Title: Nintendo, you suck

Tiemen - July 15, 2008 05:25 PM (GMT)
I hate Nintendo. NOT EVEN ONE NEW THING WAS SHOWN THIS E3, NOT EVEN ONE COOL GAME. WHY NINTENDO, WHY? We don't want Wii Sports 2 and Wii Music, we want Kid Icarus, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Star Fox, F-Zero. And then that stupid uber-happy-always-smiling-woman. Why? Reggie should be there! O, wait, he was there. To tell us something about a graph. Wow. Nintendo, you really screwed it up. I'm so fucking pissed right now, I really feel like throwing my Wii and DS out of my window. Thank you Nintendo, I will now probably buy a 360 or PS3. They have real games.

So, thank you Nintendo, for screwing up this year's E3 and totally piss of core gamers.

I wouldn't say nothing was revealed

Tiemen - July 15, 2008 06:12 PM (GMT)
Animal Crossing Wii wasn't exactly new. >_>
And I really hate animal crossing.
I also think AC is more for casual gamers then for core gamers

Stratto - July 15, 2008 07:16 PM (GMT)
they should make all those wiiware games into real games.
like the wind spirit one. (i don't remember its name)
although a lot of game s are coming. gta Chinatown wars for ds, wii microphone, Pokémon platinum, megaman 9, new wario game, new kirby game, guitar hero ds 2 and more.

castiboy - July 15, 2008 09:15 PM (GMT)
ya mean... that's all? damn...

but oh well, everybody knew that after brawl, there would be no game worth buying on this console, which kinda makes the issue of not being able to update the console if you still wanna play your freeloader... not be an issue.

hehe... the only game i could be buying is... mario kart wii (why not... :/ ) or GH metallica (just cause i dont have an xbox anyway...).

PearledWave§ - July 15, 2008 10:39 PM (GMT)
I'm waiting for a Pikmin 3 :D

You've already been warned for spam smoox. I would think that would teach you a lesson.

To put it simply, STOP SPAMMING

Smoox - July 16, 2008 02:33 AM (GMT)
okay, okay, back on topic..

Nintedo is soon going to run out of original material, and the 360 will out-do it.
GTA is definitely going to draw people away from the Wii and toward XBox.

GTA is a totally different fanbase.

Nintendo's not going down without a fight, and Sony's still doing a hell of a lot worse.

If anything, Sony will die and Nintendo and Xbox will rival it out.

I knew when they came out with the Xbox it was bad news, that's why I never bought one. It's killing Sony, and without Sony, what will happen to FF? KH?

Meh. I guess they could move to the Wii, but that'd be... awkward.

Smoox - July 16, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
yeah, much like Resident Evil, which was originally platformed on the Playstation..

but isnt RE5 going to be on the 360?
(switching to another fanbase again? if so, sorry)

aocom - July 16, 2008 04:40 AM (GMT)
Considering that ff13 was announced to be available for the 360, I think that /if/ Sony were ever to drop out, FF would go there, but KH would go to Nintendo (what with com and 358/2). And then you could do keyblade stuff. :b
But I don't think Sony will die.

And you can't really say anyone is running out of 'original material' (unless they explicitly say something of the sort).
By saying its original implies that no one else currently has it and therefore we can't know about it until they announce it. Which in turn means we can't know they are running out of it. E3 still runs until the 17th, no?

yes, 14th to 17th.

and what i was implying by "original material" was that Nintendo hasnt come up with something new in quita a while.

castiboy - July 16, 2008 10:06 AM (GMT)
wrong, nintendo has came up with tons of new material over the past few years. the problem is that their new material is aimed at a different fan base than the usual "nintendo fanboy" we all are at some extent.
nintendo's definitely moving into way-too-casual gaming, with games like the touch generation ones, wii fit, and what else. not real games.

that's my issue with nintendo, i dont mind them doing those games, but remember the time when we had a new mario game every 2 years? good old SNES was it. well that's over, now it's 1 per console. that honestly sucks.

so basically, nintendo's winning the money race, but they're entirely switching their aimed costumers, leaving the actual gamers for a much more wealthy and larger audience: casual gamers.

Tiemen - July 16, 2008 12:54 PM (GMT)
I also don't mind that they make those games, but why do they use E3 to show them? Casual gamers don't come to or watch the E3. Nintendo shouldn't anounce that much casual stuff at a big event like that. The gamers that go to E3 want games like the next zelda, mario, metroid, kid icarus, f-zero, star fox and mother. They want to see disaster day of crisis, madworld, the conduit and fresh, new franchises. They don't want minigame compilation #27619, Wii Sports 2 or Wii music. Why doesn't Nintendo realise that?

castiboy - July 16, 2008 01:51 PM (GMT)
because they're not working on the games we want, we already got our zelda, metroid, mario, mk and ssb, so yeah, they've got no big awesome games coming soon no more.

Stratto - July 16, 2008 04:38 PM (GMT)
they're just waiting for the right moment to show them, its not like they can finish one of those games in 2 months.
oh sony and xbox are running aout of ideas. havent you heard? xbox is getting mii ripoffs, and home for ps3.

castiboy - July 16, 2008 07:17 PM (GMT)
yeah sure, e3, who cares, let's wait for the right moment...

must i remind you that they've showed brawl and zelda like everywhere more than 2 years before they were released? if they had some big project coming any soon, they would have said it and we would already know.

Now owning it will be useless!

Well, at least I already have a guide for it. D:

Eisbrecher - July 20, 2008 10:08 AM (GMT)
Yes Nintendo suck, mainly the European branch for me.

English Darkrai Event coming up and the locations that have been chosed just seriously suck.

London - 2 events
Kent
Exeter
Portsmouth
Few other places in the south
Birmingham has no event
Manchester has no event

Liverpool has an event
Scotland has 2 events
No Event for Northern Ireland

So basically Nintendo drop two major English cities for Liverpool which is like the Bronx of England.

Midnight Umbreon - July 20, 2008 11:57 AM (GMT)
Read the comments.
"Then maybe Joystiq should post the rest of Miyamoto's quote so you can dry your tears:

"So while attending an E3 event like this, they might be given the impression that Nintendo is no longer focusing on the games that appeal to the core gamer, in fact we’re still working on many of those titles, but it’s just not the type of event where we’ll be showcasing that anymore.""

idk, I really think I'm going to get a 360, if I get a new one at all.

Jake - July 26, 2008 05:21 AM (GMT)
E3 got screwed over, if you guys know.

One of my best friend invited me to go with him to go to it, but they've changed a hell of a lot.

Like, getting tickets required knowing someone he knew someone, and so much had changed.

Just don't think of E3 as what it used to be. Sure, some shit rocked (Like GoW3), but somethings you just aren't gonna see happen anymore.

Uchiha Blood - July 27, 2008 04:28 PM (GMT)
Nintendo's games at E3 were kinda of boring but I'm pleased with AC: City Folk. I was waiting because I knew they would and the news of Pikmin 3 is good news.

However, I believe Sony won E3. The fighting and war games are something that most gamers like. For example, me. I'm still wishing that they will come out with another Halo, one to go the book based on the mission at Harvest.

One thing disappoints me though, they are not going to come out with a Ranger's Apprentice game. As far as I know, there is not one under production. Anyone else here who has read the Ranger's Apprentice series and think they should make a game?

PearledWave§ - July 28, 2008 05:40 AM (GMT)
I really want that Little Big Planet game :/ Sadly it's a PS3 exclusive... even though it looks like a game for the Wii. I'm not spending that much money just for one game though.

Nintendo just sucked at E3. Animal Crossing was the only non "Wii ___" game.

megazee - August 3, 2008 05:09 AM (GMT)
I'm getting a PS3 just for that. That's $650.00 to play one game, everybody. Omigawsh. New Pikmin. This is so great. I wish Nintendo had more coming, but I am both a hard core gamer, and a casual one. It really depends on my mood. I like fun and silly games, but some times I get absorbed into a game until I've beat it. Then I try multiplayer, and play against my best friend and arch-rival. :D

D00D

Kingdom Hearts.

I be gettin' a PS3 for that at least.

Echo - September 22, 2008 01:51 PM (GMT)
Hmm...
I personally think that Nintendo's at a down point, yes.
I do believe Sony will win this war though. Look at what they did with the PSP; it was too little for the $200 you had to shell out, and it hardly did anything. Then along came software updates and after a while it dominated the handheld scene (Don't yell at me 'cause there wasn't much competition)

I think the PS3 will do the same thing. Every time it upates, it gets better. Being a core gamer, I do play on all platforms, but I really don't play online much on the X360. I do love my PS3's online capabilities and the fact that it's free.

The Wii is a complete load of fail and that's Nintendo's own fault.
They're trying to 'bring back videogaming' like they did in the '80s and it's totally unnecessary. My dad bought a Wii. Just to play Wii Sports.

I think one of the reasons Nintendo's being stupid about this is that some people buy the Wii only for use as a console to play Wii Sports.
Most people who aren't that 'tech-savvy' (Haha yeah RIGHT) don't realize you can play other games on it, or even the Wii Shop Channel.

The Wii's a load of junk. Older hardware than the Xbox classic, and the motion controllers are overrated.

I think Sony and Microsoft are going to be the last two.
Nintendo really just isn't for gamers anymore, apparently.

splat edit: eventhough I think you're right, I must conclude you bumped a thread older than a month. Please don't do it again :)

castiboy - September 22, 2008 06:12 PM (GMT)
that's the problem, they don't need gamers, they sell wiis to your dad.

they won't lose anything, they're just going a different direction, where the money is.
