Can't say that I know. I never got into it. Found that it was more about gameplay than real conversation which I am not a fan of.

Anyone know how CN is faring? Just wondering if people are just not bothered with the genre anymore, or NS is just not keeping up.

Yeah, we never seem to go away. I will note, while it doesn't seem that the overall activity of NS has improved as far as forums and large player created regions is concerned, the number of nations online at any given time has sharply gone up since NS2 closed. When NS was totally dead, there were about 600 nations online at any given time when i logged on. Since the death of NS2, there are around 1,100 nations online every time I go on. Now this is nothing close to the average of 3,000 or so at the peak, but it is an interesting spike that is almost surely related to the failure of NS2.

I'm pretty sure Nationstates is pretty much dead. I haven't been on the official NS site for probably a year, if not longer. I hadn't even checked here for several months, and then I randomly did, and lo and behold, people were here chatting. yes.gif

Interesting stuff here. It seems NS2, the long awaited sequel to NS, has failed. It did not even get out of the Beta stage before underlying software issues, and probably a lack of profitability, brought it down.

Anyone think this will bring a return of the old NS?
