Whats the deal? Did nobody go deer hunting the past week and a half or just everybody to busy hunting to post about it lol? biggrin.gif ninja.gif Seriously though, we have not had a bad first part of gun season so far. I hunted opening day, and had a funeral to go to monday but hunted the following tuesday as well. also still hunted last thursday and am hunting again this thursday.

Opening day I hunted with a hunting club in weeksville. The dogs jumped first thing and run a cowhorn buck by me at probobly 40yrds but over there they have a buck rule so he was to small to shoot. The rule is like 13" or better I think. The horns cant fit in a five gallon bucket or its considered an illegal buck for that club. We ran a few does that where to far to shoot and a couple does crossed the road on us but the dogs never crossed over. Put on a decent buck at about mid-day and the boys missed him in the woods. After the dogs lost out on him we caught up and turned back loose in a different part of the block. We ran a few more does and smaller bucks but no shooters the rest of the day. Got everything caught up a couple hours before dark and a buddy of mine killed a doe walking milo fields that afternoon. Got her cleaned up and the dogs put away and heard about the other deer the other clubs had killed. The boys here in the neighborhood ended up killing three smaller bucks and my brother killed a 8pointer that was right at 15" wide. The boys in the hunting club I normally hunt with ended up killing two six pointers, two does and a 8pointer that was 17"wide.

That tuesday me and a friend of mine hunted back in the hunting club and messed around with an old track for most of the morning. Finally saw a doe at about mid-day but thats about it. Also hunted a second block that afternoon but never could get another deer up. Caught most of the dogs that afternoon and caught the last dog the next morning.

Later on that week my other brother's girlfriend ended up killing a doe and I shot a button buck that I thought was a doe on thursday. Both deer will make for some good eating later on.

Planning on hunting this coming thursday back in the hunting club. A few more of the boys are going and we are gunna be dropping dogs first thing in the am. Good luck to anybody getting out there and knocking some down and post it up if you do, everybody deserves the right to brag if you kill one lmao.. ninja.gif

ran all day yesterday. We turned loose on a buck with a doe....both of them checked out across the property and finally came back about 30 minutes later....the ol boy busted the cutdown about 200 yards from me and came straight to me. I shot him at about 70 steps...one shot one kill! he was a decent 7pt, bout 135 lbs...i'm not complainin!!

So far so good here in my part of the woods. Hunted last thursday and run a buck first thing in the morning on the big side of our club. He lost the dogs twice though and we caught up what we could because most of the dogs had gone to the main club. Ended up running three does out of the small block and then another buck later in the day out of a small cutdown block. Saturday I only hunted for about half a day near the house. I took two dogs and another boy took four beagle/walker cross dogs. Ended up running two does before my dogs headed to county line running something else. Got the dogs caught up and called it a day..

Yeah I know it man, this site just never really kicked off like it should have for some reason. I knocked number two of the year down tuesday afternoon. Shot a three point with the new 300magnum. Tickled to death with the fusion bullets Im shooting in it, they left a massive blood trail..

A girl that came as a guest killed a monster 6 point.....yes 6 point that was unreal with a 21 inch spread, the horns were perfectly matched on both sides. I have never seen a 6 anywhere close to this, hopefully she or the man she came with will bring some pics so I can post them.
