“This is pointless,” Samara mumbled to herself as she entered a bright city in the Life nation, she had really no idea where she was. Her sword swung from her hip as she wandered the streets, trying to contain her awe and amazement at the vast and busy city. The streets were tightly packed, and Samara kept one hand tightly over her sword while the other sat protectively on a pouch over her left hip. It was the only money that she had, a few pieces of copper and silver. She’d put her neck on the line to steal those and she sure as hell wasn’t going to have anyone pick-pocket them off of her. First she would need to find out were she was so that she could have a better idea of where she was going. Noticing several venders along the sides of the street, she noticed one that was selling maps.

“Why hello, there!” an elderly man greeted her as she reached his cart.

“Hello,” Samara said quietly, looking over the maps, seeing a large and beautiful one in a frame laced with gold and inscribed in another language, which she assumed to be elvish, but she did not speak the language.

“Looking for a particular map?” he questioned seeing what prize her little eyes had fallen upon.

“Oh, I haven’t got much,” she said gripping the purse tighter. “If you don’t mind me asking, what city is this?” she questioned, unsure.

“Why this is the great city of Eradil! In the Life nation!” he exclaimed proudly.

She smiled a small smile at the man and continued to observe his wares. Her eyes caught a small map that held all of the nations, with boundaries and a few cities. Her eyes lit up, it wasn’t much, but it was something. “How much for that?” she questioned eagerly pointing at it.

The man looked at her and then down at her choice, smiling, “Five silver pieces,” he replied.

Samara gulped, she hoped that she had that much, picking up the pouch, she dug through it and pulled out four pieces of silver, frowning sadly and shifting her weight uncomfortably, before stepping on something awkwardly. She gave a strange look and glanced down, seeing a silver piece laying at her feet. Grinning triumphantly, she stooped down and grabbed it from the ground, slapping the five silver pieces on the counter, and noticing the saddened look in the old man’s eyes, but she tried to ignore it, failing miserably. “There, five silver pieces,” she said taking her newly acquired map and running her eyes over it, trying to decide where she should go next. If she’d need to find more work, or steal more money to buy the medicine for her siblings.
