OK, I'm going to bring in some resolution procedures here.

Right.

First off, all topics here and henceforth going to be put into a moderation queue, which means I, Acer, Erny or DotComm will approve topics for appearance. Note that we may just as easily decline. Next, do not be surprised if your resolution mysteriously changes! While I would never change the meaning of a resolution, I will be lurking around editting resolutions to have sufficient grammar, spelling, and the rest.

Resolutions must henceforth be polls, and there must be three and only three (3) options in that poll: For, Against, Abstain (Yea, Nay, Abstain may also be used, or Abstain can be replaced with Abstention). Any topics that don't comply with this will be made to (in the event that they can't, they will be deleted).

Please remember NOT to choose multi-choice, which would ruin the entire voting procedure!

Votes will last 5 days (IRL) and 5 days only - if you haven't voted by then, tough luck.

RESOLUTIONS MUST BE PAIRED WITH DISCUSSION TOPICS.

In a resolution, a nation may only post one of three things: For, Against, Abstain (or whatever the poll choices are, as outlined above). A discussion topic will be made, in which delegates may discuss the resolution.

UNSC

UNSC resolutions still follow the guideline, but as well as making a discussion topic in the UNSC, discussion should be open to the UNGA as well (although they do not have the power to affect it). Otherwise, the UNSC works in exactly the same way as the UNGA.

SECRETARY-GENERAL

Secretary-general elections happen each year. The year as currently defined is 1990. First a nomination topic will be made BY THE CURRENT SECRETARY-GENERAL, which will last for four (4) days. Again, if you haven't nominated by then, tough luck. ALL nominated countries will then be voted on in a topic entitled "Secretary-General Voting: Round One). This topic will NOT be a poll, and will simply list the nominated countries and ask delegates to vote for two OR three (at the Secretary-General's discretion) nations. Any delegates who vote for less or more than the given amount will have their vote(s) voided. Then, the mean (that is, the number that occurs the most) of the votes for countries will be counted up, and any nation who gets over the mean will be legible for the next round (if there are less than three [not inclusive] nations over the mean, the mean will be the "pass mark"). This will last for four (4) days. Then Secretary-General Voting: Round Two will begin, which will be a poll. The rounds will be 3 days each, and each time a tie is achieved, the tied nations will be voted on in a new round until ONE nation gets a clear majority.
