YGBB Announcement

Hey everyone!

As promised, here is the BIG update that I was talking about. It will affect each and every one of you so read carefully!

YGBB will move to an IPB board sometime in May. Also, YGBB's third year anniversary is coming up in July so...yeah, this will be a present to all of us and our YGBB members<3 So please try to help out in some way.

When we move to the new forum, we will keep this Invisionfree version open as an archive so people can see the old photos and news. We will close registration so it won't be overrun by spambots.
We are purchasing an IPB package and buying a domain. In total, this costs $40.

Our domain name will NOT be YGBB unfortunately. This is because we had YGBB.net with a Brazilian hosting service that we could no longer use because we ran into problems (people in some countries couldn't access the forum ): ) We have 1.5 years before YGBB.net is available to us to purchase again.

Our staff members have been talking, and we came to the decision that we want it to be YGBBlove because it's short and sweet. (Credits to Michelle/cookieMuncher for the name!)

Since many of us are attached to YGBB.net, once 1.5 years are over ad YGBB.net becomes available again, we will hold a poll for members to vote on whether to stick with ygbblove or go back to ygbb.net.

The donations deadline will be April 30th, 2009. We think it's a good time to move in May because that's when the Big Bang boys will be on break!

FOR THOSE WHO CAN DONATE:

-You can either send it through the mail OR Paypal. In your PM, please indicate which way you'd like to donate. **If you do Paypal, keep in mind that Paypal charges a fee for every transaction!**

Dana showed me this link to a paypal fee calculator for those who are paying by paypal. You can use this to calculate how much you should send to cover the Paypal fee:

-If you do it in the mail, please make sure to conceal the cash really well. Wrap something like a blank piece of paper around the money so that there is less chance of it getting stolen. It might be helpful to put your YGBB username on the paper so Sophia knows it's from you). DO NOT SEND CHANGE/COINS. It will be very obvious there's money in the envelope then.

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS! (: For those of you who applied, thank you!
FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T DONATE:

-Don't feel pressured to donate. There are other ways to help such as finding people to help out as a staff member.

* graphic artists
* web admin (in charge of main site we'll have)
* tech admin (in charge of tech. stuff for the forum and skin/layout)

Oh yeah, please remember to continue to follow the rules of the forum, follow the individual rules for each section in YGBB, do NOT break signature rules (check to see if you're breaking the rules), and remember, if you're posting up news, check to see if it's already been posted and also check to see that the news is from a RELIABLE site (this rules out allkpop, other blogs where the articles are opinionated. Opinionated things aren't a bad thing, but we want the news to be as accurate as possible ^^)

This was a really long post, but really packed with information. Hopefully everyone's all updated on what the future for YGBB looks like as of now!

Wow... YGBB will be moving to IPB <3 That's great news! Congratulations to the forum! YGBB has come very , very far since 2006. I'll miss this IF forum XD

yup, unfortunately, everyone has to create a new account. however, when the site is ready to be opened, i will PM every single person on here so that you guys will all know to go on the new site ^^!

i was worried at first, but after reading the whole thing i'm glad ygbb isn't REALLY closing. it's just moving. this is the first Big Bang forum i joined and i always have this place to come for Big Bang, so i'm glad it's not closing.

i wish i could help out. i hope all goes well with the changes!

I think I'll be donating! I'm just in the middle of moving and reno so my money is basically for buying picture frames to frame our boys in my room, but when I have the extra cash, it's coming your way :)
