Morrigan shot the male a wary, frightened look. "I... I was supposed to die last winter, when I was born. If I don't put the death on others, he'll kill me this winter." She looked at the ground. "I'm bad luck..." She was trembling, but the older female's words made her look up again, though she had no real idea of what the other was talking about. Draw spirits? See something onther than what was in front of her? She had never done that. Still, one thing stood out from the rest of her speech.

"A protection from dying?" Oh, yes, she was interested in that. "I don't think I could ever do any of that... I just bring misfortune. To others. To myself." She curled her scrawny tail downwards, flattening her ears and whining. Her instincts screamed to run away right now, before they caught on and drove her out and killed her for being bad luck, but the hostility of the older female kept her in place. She doubted running would get her anything other than a broken back and a torn out throat, and she didn't want to die at all, despite her certainty that she would. It was hard for a pup to come to terms with its own death, and she was no exception, even when she had been told that she would die from the beginning of her memory.

Jurune ignored most of what the young girl had to say, as it was normal English and therefor didn't make that much sense to the one who spoke in tongues. Still, the claim that she was bad luck made the strange animal's ears twitch with curiosity. Could this mean that she was an omen? A true omen of the dead? "If I don't put the death on others, he'll kill me this winter." Such words could only make sense when spoken from the lungs of a true omen, a rare creature that could escape death at the price of being a harbinger of it to others. Finally, a piece of the puzzle clicked into place; Jurune's eyes shone with a weird sort of otherworldly glow, though it was difficult to see past the dead, glazed look. "You are an omen. A creature that warns of misfortune, but skates past death as one may skate across a frozen river. A rare breed indeed," she explained.

Then she turned to Yokushin, who seemed interested in what she had been saying about connections through the earth and land into the Spirit and Underworlds. Perhaps he had not yet discovered what Jurune had known most of her life. Being so close to death for so long had done things to her. Some could believe, and others could not. Was what she was saying complete garbage? Or did it in fact carry a certain bit of truth to it? "It means that you may still be able to connect with her through this place, should she wish to listen and should you both call this place home," she said, feeling that this was probably the most accurate description that she could give of the phenomenon.

Yokushin wasn't all that fond of the younger female's words. If she was bad luck, he most certainly didn't need her around him because he attracted enough misfortune all on his own and didn't need someone else giving him more bad luck. He simply had plenty of his own to go around and couldn't help but take a few (small, and very very subtle so not to offend!) steps back. The heir honestly didn't know what to say to her because he had tried coaxing her out of her proverbial shell to no avail and now that she was actually talking with them, he found her very odd. "Well, I don't think you're going to die and I hope you're not bad luck." he said with a feigned smile, wagging his tail gently but still keeping his distance.
But, he did listen hungrily to Jurune's odd words with a furrowed brow. He wanted nothing more in life to be with Mother again and if a strange connection was the best he could do, maybe he would just have to settle for it. Even if it was very strange and required a lot of belief when it came to the occult and related items, Yokushin actually considered it. However, he wanted to think more on that on his own terms, not in the company of these two strange girls. They seemed to be going on about omens and rare breeds and other things that meant nothing to him. "Well I hope that's true, I would love to be able to 'connect' with her any way possible.." he said quietly then decided it was time he duck out of his conversation. "I.. I'm going to get going so I hope you two, uh, have a nice chat. See you." he said awkwardly shuffling his posture and feet as he looked from wolf to wolf. With that said, he turned on his hind paws and trotted out of this foggy place to collect himself elsewhere.

Yamamap
Weather
(November)
We are now nearing the end of what has been a chill Autumn season. Things continue to cool down considerably and we are now starting to see the first signs of snow, ice, wind, and bitter cold in the northern areas. Many days are cast with grey skies, but occasionally we still have some sunshine. This sun is not like to last for long, and it is still terribly cold even when it is shining brightly. So far the human issues to the West have calmed down somewhat but probably only because of the colder weather. Meanwhile, life in Yamamori continues, though perhaps something sinister is in the works.

Temperatures for the month will remain from 30-50 degrees with a 70% chance of rain, snow in the northern areas. Storms are likely and will include violent wind, heavy downpours, sleet, and possibly snow.

The litter of puppies is now seven months old. They have a good hold on language even though they're still learning somewhat. They have lost all of their baby teeth and can now practice hunting skills, but they will have to wait until they are eight months old to participate in pack hunts. They can only capture smaller animals for now and need to be taught to improve.
