The show immediately opens with the Raw General Manager Shane McMahon coming out to the ring wearing a suit, but wearing sunglasses and also having his right arm in a sleeve. He gimps down the ramp and into the ring and then grabs a mic. Shane says that at Wrestlemania he definitely got his butt beaten in a rough no holds barred match with AJ Styles. Shane says that even though he has been beaten all over the place at Wrestlemania, he is still standing as the General Manager of Raw. Paul Heyman then comes out to a massive pop from the crowd. Heyman gets into the ring and grabs a mic. Heyman says that he thought the beating that McMahon received from the hands of AJ Styles would have changed his mindset up a bit, but it didn't. McMahon finally snaps and says that he has made Raw even better since he took over the show, and that more fans tune in every time to see what will happen next whether it is with The Kliq or somebody else! Heyman smiles and says that if Shane McMahon wants to fight for his job, then he can do so at Backlash when he will face Ted DiBiase in a match where the stakes are ever so high: if Shane McMahon wins he gets to keep his job as Raw General Manager, but if Ted DiBiase wins he gets a WEW Championship match and Shane McMahon will be fired from his position as Raw General Manager! Shane looks disgruntled by the announcement and then Shane says fine, nothing will change the future and the WEW will one day be fully his! Shane leaves the ring and then Ted DiBiase's music plays and the Ted DiBiase comes out onto the stage to confront Shane McMahon!!!!! Both men have a staredown on the stage and the fans are giving Ted DiBiase a nice big pop from the crowd.

Backstage we see a limo pull up and Triple H gets out of the limo alone. Where is the rest of the Kliq?

We get a recap of the Money in the Bank Ladder match at Wrestlemania and Randy Orton winning the match to become Mr. Money in the Bank!

Randy Orton wins after reversing the SCF from Miz and then delivers the RKO and gets the pin for the win!

Randy Orton taunts in the ring and is handed the Money in the Bank briefcase and taunts with it to receive a nice pop from the crowd.

Backstage we see Paul Heyman in his office and AJ Styles comes in. Styles says that it was a privilege kicking Shane McMahon's ass at Wrestlemania, however he feels that he is deserving of a WEW Championship match. Heyman says that tonight he will make an announcement regarding the next WEW Championship match for Backlash. Styles smirks and then walks out of the office.

The Intercontinental Champion CM Punk comes out to sit at ringside to watch the upcoming contest that will determine his opponent for Backlash!

Big Show wins after ducking a big boot to the face and hits the KO punch on Nash and then pins him for the win!

Big Show taunts in the ring and then CM Punk gets into the ring and both men shake hands in the ring and then Punk holds up the Intercontinental Championship belt to a nice pop from the crowd.

The WEW Champion John Cena comes out to a huge massive pop from the crowd. Cena gets into the ring and grabs a mic. Cena says that this has been a long time coming, and finally he lived a Wrestlemania moment by defeating Triple H to become the new WEW Champion for a second time! Cena says that no matter what, he will not back down from a challenge and never give in to surrender. Just then Triple H's music plays and Triple H comes out to boos from the crowd. Triple H gets into the ring and grabs a mic from ringside. Triple H says that Cena's win at Wrestlemania was a fluke and if Cena says he cannot back down from a challenge then Triple H announces that he has signed his rematch clause and at Backlash will be facing Cena for the WEW Championship. AJ Styles comes out to a nice pop from the crowd and gets into the ring. Styles says Triple H has been on the mountain for the way too long and it is time that he takes a back seat and allows someone else to challenge and compete for the WEW Championship. Paul Heyman comes out and says that Triple H has indeed signed his rematch clause, however AJ Styles has made a point and back at in January he was screwed out of a chance of becoming the WEW Champion. At Backlash it will be John Cena versus Triple H versus AJ Styles in a triple threat match for the WEW Championship!!!!!!!

Backstage we see The Kliq in a locker room and they look disgruntled. Shawn Michaels enters and the guys ask him what is going on and congratulate him on his win at Wrestlemania. HBK says thanks but says tonight he will confront Seth Extreme in the ring tonight.

Shawn Michaels comes out to a nice ovation from the crowd and gets into the ring. HBK says that at Wrestlemania he had one of the greatest matches of his career with Seth Extreme. HBK continues saying that he retired after his dream match with The Rock over a year ago, but then returned to have another run with his friends. However he has realized that it is indeed time to put the boots away for good and say goodbye to the competition. Shawn Michaels announces his official retirement from active professional wrestling but that he will not bow away entirely, as he will always be around in some capacity. The fans start chanting for one more match, and HBK smiles but says that he had it at Wrestlemania and it was the best one ever. Suddenly, Seth Extreme's music plays and Seth comes out to a massive pop from the crowd. He walks down the ramp and gets down into the ring and grabs a mic. Seth looks into the eyes of Shawn Michaels and says that at Wrestlemania he had the honor to share the ring and stare into the eyes of, not a man that represented the Kliq and their antics, he looked into the eyes of a real man, he looked into the eyes of Mr. Wrestlemania himself. Seth says that he lost to Mr. Wrestlemania, and it was honor to fight to the very end. Michaels smiles and says that he is glad to hear those words and that it was a tremendous honor to face the face of WEW. Both men shake hands and then Seth leaves the ring in respect for HBK. As Seth heads up the ramp, Kevin Nash comes running out and attacks Seth!!!! Nash stands over Seth and HBK looks on from in the ring.
