Title: Revolutionary Bill
Description: by Winstonopia
winstonopia - March 8, 2007 10:07 PM (GMT)
Viva la Revolucion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Upon the passing of this bill, every piece of legislation in Red Sox Nation is instantly null and void, including this bill, meaning the legislation is working again, including this bill, meaning every bill is again null and void again, including this bill, and so on.
Anyone with me?

so basically leaving us with a clean slate...
Might as well...
winstonopia - March 8, 2007 10:17 PM (GMT)
no it doesn't clear the slate. it only puts us in a never-ending state of transition between anarchy and order.
Teredona - March 8, 2007 10:17 PM (GMT)
Wouldn't a simple repeal of the constitution suffice?
winstonopia - March 8, 2007 10:18 PM (GMT)
i don't think either of you get the catch-22 part of it
My Urinary Tract - March 8, 2007 10:24 PM (GMT)
win, its really not funny... how about we just put our heads together and write a new constitution...
winstonopia - March 8, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
My Urinary Tract - March 8, 2007 10:27 PM (GMT)
hmmm... well... I have an idea... I'm sure you do... so lets all write up our ideas, then propose them
winstonopia - March 8, 2007 10:30 PM (GMT)
first poker, the constitution. get your priorities straight...
winstonopia - March 8, 2007 10:52 PM (GMT)
now what creative aspect can we add into it?
Teredona - March 8, 2007 10:58 PM (GMT)
We could do a permanent council thing.
My Urinary Tract - March 8, 2007 11:19 PM (GMT)
winstonopia - March 9, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
we should do something with as little hierarchy as possible - something where each and every citizen is involved a lot in the daily runnings of the region, whether it be by control of the forum or control of some political function.

You can't have all the citezens in the government because of inactivity. If even one citezen left, you're screwed.
deisel 10 - March 11, 2007 11:19 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that's the problem we already have, hence the fact that we've postponed elections for the time being.
winstonopia - March 12, 2007 12:50 AM (GMT)
exactly. maybe some form of direct democracy? where every citizen gets a vote?
we should also eliminate the citizenship process - where you have to apply and all that. it's probably intimidating and puts people off. what about if we just had straight up votes - everyone can vote unless we know they are residents of other regions - and we vote manually (post your vote) rather than through the invisionfree polls.
My Urinary Tract - March 12, 2007 12:07 PM (GMT)
I 100% agree with manual voting.
I also like direct democracy, with maybe three admin type people elected for two month terms, just so precticle stuff like moderation and administration can be fairly handled... but give them no more power than that... have all other decisions taken publically by vote.
What I want to do is create a kind of charter, which lists rights and responsibilities, and defines basic voting rules, elections and administrators... then just leave it.

Alyss - March 13, 2007 04:45 AM (GMT)
Seems fine, as long as I keep this post and don't have to do anything else. I prefer to comment on the politics nowadays, not to particiapate in it.
My Urinary Tract - March 13, 2007 12:03 PM (GMT)
well level of paryicipation will be up to everyone... I suppose you will have to remain as some kind of permanent admin... nothing we can really do about that...
winstonopia - March 13, 2007 08:55 PM (GMT)
an overlord? sounds good. but other than that, we should try to make as many citizens as possible on equal footing.
My Urinary Tract - March 13, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
not an overlord... just a permanent admin, checked by other elected admins... andway, that there is nothing we can do anything about...
Alyss - March 15, 2007 11:58 AM (GMT)
Yay! I'm an overlord!

Micky - March 15, 2007 07:08 PM (GMT)
That's an attrative statement, Alyss XDD
What are we doing with the current government?
My Urinary Tract - March 15, 2007 07:08 PM (GMT)
Micky - March 15, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
I thought you said you were against bringing everything to a full stop.
My Urinary Tract - March 15, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)
well, right now, we don't have a lot of choice...
My Urinary Tract - March 15, 2007 07:25 PM (GMT)
besides I am sick of NS... I am only here for the social stuff really.
Micky - March 15, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
So you continue to remind us.
My Urinary Tract - March 15, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
Well, what else can I say? What I want to do here is create a very simple system to run the forum, then leave it... Do a bit of recruiting to keep it freash, but thats it.
Micky - March 15, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
And I have no doubts that you will do just that, and do a fine job of it.
My Urinary Tract - March 15, 2007 08:34 PM (GMT)
when I can be bothered...
My Urinary Tract - March 15, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
or someone else can... hint...
winstonopia - March 15, 2007 09:33 PM (GMT)
but honestly it's just boring with 3 or 4 people - we need to get more people on here or else we're creating a government for nobody.
My Urinary Tract - March 15, 2007 09:34 PM (GMT)
this is true... but what can we do? some recruitin... weve al been lazy (except d10) and just focusing on NS isn't really enough...
My Urinary Tract - March 15, 2007 09:35 PM (GMT)
besides, I don't so much want a government, as a fair system by which to run the forum...
Micky - March 15, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
Oh come on James, do something :P.
