Hi everyone
I have always been interested in electional astrology - also called the astrology of timing. It's all about selecting a good day to initiate something so that a positive outcome is more likely. The Moon plays an important role in electional astrology and she should be in good alignment with the other planets. When the Moon is void-of-course it is not considered a good time to start something new. The Moon is not the only consideration in choosing an electional date. The planets that rule the matter of the election should also be well aligned and in good aspect with each other and the Moon. It's not so easy to work with electional astrology but it is well worth the effort.

If you're interested in an electional astrology guide I found one for the iPhone called 2009 Electional Astrology Planning Guide. It is quite sophisticated and very easy to use. It gives daily forecasts based on electional astrology, planetary aspects, Moon void-of-course, eclipses and a lot more all on your iPhone or iPod Touch. To learn more about it go to the App Store on your iPhone and search astrology. Or you can use the link below to go to the iTunes store.

Hello everyone

The best book I have found on the astrology of timing is called - "Electional Astrology the Art of Timing" by J Hampar. The author lays out all the rules and gives many examples of election charts covering topics for each of the twelve houses of the horoscope.

The Moon is of utmost importance in electional work and she must be free from affliction - which means well placed by sign, house and aspect. She cannot be void-of-course and her last aspect describes the outcome of the elected matter. Also the natural rulers of the electional matter should be strong. For example in an election chart for marriage - Venus - Mars and the Moon are all considered important and should be in good alignment with each other and as well placed by sign and house as possible. The time of the day is important in determining both the ascendant sign and the house placement of the ruling planets.

Good Day
Moon in Aries sextile Neptune
When the Moon is in Aries people are self-reliant and positive though sometimes pushy. You can get something going again if you have tried before and failed. Original ideas are in abundance as retrograde Mercury is sextile Uranus early today. Try to tap into that energy stream and make the most of it.

Challenging Day
Moon in Taurus square Neptune
When the Moon is in Taurus progress is slow and people are more deliberate in their actions. Personal security and matters of a material nature tend to dominate every one's thinking. While energy is somewhat lacking today tomorrow's new Moon will get the conversation going again. Use this time to put the finishing touches on your plans then go forward once Mercury is direct.

Challenging Day
Moon in Virgo oppose Uranus
When the Moon is in Virgo differences can get in the way of progress because people are overly critical. This is a good time to volunteer your services or work on a favorite project. Attention to detail is admirable but strive to see the big picture. Mercury is stationary and turns direct this evening at 9:18 PM eastern time. As Mercury moves forward so do projects that have been on hold.

this app is so usefull and many of my co-workers have also bought it. we use it to help with timing in setting up appointments. we are sales associates for a large real estate firm. at first i was a skeptic but have to admit this timing stuff works. on challenging days the likelihood of cancelled apointments went up whereas on the good days things just seem to go better overall.

thanks for this info. when will the 2010 version be available?

Challenging Day
Moon in Scorpio square Jupiter
When the Moon is in Scorpio people prefer privacy and tend to act on their own. The tendency now is to push forward no matter what but delay is likely so try to pace yourself. A lot can be accomplished with a steady stride. If you expect too much you may be disappointed.

Good Day
Moon in Sagittarius sextile Jupiter
When the Moon is in Sagittarius projects tend to work out well because an optimistic attitude is prevalent. People are likely to be helpful and you are lucky. Sunday's full Moon in this sign focuses attention on legal matters and foreign policy issues. You can formalize or legalize documents, make long-range travel plans or attend a ceremony.

Good Day
Moon in Capricorn trine Mercury
When the Moon is in Capricorn people are focused on long-term goals. Progress is slow but steady as long as you make a commitment. This is a good time for research, studies and other mental endeavors. You can succeed if you stay the course.

Mixed Day
Moon void-of-course
Moon in Gemini trine Jupiter
The day begins with the Moon void-of-course until 1:01 PM eastern time. Use this period for routine activities. The afternoon hours favor the exchange of information, collection of data and successful negotiations. People tend to be receptive to new ideas though indecision may be a factor.

Variable Day
Moon in Cancer trine Uranus
When the Moon is in Cancer the focus is on home, family and security issues. People are more inclined to listen to their feelings. Change is inevitable as we test the waters with new ideas and concepts. However today's Sun Neptune opposition suggests that some in the spotlight are misleading and misinformed. Bide your time and wait for things to clear up.

Variable Day
Moon in Scorpio refranation sextile Mercury
When the Moon is in Scorpio people like to circumvent the rules and not everything is on the up and up. It would be a good idea to review what is already in hand because something may be amiss. Agreements can fall apart if you're not careful. Read the fine print.
