New guy here. Congrats on recruiting in some fresh meat! Before I move on with character generation and plot, I'd really like to get everyone's criticisms and ideas. Can you all do me a favor and reply with some feedback? I'd love to hear it.

More stuff you wish I hadn't told you: I'm 22 (http://photos-136.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v63/208/54/15704685/n15704685_32198136_3608.jpg (I'm the guy) ), making me allegedly the oldest member here. I've been writing and RPing more than half my life, and have some semblance of plot control and idea generation under my belt, although I have my share of weaknesses. Please, feel free to email me and shoot some ideas my way, I'd love to strike up a good brainstorming conversation.

Appearance:
Though I can't say the guy's pulchritude is very important to me, I'm thinking I'd like to try something a little on the middle-aged side. Sidhe beauty would put him somewhere on the level of Leonidas (http://www.lacoctelera.com/myfiles/angeldelamusica/300-32.jpg), and his coloring would be earth-tone-based, brown and green.
King Zael has made a habit of wearing his breastplate around, even when not at war or in combat. It shines in the sun, and on the top of a hill can be seen from as far away as the treescape allows. He's a large, muscular man, but stands at a very average 5' 11". Sadly, he will never quite reach six foot.

Personality:
Warm. That's the first word most citizens can think of to describe their king, and rightfully so. He is almost unconventionally friendly, and though he has the wary mind of a politician, thrives on the small moments made by briefly connecting with a stranger or friend. He will aggressively pursue comaraderie, and delights in the inclusion of the outcasts who stand alone (which, occasionally, is neither warranted nor wanted). In court, the type that would sooner go home and give up on socializing may or may not find themselves cornered by a grinning warrior-king.

Being good-natured only gets you so far, however. He is boyishly competitive, and has many-a-time broken into a run just to beat a general or crier to the streetcorner. As an athlete, he is fiercely curious about the limits of his body, and if he had the time would spend his days in tournament.

Little-known to few but Silvia and a small handful of others, he is haunted by a mounting outrage at the state of the world. His fury grows as he witnesses the cruelty and misdeeds of his citizens, but most prominently because he is powerless to stop it. His temper is slow, but white-hot and violent once erupted.

Political affiliations:
His relationship with the queen Arianna is tumultuous at best, and wrought with distrust and tension. Though he would prefer to unite the grand kingdom under the worship of Alanor itself, he is resigned to a cold war with the ice queen.

Miscellaneous:
He is a single ruler and has not yet picked a lover of either gender. Zael enjoys an active dream life, but suffers from nightmares. He has a weakness for chess and winemaking (try the pumpkin, although it's kind of strong), and surprisingly has literally no aptitude for dancing. At all.

Hullo meat new person who is two years older than I am. ^^

A couple of things: the mantel can't be some kind of hound because that's a domesticated sort of creature, as in, you won't find them in the wild. So... yeah. XD no dog breeds for us, though you can have several species of wolves to pick from.

...This is the first time I've ever had to look up a [real, used correctly] word for an rpg (at least in recent years)--pulchritude. I'm hovering between being aghast at myself and amusement. XD And huzzah! A guy with muscles! A person who actually wants a guy with protruding muscles (wait, Dan has a guy with muscles too, I think, only his charry is huge)

Hmm... 'mounting outrage at the state of the world' though? You're assuming that we, your oh so loyal (heh) citizens, are out being cruel to the, uh, trees and such. Unless it's part of that backstory of the new Alanor (is it? Have I missed something once again?), it's a generalization you can't really make.

Wee bit confused with that bit. Does this mean that he wants to combine the two courts into one and rule over both? As for the ice queen thing, I think Shini has Arianna more like some kind of flirt right now who's really a backstabbing bitch (um, my quick reiteration from what I've skimmed in Shini's profile XD). Maybe you should talk with Shini some (unless you did and you've agreed and haha, I should just shut up) and get the two character's relationship with the other straightened out.

All in all, the guy seems fine for a monarch. We're not horribly picky anyway *SHOT* As long as we can't walk all over him (haha), I think he'll be okay. Let's see... oh yes.

Hawt. This is the first time I've decided I like the Monarch set out for us (besides Naritcher. I <3'd him too!) I've never really approved of most of the rulers of the courts....I mean to say I've never really enjoyed them. I will thoroughly enjoy this person, and I think he'll get along great with my character Haley. She'd enjoy going up against him in running matches ^.~ .

I like him. But yeah, Arianna's no ice queen. She's too..."nice" for that, you could say.

As for the "state of the world," I'm with Icey on this one. There really isn't anything to be angry at. As in, backstory? What backstory...there is no backstory. If you got another nifty idea, go for it! Expound any everything.
