so there's been some discussion about reorganizing CS a bit in order to get rid of all the unnecessary forums and sections lying around unused.

as some of you may have noticed, i deleted the requests forum. the requests topic was moved to tutorials and resources for future use.

the next move i suggested was to simplify the huge discussion zone, by merging the four "corner" forums into a single "multimedia corner". this will be done in the forthcoming days, so complain now if you need to.

else, i welcome any suggestions, as usual.

Sounds fine to me... I don't usually participate in those forums, but it still seems reasonable.

that's the thing, the current activity doesn't justify so many forums.

dude, PJ functions with like, 6 forums. and all of them pretty much have to do with spriting.
i feel like if we collapse the discussions into a couple of forums it'd be nice.
i think the hi's and bye's could be like, a topic in announcements >_>

maybe put projects and collections down into like, a subforum
where you click it and you pick which you wanna go.
and the rpg part isnt being used. we could have that below mature chat.

pj is not a forum, it's a... website gallery thing. it doesn't work like a forum, its forum is like a side thing. it's not really the same thing.

but what's been said so far is along the lines of what you said. just remember we're limited by what IF is capable of.

Not really, IF is capable of just about anything. I remember seeing gallery scripts in my travels.
if not go externally and try to link it together, but thats hard seeing how you cant use there mysql servers.

you really need mysql to do anything with accounts, but its prolly to much money to get the data and stuff and switch to host your on your own site.

Figured I'd leave my mark xP

Kinda simple, but why not merge projects with personal galleries?

cause they serve different purposes, even if most people's personal gallery's their fakedex. :/ yeah i know, sounds silly but i'd rather not mix game making projects with personal showcases.
plus it's the boards' most important category, so let's get rid of the rest first.

Yea, and/or Projects and Members collections... I know that in essence the two are meant for different things, but it seems to me that these days they're pretty much used for the same thing. One could be a subforum of the other as well.

EDIT- I just noticed someone else said the same thing, but I like to "hear" myself talk so... :}

Can we "make" a more general forum that we could use to group a few of the current forums as sub-forums? Maybe make one called "Member Galleries" and then under that we could have member collections, projects, etc. Because literally speaking, each of those, displaying multiple sprite works, would pretty much qualify as a gallery.

There's no literature section, to my disappointment. s02.png

You could combine some of those sections though. Even if they are already a little combined.
