Actually, they told me this isn't something abnormal. They'll fine-tune things after they're in their right spots. So... if it's according to plan, I'll trust him.

So yeah, new appointment update, I've gotten some rubber ties on my lower row - after they put it on, they remembered they needed to replace my bottom wire with another type, so they undid the tie, replaced the wire, then put the tie back on. That wasn't pleasant. My teeth were aching during work that day. This was yesterday this happened.

Wow, It's been a while.

My recent appointments weren't anything much. Just changing wires and giving different rubber bands. I don't need those ties anymore. The next one is something I'm looking forward to, though. Remember that "Nance" thing at the roof of my mouth? Next time, it's coming out! YAY!

Well, it's been done. My nance is out. But yeow... my teeth hurt. They had to break the glue and get the nance off by sliding the back rings out. Then they fitting new rings on, then took them out, put glue on them then put them right back in... then they get a new wire in there.

My next appointment will be sooner. Apparently there's something going on with my mouth that shows I need to get out of these braces soon. So I'm getting to the end of this long and mouth-troubling road!

August 13th / Sept 3rd

Not much to say here, just some fine-tuning. This says I'm in the final stages. This year, very soon, I'm going to get this things off! Yahoo!

I always was looking forward to hearing the dude say my braces would be ready to be taken out in a matter of months, I started counting days down, from 3 months

It didn't feel like they were pulling my teeth out at all. The stuff they used just was nasty. Had to keep my mouth open way to long though. Good luck at the 5th.

This ain't to be messing with you, but my experience says you'll be fine. (At least, I was, so that gives you at least a 95% chance)

I'm sure I'll need some kind of support after the fact. The worst of the soreness I get when my braces are messed with occurs later. So I can only imagine how my teeth with feel after snapping the glue off of my teeth... Ouch

Well, I'd like to add that I'll be having my wisdom teeth taken out on Oct. 7th, supposedly. Then, I can have braces again. Oh btw when the time comes for you braces to be removed, brace yourself. Haha I just had to. :]

BRACES ARE OFF!!! YAHOO!!! ^^
It was a real pain to get those brackets off, but after that, cleaning, polishing, removing glue, and a couple gag reflexes from the mold impressions for my retainers (coming soon), I got through it. And I even got a complementary candy bag - candies of stuff I wasn't allowed to have while I had braces!
Next up is my retainer, and then it'll be a completed journey. ^^

Lucky for you, with the retainer. Unless I'm being dumb as **** this morning. I got them metal thingies stuck behind my teeth, for them to be unable to move back to their failed positions. Hoping for you retainer isn't that.

Oh, my retainers aren't metal at all. I don't have them yet, but they're not composed of wires. These look like plastic teeth coverings. I'm sure it's not plastic, but that's what it looks like.

Having checked out my brother's pair of retainers, (because he leaves them and everything else all over the bathroom we share in the morning, looks like a freakin' bomb went off), it's definitely some kind of plastic or acrylic covering the wires and other hardware.

Which is good because those look like those would really, REALLY hurt otherwise. ><

But glad to hear the braces are off. ^^ But wear the retainers as long as and how the orthodontist told you to, though, or your teeth'll go back to what they were... Boy's started to revert after he lost his retainer. My parents were thrilled and he had to buy a new set of retainers... Wasn't a pretty scene. >_>

Actually from what I hear, it's a bit better to wear them a bit longer than what's recommended... just in case, you know? I get my pair on Thursday. I hope my teeth haven't moved too much since the impressions taken... I doubt it though. Although my sister did have that problem.

I seem to have worded that really really wrongly from what I intended... ^^;

What I meant was 'wear the retainers how the orthodontist said to, and don't start slacking or your teeth will revolt.' Like, my brother had to wear them all night and for at least part of the day for two years. Then he started slacking on both and he's set himself back massively. Two year reset, I think.

So yeah, longer than they said would prolly be a safe bet.

Oh, I know. I just mean if my teeth havemoved too much before I get them, that'll be a problem, too, like what my sister had. So I know how teeth move if they're not restrained.
