Marketing Ideas, Ideas needed to get single into top 40

OK kids we need all the help we can get to get "see the lie" in to the top 40. This means 2000 sales in one week (from mon 6th March).
Nothing that involves rod hull and aerials but everything else I'm game for.

You could give out free stuff at yer next gig. But not cds or any merchandising rubbish. Give out sweets. Skittles, M&Ms texan bars etc.

Sweets are a good way forward but I reckon a big pickup truck driving round with devarillaz on the back, a bit like the Queens of the stone "go with the flow" video but without the trucks crashing at the end to symbolise "Rumpy pumpy"

Hows about doing a gig where the money you make from it goes to some sort of local Charity. Get the papers involved and create a good bit of publicity for the band. Not only making more people aware of the band but also doing your bit for local Charities.

Worth thinking about

Maybe you could get flyers with gig and single details put on takeaway Pizza boxes. If only you had a band member or fan that worked part time for a pizza place like dominos or the hut. Just a thought.

Like the ideas so far. We need to go to a load of local unis and get thier radio stations to have us play live. just like lancs uni did on sat. Are there any shops that might let us do a gig in them?

Yep good idea, I believe BEANO's in CROYDON do just that.

Cool I wonder if there are any more we could do. Bromley Pound shop maybe. Or one of the shops on Letchworth drive where we did xmas lights gig.

OK how about doing a gig in Bromley High Street to passers by etc with a big banner and flyers with the single details on.

You could fake Rescue of a small child/ old granny and when interviewed by local telly sqeeze in the single details. Who woyuldn't buy the single of a hero. People are sheep look at the X factor record

Our fans arn't sheep they like proper music. they make a specific choice to avoid manufactured tat and see us. We're not cool, We've not have people on the telly telling them to come and see us we have discerning people who make thier decisions with thier ears.

Without a shadder of a doubt you current fans are a descerning bunch who make a conscious choice about what they listen to. However for the top 40 yer need some sheep too. Strength in depth innit.

Eh Oh. I like the nudie idea. You could go dressed as us.. Ash cold be me, Gaz could be Dipsy, Blakey could be La La. and Ian could be little po on her scooter. Dave should be the big baby sun face thing a bit like George daws but on keyboards.
