Freddie was born in England on Feb 14th, 1992, making him 14 years old today. His first acting role was in the film, 'Women Talking Dirty' where he played the role of Sam, the son of a single mother in Edinburgh, Scotland, who develops an unlikely friendship with a shy cartoonist. Freddie followed up this performance with the Television special, 'Happy Birthday Shakespeare' in which he played Steven Green, 'The Mist of Avalon' where he played the role of the Young King Arthur, 'Jack and The Beanstalk: The Real Story' and 'I Saw You' where he played the part of Oscar Bingley.

7/24/06: 14-year-old Freddie Highmore (Discussion) and 15-year-old Sarah Bolger (IMDb) have been cast as the three Grace children in the Nickelodeon Movies fantasy film "The Spiderwick Chronicles," which begins shooting Sept. 12, 2006, in Montreal. And no, that's not a mistake - the two actors play three roles: Highmore will play the dual role of the troubled Jared and his bookish twin Simon, and Bolger will play their sister Mallory. Based on the best-selling series of children's books by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi, "The Spiderwick Chronicles" tells the story of the three Grace children who move with their mother to the ancient Spiderwick mansion. There they discover Brownie, an enchanted creature who introduces them to a world of goblins, fairies and sprites. US release date is projected for December 25, 2007. Bolger will be seen next month in "Stormbreaker" in the role of Sabina Pleasure; Highmore will next be seen as the young version of Russell Crowe's character in "A Good Year," in theaters November 10, 2006.
