Background and History:
Zammzt grew up in the large town of Bortne. His father inducted him into the local smith at a young age. For the next twenty five years, Zammzt spent every day learning the trade. After finally completing his training, he was ready to quit. He soon found the life of a soldier more interesting, becoming a scout for the local militia and soon rose through the ranks.

While in the guard, he found his true love. Fighting. While most dwarves were trained with either the axe, the pike, or the hammer, Zammzt found them bland an unchallenging. Looking for a new weapon, a friend jokingly said “Why not wield two flails?” Though Zammzt didn’t know it at the time, he accepted the challenge, declaring “Ye’ll see what I can do!”

A flail came naturally to Zammzt, but upon adopting the second, everything changed. He had to change everything about his fighting style, and eventually left the guard for several years to perfect his training. When he returned, he still carried the two flails he had left with, though battered and broken. Though rejoiced to see him, his friends were angered that he left to do something so silly.

Picking up both flails, he challenged each one to a duel. Thinking it a jest, they did. Each was amazed at what he had become. Zammzt moved each flail with grace and perfection, disarming his opponents with the chains, knocking them off their feet, and making an impossible to breach barrier using the crisscrossing lines of the balls. They were stunned.

Immediately after returning, Zammzt went to his home, and began forging. For ten days no one saw him, but when he returned, he was different. The flails were renewed, each seeming more perfect then the day they were crafted, his dented armor had been repaired, and redesigned. And then he left. Again.

He has not returned to Bortne since, but his shop is still open, his assigned smithy waiting for him to come home.
