Christian,
There is a theory that says Jesus was a reincarnation of Maitreya. (Maitreya is said to be the Bodhisattva that is next in line to become Buddha, after Gautama.) There is also a theory that one of the Masters of the Trans-Himalayan Brotherhood (M? KH?) will be the next Buddha after Maitreya. (This also ties into the idea of the Second Coming of the Messiah, the idea being that Maitreya is the 'Messiah' who will eventually return ("the second coming") to become the next Buddha. Which ties into the idea of the sixth root-race. There is a theory that says we Theosophists are the 'advance scout team' that is preparing the way for the Ancient Wisdom teachings that will become commonplace during the sixth root-race. This would explain why M and KH are working so hard to get the Ancient Wisdom released now, in order to lay the groundwork now for a successful sixth root-race later. I am not convinced that this theory is true, but it is a fascinating theory nonetheless. -------------------- Madame Blavatsky’s aim was to rescue the archaic truths in organized religions which always become distorted and perverted as the centuries go by.

Sure brings thoughts of Illuminati objectives ... a special class of people with some Higher value self-attributed to themselves. A select group that will either save the world, or destroy it ... not clear answer there. I hadn't heard that theory that Theosophists were special ... makes me want to look for more background on the Mahatmas. I thought what Theosophists were/are is simply the intent for all people, once they see there are unifying concepts behind our varied belief systems. If we are different, then is there some [nature] that indicates we will be different? Or, is it just a matter of accepting the doctrine? I am thinking most people born in America fits Blavatsky's mention of an emerging 6th Race. I think she even comments on the fall of Japan eventually for opposite reasons. -------------------- Christian von Lähr
I draw from the group of ancient former Theosophist's points of view as much as I would from modern Theosophy and neo-Theosophy. |

Christian,
I don't think Theosophists are any more special than, say, the American founding fathers who created the first constitutional democracy in the world. Democracy as well as Theosophy is for everyone. We are pioneers, but that doesn't give us a lot of 'special status.' And, if America is the place where the 6th root-race begins emerging from, it doesn't surprise me that Americans came up with the first constitutional democracy. -------------------- Madame Blavatsky’s aim was to rescue the archaic truths in organized religions which always become distorted and perverted as the centuries go by.
