Hey guys!

As a continuation of the old post on the old BC...

"Hey all,

Do you guys really like Bionicle? I'm not a fan of it. It seems to be based on "play value" and action toys. And plus, you can't use Bionicle pieces with system pieces that well. Well the Viking monsters were pretty cool.

Why do you like or dislike Bionicle?"

You can post again to boost our number of posts.

Bionicle is a pretty tough matter... I like some aspects of bionicle. Or rather I like some of the pieces that you can use for mechas and monsters but I dislike the line as a whole. But heck, LEGO gains tons of money from it so I assume it´s good, but I had rather liked them to devote their energy to do better system sets....

Yes. I enjoyed them for a while until I realized I wasted a good bit of money. I use some pieces from time to time yet haven't found a use for them in my current castle craze. Like you said LEGO is making a mint off of these sets... hopefully that mint can go to use in the production of better castle sets.

Well, I don´t own a single Bionicle set but I have some pieces that I have gotten through other things (Vikings etc...) Maybe some things could be worth buying but right now I don´t have a spare öre (err....cent...whatever)
I had hoped for quite a lot of LEGO for Christmas but I didn´t get a single brick dry.gif so tomorrow I´ll pillage my local TRU for HP and Vikings.... Bionicle will have to wait.... a very long time I think

But if anyone here knows a lot about Bionicle and could reccomend something that could be useful for monsters etc I´d be glad to hear it.

Sadly, all the pieces I have are when Bionicle first came out. You'll just have to zoom in on a few TLG pics to find the pieces you need. sad.gif

I don't like Bionicle, it dosen't remind of LEGO at all. More like action figures to me. Maybe I'm just stubborn. I'm just not a fan of LEGO with out minifigs.

I admit though, Bioncle mixed with system LEGO can have some cool effects. I still dislike the big juniorized Bioncle weapons though. dry.gif

I'm not completely in love with Bionicle. The 'maxi-figs' looks really interesting, but the minifig-scaled doesn't appeal to me. But I bought the viking sets and the concept of a 'bionicle-like' monster is really cool, so I'm still interested into the theme.

I don't like Bionicle, but I have to admit I bought the first movie and found the music and some scenes to be somewhat enjoyable.

Anyway, the pieces do come in handy if you know how to use them. Vikings definitely opened up new possibilities for it.

To me its the opposite, Im actually looking forward to the new ones, that will work perfectly as trolls and other creatures for the castle theme.

The 2005 figs sucked, however.

KK2:1 had the worst figs. KK2:2 had better ones - aka more Shadow knights, improved shields and colours. KK2:3 looks good from the pictures so far, but no Shadow knights but Vladek!

Go Bionicle!

I pretty much like everything about Bionicle except-

1. The new artist. He can't even draw stick figures (which is sad, seeing as Bionicles are pretty much enhanced stick figures).

2. Comparing the Piraka to gangsters. Why? They're trying to "Coolify" Bionicle. But instead, they're making it worse. Plus, they aren't gangsters, if you read the books and comics.

But other than that, Bionicle is great biggrin.gif !

Personally, I have a hard time following the story. This is due to the fact that LEGO can't give realistic names to their Bionicle characters. I, for one, find the Toa powers to be cool, but when you don't even know their names....

You get what I mean.

What do you mean by "realistic"? Do you mean an actual real name, or one that is just simpler, like the KK2 names?
