QUOTE (nymetsfan25 @ Jul 25 2006, 10:47 PM)
I'm not a big fan of step-sides.

That's what I was able to get the best deal on at the time, other then that its just a matter of taste. dry.gif

I get to drive A LOT of different vehicles. My department has 5 ambulances, 5 fire engines, two water tenders, a heavy brush truck, a small rescue/ brush truck, Chevy P/U, Ford F-250 P/U and a Dodge Ram with a Hemi. I have driven all of them. The most expensive of the group is our Engine 4, a 15 year old Pierce still worth about $300,000.

When not at work, I drive a sunfire or my wife's venture.

Thats awesome, I'd love to drive an ambulance or firetruck, although not for a living. I don't know if I could handle all that.

The job itself is a lot of fun. Some cringe at the thought of dealing with blood and gore, but it really isn't that bad. There is something within our human nature that allows us to focus on taking care of someone.
As for driving code (lights and sirens), nothing else compares.
