forcing cones, backboring, wad-stopper chokes and innovative tubeless red dot sights. Many of these innovations are aimed at the turkey hunter and the practical shotgun competitor - can these improve the effectiveness of the DOGDRIVERS favorite smoothbore deerslayer?

Have you patterned your favorite "blue whistler" load? Are 3 1/2 inch buckshot loads really better? Hey let's talk about it.
