Terms of Service
Rules here at The Seven Seas aren't harsh. We only have the basics here. The secret phrase is "Arrgh, hoist the main sail!" Post this at the end of your application, and it is most likely to be accepted. Don't be surprised if it gets declined and we don't give a reason.
Registering Do not register if you don't think you're going to be active. It is a waste of time registering and not using the account at all. Which is why we require active members, and those of which that follow the rules. Register with a real name. We won't be accepting any people with their names that have numbers, special characters, underscores, etc. Don't try to register with a "Moderator" name either unless you have been chosen to do so. Common Courtesy Respect other members! You are not the King or Queen of online. Each person has the right to be treated the way they want to be treated. Remember members come from all places; all ages; and more. We need to show them respect. Do not flame. Message Boards are technically about online communities. We are supposed to help, and enjoy online. This means no flaming. If you having a problem with a member, don't be afraid to contact an Administrator. Please, refrain from back seat moderating. It makes staff members feel out in the cold. It feels like being kicked out of the job, and we don't like that. A note, don't type in capital letters. IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING. Now, nobody likes being shouted at, do they? I'm sure you don't. So refrain from doing so. When a staff member warns you, don't try to fight. It's useless. No one will change it. The only one who can is you. You change your actions it goes back down. So, I repeat, don't attack on them! Don't try to edit messages an Administrator or Moderator placed on your post. It is a message from us to you. Try to understand it and we will be the ones to edit it. Learn from your mistakes, remember. Please use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Yes, we do understand that not everyone's first language is English, but otherwise we will not understand what you say or mean, and you won't be taken very seriously! Don't use another character. God moding, in a term. Only use your character, and not the persons character. It will make the story much more exciting if we see how the next person replies to your post. No power playing. This is a Human RPG, not a Magic RPG. Human, meaning that it is impossible that your character does not get hurt. If your character gets injured, it is injured. Posting Spamming is useless. Spamming is to get your posts higher with no reason or purpose. I borrowed this acronym from a forum: Short, Pointless, Aannoying, Messages. Now see? Don't spam. Try not to double post. Be patient while your post is being posted; don't post the "Post New Topic" or "Post New Reply" button two times. Double posting is a cheap way of getting your posts up. Remember, the edit button is your friend! Making double topics are USELESS. If there is a discussion already made, and you made another, it will be deleted. Besides, you can get your post up again by posting there. Profile Rules Signatures must not exceed 400 x 200 pixels and if a celeb is there, please make sure he/she is not yet taken in Face Claim. We don't want doubles running around here. Twins are acceptable, of course. Please do not advertise using your Signature (Image)! Only use text. Acceptions are your character's plot, as long as it is anywhere from The Seven Seas. You are allowed a maximum of only one banner and several small images. (Maximum small images are only six.) We don't want to flood the page; it's very irritating. Avatars must not exceed 100 x 100 and must be suitable. Suitable, meaning, your character picture with a small text, or anything related to The Seven Seas. Not suitable, a blinking image that says, "I RULE THE WORLD." (Something like that.) Other Please don't leave without our knowing. It's a problem from forums when they wonder, "did he or she die?" or "maybe their computer got broken and they became broke" and other crazy ideas. Strictly, NO ADVERTISING through PM! If you receive one, forward it STRAIGHT to one of the admins. We allowed in the signature and in the advertisment forum. No where else. -- * Staff Members have the right to change these rules anytime, so check regularly.
